Week #2 of my first grow, all is well so far (from what I can tell at least). The Gelato stretched a little more than I would like in the beginning because I didn't have the right light for it.

Freshly transplanted into 5gal fabric pots. The Gorilla Glue has passed the Gelato in maturity despite being a day behind her. Trained the Gorilla Glue on day 27, not quite a super crop but close to it. The plant was showing signs of starting more tops before the day was even over!

One of my plants has some light green spotting on the leaves but other than that seems perfectly healthy. I don't think I need to be worried about it but I'm curious if anyone knows what it might be? (just a mutation?) My camera isn't the greatest but it is visible in my picture.

Could be oddball variegation that sometimes happens, but I'd keep an eye on it...could very well be TMV (Tobacco Mosaic Virus). That would be a bad thing. If it spreads to your other plant you'll know. Either way I'd keep an eye on it. If it ends up being TMV, you'll want to thoroughly sanitize ALL your grow tools and environment.

Day 30: The Gorilla Glue is still exploding. The Gelato is crawling but still making progress. Training to the best of my ability, seems to be working fairly well. Day 31: Topped the Gelato and started quarter strength Fox Farm nutrients. Pretty sure the Gorilla Glue has TMV... The Gelato has some very tight node spacing, Gorilla Glue is going to need a trellis End of week 5 - The Gorilla glue is in pre-flower, I hope she stretches a good bit more but still growing nicely. The Gelato is starting to grow again after the topping, the lower area has sprouted out a good bit.

Would there be any sort of reason I shouldn't add a second less powerful light to the side of my tent? My thought is if my goal is getting more light to the lower growth wouldn't that be a good course of action?

No, he just doesn't what shit advice. I've seen grow done with 15watt lights. Yeah, an extra light will only help. Any extra ppfd will help make better buds

Defoliated the Gelato down to a happy little stick over the course of 3-4 days, wasn't too many leaves but it's definitely more open to air. I think I'm just going to use this Gelato as a tester plant to see what I can learn. Might end up culling it after I get what I need out of it. The Gorilla Glue has been getting treated differently, I have been just leaf tucking her for the most part after I bent her over. I'll pull the trellis down once the new growth gets a little more length. This plant has been great the whole way through TMV or not, even handled transplant better than the Gelato.

I think the patterning on the Gorilla Glue is finally taking its leave. It's also still exploding, every 2 days or so it's a completely different plant. The Gelato has been very pretty and hasn't been demanding at all. Still doubt I'll leave it till harvest though, we'll see if were even going to flip it to flower when the Gorilla Glue is closer to getting chopped. 6/13 Probably should have done this sooner but I added a second 100w light. Starting it at 75% and watching the temps in the tent along with the leaves hoping for good things 6/14 I think I may have continued veg nutrients for a little bit too long hence the leaf curling on the Gorilla Glue and not the Gelato (still in veg). Either that or I was underwatering maybe... 6/15 Trained the Gelato out and defoliated a small bit. Still just leaf tucking and using the trellis net to open up the Gorilla Glue.

Gorilla Glue is stressed out. She's still growing strong curled tips or not but I am taking measures to make the her happy., Gelato is still just chilling in veg 6/20 She hasn't showed any signs past the leaf curling (that I can see) of the Nitrogen toxicity. Tomorrow or the next day I will water and after that assess when I need to feed again. 6/22 Update: The new growth on the Gorilla Glue looks perfect (to me). No curling leaves, no excess wilting.

multiple things could be the problem do you keep a fan blowing directly on your canopy? if so dont cannabis does not enjoy that. you most likely have some problems with the rootzone. first off your tops look like they’re nitrogen toxic and overwatered but its most likely lockout and overfeeding happening in the soil. you dont need to blindly add calmag and you’re using too much to start with. too rich soil is not something plants like and mostly autos are even more sensitive in most cases so too much salinity can burn their roots and rot them i dont want to turn this into a long winded unreadable academic paper or something so i’ll just share my 2 cents. -drop the cal-mag -remove any fans directly blowing on the plants -cut your feeding in half -saturate the soil everytime you water and only water when they get significantly lighter -dont let them sit in runoff if you’re -dont take any advice of growingladyfromeastmidlands seriously these measures should improve their health and help them bounce back in the coming weeks and hopefully bulk up nicely

6/25 I had to do some defoliating, I was worried about mold forming because so many leaves were tucked into one little area. Rather decrease yield than risk mold right? I have found a few leaves that suggest she wants some phosphorous so I will be dealing with that. Working with 1' of usable space between my lights and pots is a problem. Maybe I can mount the lights higher up some how? Twine? I have my carbon filter outside the tent so I have the space in there... BTW I know I have the wrong trellis net, it was all I had on hand and with the small space I didn't want to chance not having one in there at all. I topped the Gelato on the growth that is coming up in the middle first, waited a day then topped the shorter three. The shorter three may end up being FIMs I left a bit just to see what would happen, experiment plant and all. 6/26 Stopped Cal/mag on recommendation a few days ago and started developing rust spots so I put it back in the regimen again.

The Gorilla Glue has some rust spots on the top leaves, added some cal/mag to counteract that. Last week I thinned her out a good bit, no more fans covering bud sites more or less... Probably should have done that before she got into flower. The Gelato has recovered from the topping/fimmings and is growing its new tops, I also removed the very top leaves to keep it from growing much taller before I yoink the Gorilla Glue. Still an experiment plant, still growing better than I thought it was going to, still just sitting in the back vegetating. Day 63: This Gorilla Glue is doing markedly better than I thought it was going to. It has about 8 satellite nugs and one monster nug in the middle. The monster nug stem is zig zagged because I trained it multiple times so it's getting light on multiple levels directly to the top. I feel like there should only be 2 more weeks or so looking at the trichome production, there are some cloudy heads on the sugar leaves but still all clear on the nugs. Day 69: Don't think I'm going to feed the Gorilla Glue again, whatever happens, happens. Final feeding was 1tsp Tiger Bloom 0.5tsp cal/mag. I also removed the Gelato from the diary. It's still in there but I'll start a new diary if I decide to flower this plant.

How many nodes have you cut off of a photo before? I plan to grow my Gorilla Glue and Gelato together till harvest, yoink the Gorilla Glue, flip the Gelato to flower. I'd like an idea just how extreme I can go with my next "topping" to keep this plant as small as possible.

i've taken plants down to just a few gowth nodes before --- mothers i wanted to make low-maintenance and had forever to get them healthy again etc... even so, "they" say not to take off more than 1/3rd of the plant (a rule that comes from general horticulture, not just marijuana. ime, if it's healthy, it can handle it. The problem with your context is if you expect it to be immediately ready by harvest or that all the plants will react the same way to the stress.. possible but not guaranteed. maybe, one gets stunted for a second? So, i'm not sure exactly what you want to do... if you want gg and gelato together, it says you are yanking gg and flipping gelato in next sentence.... some recovery time is best.
