Stella’s Trio

5/25/22 Today begins the life cycle (and grow) of my dearly beloved Stella’s Cuatro. Stella is the name I gave my “DarkStar #2” plant. I figured I’d try to start having a new outlook on my ladies by giving them names instead of just generic identities. Stella, is a beautiful DarkStar Kush cultivar that I started out as a seed. Her genetics comes from T.H. Seeds, and is the second of her line that I’ve grown to date. It is my favorite to smoke 💨, and I’m so happy that she has given me 4 daughters. I noted in my “DarkStar #2” diary that I took 5 cuttings from her, and that 4 had rooted. Today begins their journey. Each clone was taken from the clone try and put into individual red solo cups filled with Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil and watered with tap water. Hopefully that doesn’t end up being a mistake. Each solo cup has drainage holes burned into them with another cup underneath to collect drainage whenever they’re fed. They were then placed into the grow tent with their mother, their aunt’s Jackie (Sir Jack auto), and Rocket (Rocket Fuel). I haven’t decided on names for them yet, but I soon will, and I’ll let you all know what they are. Until then; happy growing everyone! 5/27/22 My “Stella’s Cuatro” may end up being a trio. One of my baby girls isn’t looking well after the transplant from the cloning tray to her own solo cup, and doesn’t look as healthy as the other 3. She also hasn’t continued growing her new leaves as the others have. Sad, but she’s not dead yet, and may still bounce back. I mixed a half gallon of water today with the seedling level nutrients from my feed chart. Since I’m using half a gallon of water, they’re only getting half the nutrients. They each received 1/2 cup of the following: FloraMicro - 1.3 ml FloraGro - 1.3 ml FloraBloom - 1.3 ml The initial/final pH level was 6.3, and wasn’t adjusted. The TDS was 412 ppm going in. Runoff pH and TDS was individually noted as follows: #1 - pH 5.9, TDS 3690 ppm. #2 - pH 6.0, TDS 2827 ppm. #3 - pH 5.9, TDS 2921 ppm. #4 - pH 6.0, TDS 2324 ppm. #1 is the one that hasn’t started developing her next leaves yet and looks a little stunted. The other 3 are looking great and have already completed growing their first new leaves and started on the next set. The temperature in my tent was 78.1F, and the humidity was 59%. I hope they all make it, but 3 out of 4 will be acceptable if #1 continues the way she is doing now. Time will tell. Happy growing everyone! 5/29/22 Happiness abounds in the growing world today! Well, at least in MY growing world. It looks as though my Cuatro will stay a foursome. At least #1 is looking better, and has spit out her next set of leaves finally. Now don’t go throwing a party yet! She’s still smaller than the other 3, but she has most definitely grown a new set of leaves. I’ll keep my eye on her, but for now she looks better. I’ve moved my ladies into my smaller tent in order to flip my 2 larger plants to flower today. They now have their own light that has been placed 12 inches overhead. It should make a lot of difference. Today each of my girls received 1/2 cup of the following solution mixed in a half gallon of water. FloraMicro - 1.3 ml FloraGro - 1.3 ml FloraBloom - 1.3 ml pH going in was 6.3, and TDS was 412 ppm. Runoff was as follows: #1: pH - 5.9, TDS - 2907 ppm #2: pH - 5.9, TDS - 2257 ppm #3: pH - 6.1, TDS - 2261 ppm #4: pH - 6.1, TDS - 2019 ppm Tent temperature was 77F, and humidity was 50%. I decided not to give them individual names. Numbers for multiple plants will be easier to keep track of. Oh well 🤷‍♂️. Happy growing everyone! 5/31/22 Stella’s Cuatro are doing well. They seem to have adjusted to their new home with ease. Each of them is looking better, and growing quickly (as clones tend to do). I mixed some new feeding solution, still using the seedling level nutrients with one addition. I decided to add a little CALiMAGic in case any of them need it. They received 1/2 cup each of the following: CALiMAGic - 1 ml FloraMicro - 1.3 ml FloraGro - 1.3 ml FloraBloom - 1.3 ml The pH was 6.3, and TDS was 538 ppm. Runoff was measured as follows: #1: pH - 5.9, TDS - 2654 ppm #2: pH - 6.0, TDS - 2694 ppm #3: pH - 6.0, TDS - 2495 ppm #4: pH - 6.1, TDS - 2049 ppm #1 has started to bounce back, but is still smaller than the others. #3 is also smaller than #2 & #4. They will all need to be transplanted to new homes soon. For now they are all looking good. The temperature in the tent was 86F, and humidity was 66%. Happy growing everyone! 6/2/22 I’ve been a little busy today trying to get all of my small ladies into their permanent homes. I got through half of Stella’s Cuatro. #2 and #4 were transplanted into their permanent homes, and I hope to finish with #1 & #3 tomorrow. I started feeding them the Early Growth step 2 nutrients today. Due to the different containers, each plant was given different amounts of the solution. #2 & #4 received 3 cups, and #1 received 1/2 cup and #3 received 1 cup. They were given the following: CALiMAGic - 2 ml FloraMicro - 3.8 ml FloraGro - 5.7 ml FloraBloom - 2.8 ml Floralicious Plus - 1 ml The initial pH was 6.2 and wasn’t adjusted. The TDS was 675 ppm. Runoff was as follows: #1 - pH: 6.2, TDS: 1889 ppm #2 - pH: 6.0, TDS: 3793 ppm #3 - pH: 6.1, TDS: 2019 ppm #4 - pH: 6.2, TDS: 3161 ppm The tent temperature was high at 88F, but the humidity was 90%. I have never seen it that high before, and I’m assuming it’s due to the volume of plants in the smaller tent. There is no smell yet, so I don’t have the filter hooked up inside. I think this may be a mistake, but I’ll monitor it and adjust as needed. All of Stella’s Cuatro are looking wonderful. #1 looked like she wasn’t going to make it, but now she’s thriving! Stella has also given me 4 more potential clones, so their may be another DarkStar diary in my near future. Happy growing everyone!
