Today begins the life cycle (and grow) of my dearly beloved Stella’s Cuatro. Stella is the name I gave my “DarkStar #2” plant. I figured I’d try to start having a new outlook on my ladies by giving them names instead of just generic identities.
Stella, is a beautiful DarkStar Kush cultivar that I started out as a seed. Her genetics comes from T.H. Seeds, and is the second of her line that I’ve grown to date. It is my favorite to smoke 💨, and I’m so happy that she has given me 4 daughters.
I noted in my “DarkStar #2” diary that I took 5 cuttings from her, and that 4 had rooted. Today begins their journey.
Each clone was taken from the clone try and put into individual red solo cups filled with Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil and watered with tap water. Hopefully that doesn’t end up being a mistake.
Each solo cup has drainage holes burned into them with another cup underneath to collect drainage whenever they’re fed. They were then placed into the grow tent with their mother, their aunt’s Jackie (Sir Jack auto), and Rocket (Rocket Fuel).
I haven’t decided on names for them yet, but I soon will, and I’ll let you all know what they are.
Until then; happy growing everyone!
5/27/22
My “Stella’s Cuatro” may end up being a trio. One of my baby girls isn’t looking well after the transplant from the cloning tray to her own solo cup, and doesn’t look as healthy as the other 3. She also hasn’t continued growing her new leaves as the others have. Sad, but she’s not dead yet, and may still bounce back.
I mixed a half gallon of water today with the seedling level nutrients from my feed chart. Since I’m using half a gallon of water, they’re only getting half the nutrients.
They each received 1/2 cup of the following:
FloraMicro - 1.3 ml
FloraGro - 1.3 ml
FloraBloom - 1.3 ml
The initial/final pH level was 6.3, and wasn’t adjusted. The TDS was 412 ppm going in.
Runoff pH and TDS was individually noted as follows:
#1 - pH 5.9, TDS 3690 ppm.
#2 - pH 6.0, TDS 2827 ppm.
#3 - pH 5.9, TDS 2921 ppm.
#4 - pH 6.0, TDS 2324 ppm.
#1 is the one that hasn’t started developing her next leaves yet and looks a little stunted. The other 3 are looking great and have already completed growing their first new leaves and started on the next set.
The temperature in my tent was 78.1F, and the humidity was 59%. I hope they all make it, but 3 out of 4 will be acceptable if #1 continues the way she is doing now. Time will tell.
Happy growing everyone!
5/29/22
Happiness abounds in the growing world today! Well, at least in MY growing world. It looks as though my Cuatro will stay a foursome. At least #1 is looking better, and has spit out her next set of leaves finally.
Now don’t go throwing a party yet! She’s still smaller than the other 3, but she has most definitely grown a new set of leaves. I’ll keep my eye on her, but for now she looks better.
I’ve moved my ladies into my smaller tent in order to flip my 2 larger plants to flower today. They now have their own light that has been placed 12 inches overhead. It should make a lot of difference.
Today each of my girls received 1/2 cup of the following solution mixed in a half gallon of water.
FloraMicro - 1.3 ml
FloraGro - 1.3 ml
FloraBloom - 1.3 ml
pH going in was 6.3, and TDS was 412 ppm.
Runoff was as follows:
#1: pH - 5.9, TDS - 2907 ppm
#2: pH - 5.9, TDS - 2257 ppm
#3: pH - 6.1, TDS - 2261 ppm
#4: pH - 6.1, TDS - 2019 ppm
Tent temperature was 77F, and humidity was 50%.
I decided not to give them individual names. Numbers for multiple plants will be easier to keep track of. Oh well 🤷♂️.
Happy growing everyone!
5/31/22
Stella’s Cuatro are doing well. They seem to have adjusted to their new home with ease. Each of them is looking better, and growing quickly (as clones tend to do).
I mixed some new feeding solution, still using the seedling level nutrients with one addition. I decided to add a little CALiMAGic in case any of them need it. They received 1/2 cup each of the following:
CALiMAGic - 1 ml
FloraMicro - 1.3 ml
FloraGro - 1.3 ml
FloraBloom - 1.3 ml
The pH was 6.3, and TDS was 538 ppm.
Runoff was measured as follows:
#1: pH - 5.9, TDS - 2654 ppm
#2: pH - 6.0, TDS - 2694 ppm
#3: pH - 6.0, TDS - 2495 ppm
#4: pH - 6.1, TDS - 2049 ppm
#1 has started to bounce back, but is still smaller than the others. #3 is also smaller than #2 & #4. They will all need to be transplanted to new homes soon.
For now they are all looking good. The temperature in the tent was 86F, and humidity was 66%.
Happy growing everyone!
6/2/22
I’ve been a little busy today trying to get all of my small ladies into their permanent homes. I got through half of Stella’s Cuatro.
#2 and #4 were transplanted into their permanent homes, and I hope to finish with #1 & #3 tomorrow.
I started feeding them the Early Growth step 2 nutrients today. Due to the different containers, each plant was given different amounts of the solution. #2 & #4 received 3 cups, and #1 received 1/2 cup and #3 received 1 cup. They were given the following:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 3.8 ml
FloraGro - 5.7 ml
FloraBloom - 2.8 ml
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
The initial pH was 6.2 and wasn’t adjusted. The TDS was 675 ppm.
Runoff was as follows:
#1 - pH: 6.2, TDS: 1889 ppm
#2 - pH: 6.0, TDS: 3793 ppm
#3 - pH: 6.1, TDS: 2019 ppm
#4 - pH: 6.2, TDS: 3161 ppm
The tent temperature was high at 88F, but the humidity was 90%. I have never seen it that high before, and I’m assuming it’s due to the volume of plants in the smaller tent.
There is no smell yet, so I don’t have the filter hooked up inside. I think this may be a mistake, but I’ll monitor it and adjust as needed.
All of Stella’s Cuatro are looking wonderful. #1 looked like she wasn’t going to make it, but now she’s thriving! Stella has also given me 4 more potential clones, so their may be another DarkStar diary in my near future.
Happy growing everyone!
6/4/22
Today starts week 2, and I’m shifting to the Early Growth step 3 on the nutrient feed chart. It’s the same as step 2 which was started on 6/2/22.
At the time of this feeding I hadn’t moved #1 & #3 to their forever homes yet, but I am going to do it today. The reason I mention it is to explain why the plants received different amounts of solution.
#1 & #3 received 1/2 cup of solution and #2 & #4 received 3 cups. The new nutrient levels were mixed into a gallon of water in order to use for all my plants in the small tent. They received:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 3.8 ml
FloraGro - 5.7 ml
FloraBloom - 2.8 ml
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
The initial pH was 6.3 and didn’t need adjusting. The TDS was 667 ppm.
The runoff levels were as follows:
#1: pH - 6.2, TDS - 1544 ppm
#2: pH - 5.8, TDS - 3467 ppm
#3: pH - 6.1, TDS - 2246 ppm
#4: pH - 6.0, TDS - 3061 ppm
All four of these young ladies are looking wonderfully healthy right now, and I’m hoping that they stay that way. Space is going to be at a premium after I transplant #1 & #3 later today, but it needs to be done in order for them to stay on par with the other 2.
I forgot to look at and write down the tent temperature and humidity at the time I fed them, so I’m listing what it is right now. The humidity was somewhere in the 60% range then, but now after feeding it’s 86%. The temperature is 88F.
Everything is going wonderful so far. Happy growing everyone!
P.S.: I have since moved #1 & #3 into their forever homes.
6/6/22
Today was a crazy, rushed, and incomplete day! I ran out of solution before I had the chance to feed all of my baby girls what they needed.
#1 & #3 each received 3 cups of solution, but #2 & #4 only received 1 cup each. I didn’t have time to make a new batch and to finish feeding them.
Seeing how they both are bigger and more developed than the others, I’m not really worried about it.
I finished off the solution I made the other day, so the nutrient levels are all the same as the previous note from 6/4/22.
The pH going in was 6.3, and TDS was 667 ppm.
Runoff from #1: pH was 6.0, and TDS was 2501 ppm. #3: pH 6.0, and TDS 2754 ppm. Neither #2 or #4 had any runoff to measure.
I measured them today; #1 is 5 inches tall, #2 is 7.5 inches tall, #3 is 4 inches tall, and #4 is 7 inches tall. I took off a pair of leaves from both #2 &4 today because they were getting ridiculously large. The others aren’t ready for that just yet.
The tent temperature was 86F, but the humidity was astronomical at 91%. I went ahead and installed the carbon filter and exhaust blower to remedy this problem, and to improve ventilation.
I didn’t take any pics today, but I will tomorrow. I shouldn’t be rushed tomorrow, so they will get all the attention they need then.
Happy growing everyone!
6/7/22
I mixed a new gallon of nutrients today and each of my ladies received 4 cups.
The solution contained the following:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 5.7 ml
FloraGro - 7.6 ml
FloraBloom - 3.8 ml
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
My TDS meter stopped working properly today right after getting the TDS value for this gallon. It worked fine when I mixed everything, but would only display “6 ppm” afterwards regardless of what I put it in. I won’t be documenting any TDS data till it’s fixed or replaced. Luckily my pH meter is still working just fine.
The initial pH was 6.1. I added 2 ml of pH UP which adjusted the pH to 6.6. The TDS measured 796 ppm (the last good measurement).
Runoff was sufficient for each plant and was as follows:
#1: pH 5.9
#2: pH 5.9
#3: pH 6.0
#4: pH 5.8
The humidity problem seems to have been solved after installing the carbon filter and blower inside the tent yesterday. The temperature was 82F, and humidity was 54%. That’s a hell of a lot better than 91%!
My lovely ladies are doing wonderful! In fact, they seemed to grow about an inch over night. They’ll be ready to flip before too long. My grow room is insane right now, but a good kind of insane!
Happy growing everyone!
6/9/22
I’m a day behind in documentation. Forgive me. This is the fourth diary entry I’ve written ….. Well, if you read my diaries, the entries can be a bit long. Sorry.
At least tonight I want to be short. Stella’s Cuatro are growing extremely tall, but just like clones , they tend to develop secondary branches a little slower, but they do develop them.
Today each of them received 4 cups of a gallon of water I mixed with the following:
I increased the nutrients to the Late Growth step 4 on the Flora-Trio 6-part feeding chart.
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 7.6 ml
FloraGro - 8.5 ml
FloraBloom - 4.7 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
The initial pH was 6.1. I added 1.5 ml of pH UP which adjusted it to 6.4. The TDS was 783 ppm, but I don’t know if that can be trusted. My TDS meter is acting up.
Runoff was as follows:
#1: pH - 5.5 She is 9 inches tall.
#2: pH - 5.9 She is 11.5 inches tall.
#3: pH - 5.4. She is 8 inches tall.
#4: pH - 5.5 She is 10.5 inches tall.
The temperature in the tent was 79F, and humidity was 65%.
I want to go ahead and flip them before they get too damn tall like their mother plant. Right now she’s 40.5 inches tall, and I topped her!
I’ll figure it out. Happy growing everyone!
6/11/22
Today starts week 3 for Stella’s Cuatro, and I believe that I’m going to give them probably 1 more week, then I’m going to flip them.
I have harvested 1 Darkstar before, and I have their mother flowering right now. Both their mother, and my first DarkStar plant were/are huge! My first had branches up to 52 inches long. Their mother is already 40.5 inches tall. I don’t want them to get that big. I don’t have the space!
These ladies started receiving the Late Growth step 4 two days ago at the final feeding of last week. They continued receiving the same. The following nutrients were mixed into a gallon of water, of which, each plant received 4 cups each.
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 7.6 ml
FloraGro - 8.5 ml
FloraBloom - 4.7 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
The initial pH was 5.9. I added 3 ml of pH UP which adjusted it to 6.6. I didn’t even bother with my TDS meter. It’s been acting up lately.
The runoff was noted as follows:
#1, #3, and #4 all had a pH of 5.5. Which is a lot lower than I like to see. #2 was 5.8.
The tent was 79F, and humidity was 49%.
They are all growing tall, but not out. Their branches are still short and not very developed yet. They’re all clones from the same mother and started out as tiny cuttings. I had to top #2, and #4 today because they were growing super tall, and I don’t want them any taller.
That’s all for today. Happy growing everyone!
6/13/22
Well, it seems that #2 & #4 are starting to develop their branches! #1 got tall enough for me to top her today, but #3 is just a tiny bit behind still.
#1 is 14 inches tall.
#2 is 15 inches tall.
#3 is 11.5 inches tall.
#4 is 14 inches tall.
Almost all are equal in height so far, and I will hopefully be able to make room in the flowering tent for them next week. They are big enough!
Because of their size, each of them are requiring more water than 1 gallon can produce for the four of them. Today I mixed 2 separate gallons of nutrient solution. 1 gallon for #1 & 2, and another for #3 & 4.
Each gallon received the same nutrient level, Late Growth step 4. Both had an initial pH of 5.9. I added 2 ml of pH UP to each gallon which adjusted their pH to 6.3.
Runoff was wonderful after each plant received 6 cups (0.375 gal.)
#1 & 4: pH - 5.5
#2: pH - 5.9
#3: pH - 5.4
The tent temperature was 82F, with humidity at 60%.
Stella’s Cuatro are looking wonderful! Just need to finish this week, then flip to flower!
Happy growing everyone!
6/14/22
The foursome received nothing more than a sip today. I gave them equal amounts of what solution was left from yesterday, which was 1 3/4 cups each.
Only 3 of my ladies had any runoff to measure. Like I said, it was just a sip.
#1&3: pH - 5.5
#4: pH - 5.6
The solution pH was 6.3.
The tent temperature was 80F, and the humidity was 63%.
These girls are going into the flowering tent this weekend. This is their last few days to veg. I don’t want them getting any bigger. It should be a colorful grow room near the end.
One can only hope. Happy growing everyone!
6/16/22
I didn’t feed my ladies yesterday, even though I probably should have, but honestly, I just didn’t care. Yesterday that is. I cared enough today though.
All of them are continuing to grow … a lot!
#1 is now 17 inches tall. #2 is 19 inches, #3 is 16 inches, and #4 is 17 inches tall. They are all between 10-12 inches away from the lights.
I made two separate gallons for 1 & 2, and another for 3 & 4. Both gallons contain the same nutrients, and the initial pH was 6.1 for each gallon.
All of them received 6 cups of solution. The runoff for each was ok. Runoff pH was as follows:
#’s 1 & 3 both had a pH of 5.7. #2 was 6.1, and #4 was 5.8.
The temperature in the tent was 81F, and humidity was 66%.
Tomorrow they will each just get a sip of what solution is left, then in 2 days (Saturday, 6/18/22) they’ll be flipped to flower.
I really can’t wait till Saturday. Happy growing everyone!
6/18/22
Today starts week 4, and the first day of flowering!! The day has finally arrived, and my large (flowering) tent is packed! With these 4 additions, there are now 6 plants all together.
I defoliated the living daylights out of all four of my ladies today. I also cut off all the lower, small growths as well as the large bottom 2 branches to provide clearance near their bases. At this point I’m more interested in the ease of growing instead of volume at harvest. Their mother is big enough to give me a pretty good yield. The 4 of them will still be large enough.
I measured each one as well today, and their sizes are as follows:
#1 & #4 are both 21 inches tall. #2 is 22 inches tall, and #3 is 20 inches tall. They are all approximately 28 inches below the light at 100% power.
I fed each plant half a gallon of water today mixed with the early bloom step 1 level nutrients. I mixed 2 separate gallons containing the following:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 5.7 ml
FloraGro - 6.6 ml
FloraBloom - 6.6 ml
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
The pH was 6.2 in each of the two gallons and was not adjusted.
Runoff was sufficient for each plant, and the pH was as follows:
#’s 1 & 4 were both 5.8.
#2 was 6.2, and #3 was 5.7.
The tent temperature was 81F, and humidity was 66%.
Today has been a long day, and I’m tired! Happy growing everyone!
6/20/22
Stella’s Cuatro are all doing well. They all seem to have recuperated from their massive defoliation on the 18th. Right now they all seem to be naked since they haven’t started to develop any bud nodes yet, but I’m sure they’ll be beautiful eventually.
Today I mixed 2 more gallons of solution to feed each plant half a gallon of water with the early bloom nutrients. The nutrients are the same as the other day, so I’m not going to repeat them here.
Both gallons had an initial pH of 6.3, and we’re not adjusted.
Each plant had plenty of runoff as well. The runoff pH was as follows:
#1, 3, & 4 were all 5.8.
#2 was 6.1.
The tent was 84.2F, and the humidity was 52%.
Not much else to say, except, happy growing everyone!
6/23/22
The stretch is on in full force with Stella’s Cuatro! Just since 6/18/22, only 5 days, #1 green 5.5 inches, and is now 26.5 inches tall. #2 grew 8 inches, and is now 30 inches tall. #3 grew 4 inches, and #4 grew 3 inches, and now they are both 24 inches tall.
I’m hoping that the stretch stops soon and that they don’t choke off the space I have left in the tent.
I mixed 2 more gallons of water with the early bloom nutrients. Each plant received 1/2 gallon, or 8 cups of the following:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 5.7 ml
FloraGro - 6.6 ml
FloraBloom - 6.6 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml
The pH for both gallons was an equal 6.4. Each plant had sufficient runoff with pH’s as follows:
#1 & #4 were 5.9.
#2 was 6.2, and #3 was 5.8.
The tent temperature was 85.1F, with humidity at 51%.
Stella’s first 4 daughters are doing well, but I’ll be glad when they stop growing, and start producing some pistils, and bud.
Happy growing everyone!
6/25/22
Stella’s Cuatro continue to grow and get taller. It’s quite unsettling at how fast they are stretching! Almost scary!
#1 has grown 6.5 inches in the last 2 days! #2 has grown 5 inches, #3 has grown 5 inches, and #4 has grown 4 inches. IN JUST 2 DAYS!!
#1 is now 33 inches tall, #2 is 35 inches, #3 is 29 inches, and #4 is 28 inches. Their mother stopped stretching at 50 inches tall, but I hope that they don’t get anywhere near that tall!
They each received 1/2 gallon of water mixed with the following nutrients:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 5.7 ml
FloraGro - 6.6 ml
FloraBloom - 6.6 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml
I mixed two separate gallons so that each plant can get 1/2 gallon. Both were mixed with the same nutrients, and both had an initial pH of 6.3, and did not need adjusting.
Each plant had plenty of runoff, and their pH levels were as follows:
#1, 3, & 4 - 6.0
#2 was 6.2.
The tent was 84.4F, and humidity was 45%.
Each plant is looking wonderful, although big (again, smh). Very nice branch spacing and development. I may not need to grow any more DarkStar for a while after all my current plants are harvested which is fine with me!
Happy growing everyone!
6/29/22
Hello everyone 👋! I know it’s been a while, but like I’ve said in the past; sometimes life gets in the way.
I have been so afraid for my girls these past 4 days. Yes, they had not been fed in 4 days! You know how they did while being deprived of sustenance for 4 long days?
They grew!!
OMFG! I made a point of writing about their stretch in my last note because it was so worth mentioning. But 😱!
#1 grew 10 inches and is now 43 inches tall.
#2 grew 7.5 inches and is now 42.5 inches tall.
#3 grew 7.5 inches and is now 36.5 inches tall.
#4 grew 9 inches and is now 37 inches tall.
They did all that without a drop of anything in 4 days. The stretch is for real!!
I mixed them a pair of gallons to share between the four of them using the early bloom step 2 nutrients. Before I list them below, I wanted to make note of a mistake I made when mixing their solutions.
When I was adding the Floralicious Plus to each of the gallons, I needed to add 2 ml’s to each of the 4 separate gallons I was mixing for 3 separate diaries. Anyway, I was using one syringe to administer the nutrients to each of the plants at the same time instead of 4 separate times. I filled the 10 ml syringe with 8 ml’s of the solution to give each gallon 2 ml’s.
My hand went heavy on the first gallon for my girls here. So, #1 & #2 received 4 ml of Floralicious Plus instead of 2 ml as they should have. I don’t know what the results will be, but I hope nothing negative. Time will tell.
Here’s what they received:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 5.7 ml
FloraGro - 6.6 ml
FloraBloom - 6.6 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml (#1 & #2 got 4ml)
Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml
The pH was 6.3 in both gallons, and wasn’t adjusted.
All 4 plants gave back plenty of runoff with the following pH levels:
#1 - 6.0
#2 - 6.2
#3 & #4 - 5.9
They looked limp and droopy when I first took them out of the tent, but each of them got back to pointing out their leaves within a few minutes of getting fed. DarkStar has always been a super resilient plant, and for that I’m grateful!
The tent is super crowded, but was only 84.2F, and humidity was 41%. I had to move them around a bit and drop them a little lower beneath the light. Their first pistils have all started to show up, and they look lovely. I only hope the stretch stops soon!
Happy growing everyone!
7/1/22:
Today is the last day of week 5, and these ladies are huge! I know you all have to be tired of reading that, but it’s true.
Today I decided to do some minor Low Stress Training (LST) by using some poles to reposition some of the branches on #3 & #4. Since they are all so large, I decided to see if I could make their branches stay closer to the center and grow up instead of out and up. I ran out of poles, so I’ll have to get more, or use a different technique with #1 & #2 later on.
We’re still using the early bloom stage nutrients today. Luckily each plant only received what they were supposed to today, and I didn’t see anything wrong with #1 & #2 from getting too much Floralicious Plus the other day.
Today I mixed 2 more gallons for my ladies to share. The pH for the gallon given to #1 & #2 was 6.3, and the other gallon for #3 & #4 was 6.4.
Runoff was sufficient for each and was measured as follows:
#1 & #4 was 5.9.
#2 was 6.0.
#3 was 5.8.
Tent temperature was 85.1F, and humidity was 54%.
All of them have good pistils starting to develop as well as numerous nodes for lovely bud to grow. I didn’t take any new pics today. 🤷♂️
Can’t wait till they’re done, but that’s still a ways away. Happy growing everyone!
7/3/22
I was a little rushed today, and didn’t have the chance to take any new pics for todays log entry. 🤷 It’s not like I’m not going to add a bunch more photos later in the week.
This week we’re starting with the Mid-Bloom, step 3 nutrients on our feed chart. I mixed two separate gallons to feed my 4 girls as usual.
Each plant received half a gallon of water with the following:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 4.7 ml
FloraGro - 3.8 ml
FloraBloom - 8.5 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
Liquid KoolBloom - 2 ml
Each of the 2 gallons had a pH of 6.4, and wasn’t adjusted. My tap water has been exceptional lately!
Each of the plants had plenty of runoff with the following pH level:
#1 & #3 - 5.9.
#2 - 6.1.
#4 - 5.8
My girls are super tall, and have bodes all over the place. They are all developing nice pistils everywhere, and should each yield quite a bit. I’m looking forward to watching them mature!
Happy 4th of July to all of you in the USA 🇺🇸! Independence Day!!
Happy growing everyone!
7/5/22
These 4 Ladies are going to be the death of me, I swear!
I know you all HAVE to be sick of reading about their growth, but damn! These bitches could be super models!
I last measured them on 6/29/22, and was astounded then by their growth. Now, I’m just blown away. Since 6/29/22:
#1 has grown 12 inches, and is now 55 inches tall.
#2 has grown 11.5 inches, and is now 54 inches tall.
#3 - 12.5 inches, now 49 inches tall.
#4 - 14.5 inches, now 51.5 inches tall.
I had to do some mild LST today. I tied a bunch of the branches on #1 & #2 today. Loosely, but closer in in order to improve stability, and open up space in my tent.
Some of their branches have become so long that they are being pulled apart by gravity. I used some rubber coated, malleable metal poles to tie loose circles around branches, and then wrap the other end around the other branches on the opposite side. I also defoliated #1 & #2.
It’s not pretty, but it seemed to work. I need to do the same to the other two, but time, and supplies didn’t cooperate.
Enough about the maintenance. Let’s get to the feeding.
We’re keeping with the mid-bloom nutrients mixed into a pair of gallons full of water.
The pH of both gallons measured at 6.4. #1&2 share 1 gallon, and #3&4 share the other.
Each gave back plenty of runoff with the following pH levels.
#1 - 5.9
#2 - 6.1
#3 - 6.0
#4 - 5.8
The tent was 83F, with humidity at 65%. I’m hoping the adjusted fan helps with the humidity, and I also hope my girls react well to being tied up.
Happy growing everyone!
7/7/22
Today, Stella’s Cuatro ended up getting the same treatment as their mother. Each of them were the recipient of some serious High Stress Training (HST). All of them have super long branches that were making them almost unmanageable, so I got to taping and bending branches today until nearly all of their branches had been bent over 90*. Sorry for the asterisk, but I didn’t have a degree icon to use.
Bending their branches made space in the tent to some degree as well. They don’t look so crowded anymore, but later on I’m going to have the same issues that I’m having with their mother now. Branch weight!
It seems silly to complain about all the time, but damn they are all huge plants!
I know that some of you may be thinking that you’d probably rather stay away from this cultivar, but that would be a mistake.
I bitch, and moan a lot about these plants, but regardless of the headaches they give me, they are still absolutely wonderful plants. They grow strong and healthy regardless of what I do to them. They develop ginormous buds, and the effects of this cultivar are still my all time favorite.
They are resilient giants that produce a lot of bud! The first cultivar I ever grew was this one, DarkStar, and 1 plant produced almost half a pound of top shelf bud after everything was dried and jarred up. I’m looking forward to another wonderful haul from these 4, their mother, and another 2 younger siblings.”
Each plant received 1/2 gallon of solution with a pH of 6.5. Each has sufficient runoff except #3. She didn’t have any runoff. The others were as follows:
#1 & 4 - 5.8
#2 - 6.0.
The tent was 83.3F, and humidity was 56%.
Life is good. Happy growing everyone!
7/9/22
Today is the start of week 7 for these lovely ladies. Each of them has responded well to being bent over and repositioned to make more space in the tent. All of the bent branches have already started to redirect their ends up toward the light, so all is well in The_Good_Twin grow room.
They may look a little weird, but they are developing quite nicely in their current stage of growth. I took pics of each plant, as well as 1 pistil covered bud for each one of them.
They are still in the mid-bloom stage of nutrients, but have moved along to step 5. It’s no different from the previous step, so nothing new.
Each plant received half a gallon of water mixed with the following nutrients.
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 4.7 ml
FloraGro - 3.8 ml
FloraBloom - 8.5 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
Liquid KoolBloom - 2 ml
I mixed 2 gallons for the 4 plants, and both gallons had an initial pH of 6.5 and didn’t need adjusting.
Each plant gave back plenty of runoff with the following pH levels:
#1, 3, & 4 - 5.8
#2 - 6.0
The temperature in the tent was 79.7F, with humidity at 54%.
Plants are looking wonderful! Happy growing everyone!
7/12/22
As with most of my ongoing diaries, yesterday was their normal feeding day, but I got busy and ran out of time.
No damage done. The plants are looking healthy, and continuing to develop nicely. Having so many plants flowering at the same time, but in different stages of growth is somewhat cool. Especially when I have 3 separate diaries for the same cultivar (DarkStar), due to success in cloning this time around.
I get to see what they will become when looking at their mother, but also what they were by looking at their younger sisters. 🤷 I think it’s nice anyway.
Today, as with all feeding days, I mixed 2 separate gallons to feed my Cuatro. Each received 1/2 gallon, and all but one (#1), gave back a sufficient amount of runoff.
They were given the same nutrient level as earlier this week, so look above to see the quantities mixed with a gallon of water.
Both had an initial pH of 6.5, and wasn’t adjusted. As mentioned above, #1 did not give me enough runoff to measure, but #2 was 6.1, #3 was 5.8, and #4 was 5.6.
The tent was 82.6F, with humidity at 50%. Each plant has room now, so all is good in my grow room!
Happy growing everyone!
7/14/22
Today was feeding time again for Stella’s lovely 4 daughters. They’re still receiving the same level of nutrients as at the start of this week, no change. Except today I had to use 3 ml’s of pH UP.
I mixed 2 gallons for the 4 to share as always. Each containing the same nutrients.
One gallon an initial pH of 5.9, and the other 5.8. I added the pH UP as noted above which adjusted them to 6.2, and 6.3. #1 & #2 received the gallon with 6.2, and #’s 3&4 received the 6.3.
The runoff was as follows:
#’s 1, 3, & 4 - 5.4
#2 - 5.7
I started the day by calibrating my pH meter using a new pH buffer solution which may have presented problems today. Who knows? I’ll recalibrate it tomorrow and test it.
Their tent was 81.4F, with humidity at 55%. I adjusted the fan for better airflow (hopefully).
They look wonderful. Happy growing everyone!
7/16/22
I had some issues getting the pH just right today, and ran out of time while I was still feeding my ladies. I didn’t get them back in the tent until 5 minutes after the lights went out. It shouldn’t be a big problem, but I shouldn’t make a habit out of it.
Today my girls moved up to the Late Bloom, step 6 nutrients. I mixed 2 gallons with water with the new nutrient levels, of which each plant received a half gallon.
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 3.8 ml
FloraGro - 3.8 ml
FloraBloom - 4.2 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml
Plants #1 & 2 share one, and #3 & 4 share the other. The initial pH of gallon 1 was 5.9, and gallon2 6.0. I added 3.5 ml of pH UP to each which adjusted 1 - 6.5, and 2 - 6.6.
They all gave back sufficient runoff except #3. Hera was enough to measure, but barely. All of their runoff pH levels were very, very low.
#1 - 5.4
#2 - 5.6
#3&4 - 5.2
The tent was 81.7F, and humidity was 56%.
I only got pics for #4,3, & 2. I was to rushed for #1. Oops. Happy growing everyone!
7/18/22
I changed out all of my water jugs for new ones to see if that would help solve the pH issue I was having the other day. It seemed to help some.
My Cuatro are still receiving the new late bloom stage nutrients that was started 2 days ago on Saturday.
They are still receiving 1/2 gallon of solution, so I mixed two gallons for them to share as usual.
Their initial pH levels were much better than the other day. Gallon 1 for plants 1&2, was 6.2, and the other gallon was 6.1.
I could have left them there, but I added 2 ml’s of pH UP to each which adjusted their pH to 6.5, and 6.4.
Runoff was sufficient and was measured as follows:
#1 & 3 - 5.4
#2 - 5.6
#4 - 5.3
All of the runoff pH was lower than I like to see, so I’ll keep an eye on it.
The tent temperature was 83.3F, with humidity at 58%.
Some of their white pistils are already starting to turn orange, and they seem to be starting to fatten up a bit too. I can’t wait to harvest all of my super large plants to see what type of yields they’re going to give me!
Happy growing everyone!
7/21/22
Stella’s Cuatro are starting to fatten up their buds, and their pistils are starting to turn orangish pink in color, and they have started to smell very strong! It’s really nice to see their progress since I have bent and reshaped them several times over the last few weeks.
They’re continuing with the same level of nutrients as earlier in the week. I missed feeding them yesterday as planned, so today they looked rather droopy again, but bounced back after getting fed.
DarkStar is an extremely resilient cultivar, and I’m very thankful for that. Today they each received half a gallon of solution from two gallons mixed for them.
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 3.8 ml
FloraGro - 3.8 ml
FloraBloom - 4.2 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml
They both had an initial pH of 5.8. I added 5 ml’s of pH UP which adjusted them both to 6.5.
#3 has more soil in her pot and did not give back any runoff, but the others were as follows:
#1 - 6.0
#2 - 5.9
#4 - 5.5
The tent was 83.9F, with humidity at 52%.
All of them have started to fatten up their buds, and their smell has increased substantially. Very nice.
Have a wonderful day, and happy growing everyone!
7/23/22
Today starts week 9 in the life cycle of Stella’s Cuatro. They’re moving up to the late bloom step 7 on my feed chart today, which is pretty much the same as step 6. Since it’s a new week, I’ll list everything out for you.
Today each plant received half a gallon of water mixed with the following nutrients:
CALiMAGic - 2 ml
FloraMicro - 3.8 ml
FloraGro - 3.8 ml
FloraBloom - 4.2 ml
Floralicious Plus - 2 ml
Liquid KoolBloom - 1 ml
I mix 2 separate gallons with all the same nutrients for the 4 plants to share. #1 & 2 share one gallon, and #3 & 4 share the other.
Gallon 1 had an initial pH of 6.1, and gallon 2 - 6.0. I added 2 ml of pH UP to each which adjusted them to 6.4, and 6.3 respectively.
They are large plants, and all of them gave back enough runoff to measure except #3. She’s a stingy girl who likes to keep it all to herself.
All kidding aside; you should want to get about 20% of your feeding solution back as runoff in a perfect world, but that would mean I would have to do so much more to give them more, and honestly I’m too lazy to do it. Nothing else to say except the truth. It’s all on me; the grower.
They all look healthy, and all of them have started to fatten up their buds where it’s truly wonderful to look at them. Their bent branches tend to get in the way a lot, and make them want to sway, but they all stand up well on their own.
The runoff pH was as follows:
#1 & 2 had a pH of 5.6
#4 was 5.4
The tent was 83.7F, and humidity was 54%.
I forgot to get an individual pic of #1 today, but I added a pic of all the plants in my big tent, and she is the plant in the front on the right side.
Oh, I also had to bend 2 long/tall branches over today as well, so we did some High Stress Training (HST) today as well.
Happy growing everyone!
7/25/22
Today was another feeding day for my Cuatro, and I also decided to start their last defoliation session before we get too far along. It took so long that I only got to 2 of the 4.
All of them were fed, but only #1 & #2 got defoliated. It took a long time, but each of them look better for it. My hope is that the plants take the nutrients and use them to fatten up their buds and not for continued leaf growth.
All of the leaves removed today were large, and most of them had stems and weren’t needed for bud growth. I hope. As with any stress put on the plants, it’s a waiting game to see how it responds afterward.
Today each plant received half a gallon of fresh water mixed with the late bloom nutrients. They are the same as the 23rd, so look above if you’re curious.
The initial pH for both gallons was 6.0. I added 2.5 ml’s of pH UP which adjusted them both to 6.5.
They all gave back runoff today, which is nice since #3 didn’t give any back the other day. All 4 of them have pH levels lower than desired.
#1 & 3 - 5.3
#2 - 5.5
#4 - 5.2
One generally wants their runoff pH to be between 5.5 and 6.2. They all look healthy so I’m not that worried about it right now.
The tent temperature was 82.1F, and the humidity was 58%.
In addition to defoliating #1 & 2 today, I tried rearranging their branches a bit too, but nothing drastic.
Right now I’m happy about how they’re doing, and how they’re developing, so no real worries. Happy growing everyone!
7/27/22
Time to feed my Ladies again, and Stella’s Cuatro are happy to see me. At least I hope they are.
I mixed 2 gallons of water and nutrients again today for each of my plants to share half a gallon each. They are still receiving the same level of nutrients, so I won’t list them again here in this note.
After mixing the solutions up, they both had an initial pH of 6.0. I added 2.5 ml’s of pH UP to each gallon which adjusted them both to 6.4.
All 4 plants gave back runoff to measure today, so that’s a plus.
#1 & 3 - 5.2
#2 - 5.5
#4 - 5.3
The tent was 80.6F, and humidity was 55%.
I wanted to defoliate #3 & 4 today, didn’t get the time to do it. Actually, after spending a bunch of time defoliating my Stella’s Duo yesterday, I’m not really upset about it. I’ll get to them soon enough.
I’d like for the runoff pH to be somewhat higher, but none of the plants are looking bad or in any distress, so I’m not going to worry about it all that much.
My garden is fine, and I hope yours is too. Happy growing everyone!
7/29/22
Today is a big day for my Cuatro. It’s the last day of week 9, but also the last day for the late bloom nutrients. Next feed day they’ll begin the ripening stage! Just 4 weeks left till harvest.😁
I didn’t take any full pics of the plants today. Instead, I took a couple of pictures of some of the buds on each plant. I also wanted to get #3 & 4 defoliated today, but I wasn’t in the mood to take all the time needed to do it. Normally I want to do it, and run out of time. However, today I had plenty of time and just didn’t want to do it. 🤷♂️ That’s life in a nutshell isn’t it.
Today each of my ladies received half a gallon of late bloom nutrients mixed into 2 gallons of water as usual.
The initial pH of gallon 1 was 5.9, and gallon 2 was 5.8. I added 3 ml, and 3.5 ml of pH UP respectively. This adjusted both of the gallons pH to 6.5.
Each had sufficient runoff today.
#1, 3, & 4 - 5.2
#2 - 5.5
The runoff pH levels have been low the past couple of weeks, but I haven’t noticed any deficiencies in any of the plants.
They all continue to look and smell great. The tent was 82.6F, and humidity was 61%. Soon they will have more space in the tent, and then it will be time to harvest.
I can’t wait!! Happy growing everyone!
7/31/22 - 8/1/22
I’ve listed two dates on this note because I started feeding my girls yesterday, but only finished #3 and #4 before needing to stop due to exterior circumstances. I finished feeding the other two ladies today and took all the pictures (8/1/22).
Stella’s Cuatro have begun the ripening stage, and will continue receiving the ripening nutrients mixed in 2 gallons of water for the 4 of them to share.
Their new nutrient levels include:
FloraMicro - 5 ml
FloraBloom - 15 ml
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
Dry KoolBloom - 0.5 tsp
The initial pH of both gallons was 5.3. I added 13 ml’s of pH UP to adjust them to 6.3.
Numbers 3 & 4 were fed yesterday, and the tent was 80.3F, and humidity 55%. Numbers 1 & 2 were fed today and the tent was 81.7F, with humidity close at 58%.
Each of them gave back sufficient runoff to check their pH.
#1 - 5.4
#2 - 5.7
#3 & 4 - 5.1
I still haven’t gotten around to defoliating #3 & 4, but I will before it gets too late. All four of them are doing well and are fattening their buds quite nicely.
I took pics of the plants as well as buds from each plant for your viewing pleasure.
Happy growing everyone!
8/3/22
My Cuatro are tiring! If it was just the 4, it would be ok, but it’s not just the 4 of them in my garden! I have them, and the 3 other diaries, and 4 additional plants that make the 4 of them so tiring.
I have to laugh a little after complaining about that problem. I wish ALL of life’s little problems were as stressful and tiring!
They are all doing well, and developing their buds quite nicely. Because of all their twisted and bent branches, they tend to be tediously awkward when moving them around. They tend to want to lean to one side or the other, and then I get to be the one who gets them sorted out to stand straight up on their own. It gets tiring.
Today I mixed 2 more gallons of water with the ripening nutrients for them to share.
I’ll refer to them as “G-1” or “G-2”. Today, G-1 had an initial pH of 5.4, and G-2 was 5.3. I added 13 ml’s of pH UP to each which adjusted them both to 6.4.
#3 was stingy again and decided not to give back any runoff. Her pot contains more soil than the other 3, and she tends to be stingy at times with her runoff. I know it’s bad, but honestly, she’s still doing great and harms no issues, so I’m not freaking out about it.
The other 3 gave back enough to measure.
#1 - 5.4
#2 - 5.6
#4 - 5.8
The tent was 82.3F, and humidity was 52%.
Their mother is about ready for harvest, and these 4 Ladies aren’t far behind. Happy growing everyone!
8/6/22
I got pushed back a day in the feeding of all my ladies because my wife returned from an extended trip. I got a little preoccupied with spending time with her, and hearing about her trip instead of feeding my girls.
I don’t regret it either.
My ladies are still doing well, and they are continuing the ripening stage of their nutrients. However, I ran into quite the hiccup! I ran out of my Dry KoolBloom powder the last feeding day, and haven’t even ordered or bought the replacement. Then, today I ran out of my FloraBloom nutrient as well. 😳
My ladies did not get their full strength nutrients today. I’ll list what they should have received, but I’ll put what they actually received in parenthesis.
I mixed 2 gallons as usual, so we’ll have G1 for plants 1 & 2, and G2 for plants 3 & 4.
G1
FloraMicro - 5 ml
FloraBloom - 15 ml (12 ml)
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
Dry KoolBloom - .5 tsp (0)
Liquid KoolBloom - 0 (1 ml)
G2
FloraMicro - 5 ml
FloraBloom - 15 ml (11 ml)
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
Dry KoolBloom - .5 tsp (0)
Liquid KoolBloom - 0 (1 ml)
I exchanged the Liquid KoolBloom for the Dry KoolBloom because it’s the only thing I have at this time.
The initial pH for G1 was 6.0. G2 was 5.9. I added 2.5 ml’s of pH UP to G1, and 3 ml’s to G2. Both had a final pH of 6.4.
I believe going an extra day without water and nutrients may have improved their root pH because all 4 of them were higher today than they have since around the middle of July. Their runoff pH were as follows:
#1 - 5.6
#2 - 5.8
#3 - 6.0
#4 - 5.8
They looked a little dry and droopy as one may expect, but overall still healthy and developing their buds. They don’t look like they’re going to produce as much as their mother, but they still have a few weeks to fatten up.
Their tent was 85.9F, and the humidity was 48%.
I still need to defoliate # 3 & 4, but I’m sure I’ll eventually get to it. Happy growing everyone!
8/9/22
Today was a devastating and costly day in my grow room. I sit here writing this at the end of the day, and I’m heartbroken after looking back at what should have been a pleasant day.
I learned a very valuable lesson today that I could have done without learning at all, but it is what it is.
The lesson I learned was to leave all my anger and frustration outside my grow room. I was in the process of moving their mother out in order to start harvesting her. When I was trying to rearrange the plants within the tent, 2 of them (#3 & 4) refused to stay and stand up where I wanted them too.
I wasn’t angry at them, but I allowed two plants to push me to a point where I snapped and just picked them both up in a clenched fist and just picked them right out of their pots and broke about every branch on them.
My wife was helping me at the time, and she was not happy. I was not happy. Within 5 seconds I immediately regretted what I did, and I have no excuse for it.
#4 was beyond salvaging and was cut up to harvest. It’s about 2.5 weeks early, but she should dry ok and give me plenty of smokable bud. However, her affects will be somewhat different from any of her sisters, or her mother. That may not be a terrible thing, but it is definitely not what I wanted.
#3 may be saved, but so far it’s not looking good. My wife and I spent about an hour or more taping and taping and taping broken branches back together. She is so battered that she can’t even try to stand on her own and had to be tied up where her mother was earlier in the day. Her mother was tied up because she was too heavy to stand on her own, which is totally different and more acceptable.
I totally expect to have to cut her up tomorrow in order to salvage what she has developed already.
That is what happened in my grow room today. I lost control of my anger and probably cost myself two exceptional, and healthy plants. Right now the Cuatro is a Trio, and will most likely end up being a Duo.
They each were fed the usual half gallon of water mixed with the ripen nutrients.
FloraMicro - 5 ml
FloraBloom - 15 ml
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
Dry KoolBloom - 0.5 tsp
I mixed 2 gallons as always. They both had initial pH’s of 5.6. I added 12 ml of pH UP to each gallon which adjusted them both to 6.5.
The runoff for #3 was the exact same as the solution going in at 6.5. I believe this is due to the solution running right through the agitated soil after having been terribly mishandled.
#1 was 5.9, and #2 was 6.0. #4 was chopped up for an early harvest.
Their tent was 85.5F, and humidity was 47%.
I am extremely embarrassed by my own behavior today, but it IS what happened in my diary, therefore I’m sharing it all with you.
Growing is enjoyable, and normally makes me happy. Today however, was anything but happy in my grow room. I hope that happiness reigns supreme in each of your grow rooms. Happy growing everyone.
8/11/22
Today is feeding day for my Cuatro, that has sadly, and also happily become a Trio.
If anyone is actually reading and paying attention to my diary, then you already know about my outburst the other day that cost me one plant, and potentially a second. The sad part is that #4 is already in pieces waiting to be trimmed still. But, and it’s still a little on the edge, but #3 looks like she may actually survive. That’s the happy part, but not exactly jumping for joy happy.
#3 still has plenty of green leaves that appear to have been saved. Some may still die, but overall she looks like she may make it. I’m hopeful, yet still unbelievably sad and upset with myself.
I only mixed one gallon today because half of the gallon used to feed #3 the other day was still left because I didn’t feed #4 because she was destroyed (by me). I ran into an issue that turned out to be not such a big issue.
I ran out of pH UP today, and needed about 12 ml’s, but only had 4 ml’s left. I’ve already ordered more, and it should be delivered tomorrow or Saturday.
Regardless, this is how today went. My girls are still in the ripening stage till this Saturday when they begin the flush. This is how the mixing went; they received:
FloraMicro - 5 ml
FloraBloom - 15 ml
Floralicious Plus - 1 ml
Dry KoolBloom - 0.5 tsp
The initial pH was 5.5. I added 4 ml’s of pH UP which adjusted it to 6.0. I normally want it between 6.2 - 6.5, but 6.0 is all I could get today. The gallon from the other day given to #3 was 6.5.
All 3 of my ladies gave back a good deal of runoff with the following pH levels:
#1 - 5.3
#2 & 3 - 5.5
The tent was 82.6F with a humidity of 52%.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for #3. Happy growing everyone!
8/13/22
Melancholy has set in over the past few days in the aftermath of my outburst. I know that listing my thoughts and feelings here are not the norm, so allow me to apologize for including them in my diary, but it is my way.
I fed my plants yesterday, 8/13/22, but I didn’t get around to writing the logs till today.
We have started week 12, and my ladies have graduated to the flush. Each of them received a half gallon of fresh, properly pH’ed water.
The initial pH for both gallons from the tap was 7.5. I added 0.4 ml of pH DOWN to adjust them both to 6.4.
All 3 of the remaining plants gave back sufficient runoff with the following pH levels:
#1 - 5.4
#2 - 5.6
#3 - 5.5
#1 and #2 are both doing well. #3 has some parts of the plant that are still doing well, but there are some buds, and smaller branches that look as though they’re not going to make it. I took 2 pictures of her for all of you to see.
Whenever I think about what I did to my beloved plants, I’m hit by an overwhelming sense of shame. #4 has dried and I still need to trim it and put it into jars to cure. I didn’t get a wet weight for it, so I’ll only be able to add it’s dry weight to the end result if this diary.
The tent was 84.4F, with humidity at 44%.
Sending my best wishes, and luck to all of you and your gardens. Happy growing everyone! I’m still trying to regain my own, but it will take time.
8/15/22
Feeding time again in The_Good_Twin grow room, and today I’m actually writing out my logs on the same day. As I begin to catch up after the extra work my outburst caused, I’m feeling more like myself.
Today my living trio are continuing to receive fresh, properly pH’ed water for the flush. I still had the second half of the gallon prepared for #3 & 4, since #4 is no more, #3 finished it off today.
The gallon prepared for #1 & 2 had an initial pH of 7.5. I added 0.4 ml of pH DOWN which adjusted the pH to 6.4. The other half gallon for #3 was also at 6.4.
All of them gave back plenty of runoff with the following pH levels:
#1 - 5.4
#2 - 5.6
#3 - 5.5
It’s a cooler, rainy day today, so the tent was at 80.8F, with humidity at 46%.
#1 and #2 are still doing wonderful, and look as though they’re going to yield quite nice amounts of prime bud! #3 is beginning to show which parts of the plant are going to make it, and which parts are not. Luckily for me, it seems that more is doing well than what is not.
Since tomorrow is a non-feed day, I’ll probably use that time to prune off the parts that aren’t going to make it so I can concentrate more on the parts that are.
Things are almost back to normal in my grow room. I’d like to say thanks to GrowingGrannie for the kind words and encouragement. It means a lot!
Happy growing everyone!
8/18/22
Today I decided that I couldn’t put it off an longer, so I finally took the time to look through #3 and cut away all of the parts that didn’t make it. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much was still doing well. I didn’t expect it to be as good as it turned out to be. The branches and buds I cut away today look fine as well. They just look like dried buds.
I went on a day trip out of town yesterday, so I didn’t get to feed my girls on their regular feed day. Today they all looked fine and didn’t suffer from an extra dry day.
I mixed two gallons as always. One for #1 & 2, and another for #3. She gets to use the second half of the gallon on Saturday. Both gallons ended up the same regardless. Both had an initial pH of 7.5. I added 0.4 ml of pH DOWN to each gallon which adjusted their pH to 6.3.
All of the plants gave back runoff with the following pH:
#1 - 5.7
#2 - 5.9
#3 - 5.4
Their tent was 83.9F, with humidity at 44%.
They have pretty much completed their first week of the flush, and have at least one more week to go before harvesting begins. I plan on dry trimming what was cut off today and starting it’s curing process.
Unfortunately, #4 went into the trash. I started to trim it the other day, and I didn’t like the way some of the buds were looking. I figured it was safer to just trash the whole thing instead of trying to figure out what was good, and what wasn’t.
Throwing away, or giving away entire plants is something that I never thought I’d ever do. I’ve done both in the last couple of months, but it’s even nicer seeing that I’ll still be fine afterwards!
Happy growing everyone!
8/21/22
As I get closer to the very end of my current grow season, the other things in life seem to be seeping in to try and take my attention away from what NEEDS to be done.
What I mean by that is; today, as I write this, is 8/23/22. Yet, I haven’t written the logs for 8/21/22. I was coaxed away from writing my logs immediately after feeding finished, and my attention has been kept elsewhere until it’s feeding time again.
So I get behind, and I absolutely HATE getting behind because catching up can be a b!+€h.
Here is the down and dirty for the 8/21 feeding:
I prepared 1 gallon of flushing solution (properly pH’ed fresh water), because the gallon for #3 is used by her on two days since #4 was destroyed. However, the new gallon turned out the same as hers, so documenting is easy.
The initial pH was 7.5, I added 0.4 ml of pH DOWN which adjusted it to 6.3.
Runoff was sufficient with the following pH levels:
#1 - 5.7
#2 - 5.8
#3 - 5.5
The tent temperature was 83.9F, and humidity was 44%.
Their buds are fat and beautiful like their mother!! I just finished her harvest, and her total yield was 7.317 ounces dry and in the jars! I’m hoping for something similar from these 3.
Happy growing everyone!

Hello 👋. This is the 2nd log that I’ve written today, but at least this one is actually for today! After catching up on my logs earlier, I got right to feeding my ladies, and I don’t plan on getting behind again.
I mixed 2 more gallons of fresh water with the appropriate amount of pH DOWN to give each of my ladies half a gallon to continue with the flush.
Each was initially 7.5, then I added 0.4 ml of pH DOWN to each which adjusted the pH of both gallons to 6.3.
All 3 of the remaining plants gave back plenty, so their runoff pH levels were:
#1 - 5.4
#2 - 5.6
#3 - 5.3
All 3 of them are still looking wonderful, and I’ll get some trichome pics later on this week to see if we’re ready to begin harvesting next weekend or not.
The tent temp was 80.1F, and the humidity was 49%.
The end is in sight. Happy growing everyone!

Feeding time again, and this time the logs are being written on time. We have to celebrate the tiny victories sometimes.
My 3 ladies are doing well, and their buds are getting pretty big. Harvest time is almost upon us! I took trichome pics of each plant today, and all 3 of them are showing me that they are ready to be harvested. I have a lot of pics to post today for each of them.
They’re continuing with the flush, so fresh, properly pH’ed water is all they received. #3 still had the 2nd half of her solution from the other day, so she was given that. Luckily, the gallon prepared for #1&2 today was the same both before, and after the adjustment.
The gallon had an initial pH of 7.5. I added 0.4 ml of pH DOWN to it which adjusted the pH to 6.3.
Each of my ladies gave back plenty of runoff to measure. The runoff pH for each was:
#1 - 5.4
#2 - 5.6
#3 - 5.5
Their tent was 81.4F, and humidity was 49%.
Once I start harvesting them, I plan on doing 1 plant at a time so that I don’t overwhelm myself.
Growing can be very difficult, but doing it well is so rewarding. Happy growing everyone!

After putting it off for way, way too long, I finally trimmed and weighed the branches I cut off of #3 back on 8/18/22.
They were dry-dry, so all I had to do was trim them. Once trimmed, I weighed them on the dry branches to get that weight as well. Finally, I separated the buds and weighed them to add to the total once I finish harvesting the rest of #3.
I was surprised by how much this partial harvest yielded.
The dry, trimmed buds on the branches was: 1.422 ounces. I normally get this weight to compare it with how much it weighed wet. In this case I don’t have that figure, so it’s mainly moot.
The actual partial harvest weight I will later add to the total harvest for #3 was: 1.079 ounces.
It’s funny to think that I already have a nice ounce + of curing bud, from a plant I haven’t completed harvesting yet.
The world of weed is weird sometimes, but usually in a good way. Happy growing everyone!

I started harvesting #3 today, but I only took about 8 branches from the lower part of the plant. I left the rest of her in the tent to keep on keeping on till tomorrow when I’ll take some more.
I trimmed what I cut today and got the wet-trimmed weight, then hung them up to start drying.
I harvested my last plant in this fashion and I really liked it. The branches start dying and drying out as soon as you cut it from the tree. If it’s a large plant; like these are, then only cutting the amount you can trim at one time leaves the rest of the plant traumatized a bit (maybe), but it’s still alive.
This isn’t a harvest log entry, it’s a feeding entry. Because these are large plants and they tend to take a while to trim, I decided to feed #1 and #2 today.
They received a half gallon each of fresh, properly pH’ed water. I’m a day behind in their feeding, and normally I like to let them dry up in their roots so that the plant itself is in need of water, but is still healthy when harvest begins.
I let extra days go by with their mother and all of her leaves dried up completely and she looked like a ragged mess. Although her bud was perfect once she was trimmed.
The point is that it is going to take me a couple of days to finish up with #3, and the water today will keep them healthy until I get to them. This is my last “planned” feeding for both of them. We’ll have to see how that plan goes.
The initial pH of the gallon of water was 7.4. I added 0.4 ml of pH DOWN to adjust the pH to 6.5.
They were both very dry and only gave back a small amount of runoff, but enough to test.
#1 - 5.6
#2 - 5.7
The tent was 85F and humidity was 46%.
This should be the last entry for this week. I’m currently in the process of harvesting #3 and will move on to the others as soon as I’m done with her. She did not get fed today so she continues to use every last drop while I harvest her.
Multiple plant harvests are tiring! I’m shocked at the number of plants that some of you grow at once on here. Not shocked in a bad way. More liked shocked in amazement!
Happy growing everyone!
9/1/22
I finished harvesting #3 today and finally got started on #2. I wanted to let them dry up before I started harvesting #2 and 3, but it is taking longer than I’d like.
For that reason, today I gave them some water, but only half as much as they normally get. I only want them to get enough to keep the leaves that are still alive to stay that way till I can harvest them.
They are looking fine, as you can see from the pics I uploaded with this note. The harvest is taking a little longer than I’d hoped for, so I’m applying a simple stopgap measure in place to mitigate it a little, but not a lot.
I thought that my last note for this group was already done, but time shows that not all plans are full proof.
We do what we can, and hope (plan) for the best. Happy growing everyone.
9/6/22
I had hoped to have everything harvested for this diary by now, but I’m not even close.
We had some houseguests this past weekend, and I didn’t even bother to try and do anything while they were here. Not because I couldn’t, but because I’d rather see and spend time with my friends than trim, trim, and trim till my hands cramp up. No regrets at all!
Both plants that are left to harvest have only been receiving half the amount of water every couple of days instead of the full half gallon they normally get.
I haven’t been trying to do anything except keep them alive and from drying out completely like their mother did.
I’ve already finished #3 to the point that she’s already been put into jars for curing. I have all of her final data and everything, but you’ll have to wait till the harvest report for all of that. I put some of it in last weeks report, but the final will be saved till the harvest report.
I said last week that I was hoping it would be my last weekly report, but as I’ve said many times; sometimes life gets in the way; but life is to be lived while you’re alive!
Till I finally get everything harvested, I may need to keep making these little notes and additions. Hopefully I’ll be done very soon!
Happy growing everyone!

I know that there may be a couple of people out there wondering what’s going on with this grow, and I apologize for the long pause in reporting.
I have nearly everything in order, so pleased stay tuned for the harvest report coming very soon to finalize this grow.
For those of you whom have stuck around to see the end result, check back soon.
Happy growing everyone!

I started this grow by planting 3 seeds. From those three, one turned out to be male and went the way of the Dodo into the trash. The other two were of different cultivars, one being the mother of the plants cared for, mistreated at times, but undoubtedly loved here in Stella’s Cuatro/Trio.
The mistreated is from me destroying #4, hence the change to Stella’s Trio, and nearly destroying #3.
A lot has happened during this grow that has kept me from completing the harvest till way, way after it began; but I won’t bring all that up again. If you’ve followed this diary, then you already know the drama that ensued.
This report is going to be somewhat different than my other diary harvest reports, and for that I apologize. This won’t be as detailed as my previous submissions, but will still contain all the data necessary to complete it nonetheless.
Harvest began partially on 8/27/22 after the damaged parts of #3 were harvested, dried, and put in jars to cure. I made reports to this effect and uploaded pics at that time. I finished the rest of #3 that survived the assault a week later, finishing it up on 9/6/22.
Just after this, on 9/9/22, I got smashed in the face by a softball and got pretty messed up. Broken nose, shattered bone along the bridge of my nose, black eyes, swollen face, couldn’t breathe well for the next 10 days. Had to have surgery to fix the damage. It sucked, and put me farther behind.
I didn’t start #2 until 9/16/22, and didn’t finish till 9/20/22. Then, I didn’t do a damn thing for two weeks.
I fell into a short funk and didn’t want to do anything! I mean nothing, and I’m not only referring to my plants. I felt such dread at even continuing, until I finally said enough and just got to #1.
I didn’t finish harvesting #1 until 10/10/22. I allowed #1 to dry, and die on the tree. It was completely dry when I cut and trimmed the branches which made my trim bag look like a bag of weed itself.
Once I finished trimming #1, I simply separated her nugs from her branches and jarred them up to start curing. They’re probably cured a little already, but at least now they are rejoined with their sisters, and mother sitting in quart sized mason jars.
As I mentioned before, this report is going to be somewhat different from my previous harvest reports in that I didn’t get the wet weight for all of my plants this grow because the harvest was so erratic. All I can do is give the dry bud, or true harvest weights for each plant, then total as a whole.
The total harvest (bud) weight of #3 was : 2.467 ounces.
The total harvest (bud) weight of #2 was: 3.138 ounces.
The total harvest (bud) weight of #1 was: 2.912 ounces.
Therefore, the final harvest weight of Stella’s Trio is: 8.517 ounces.
I can’t even begin to describe the feeling of relief that came over me once this diary was completed! Honestly, this grow tested my limits of sanity one too many times, and in the end resulted in my Cuatro being reduced to a Trio. I could have easily had at least another 2.5-3 ounces if #4 had survived, but 🤷♂️. What’s one to do?
I am very pleased at how all of the bud turned out. It all smells wonderful, and has provided enough for many good nights out on the deck after a hard, difficult, trying day.
I only have Stella’s Duo to harvest now, and then my garden will be empty for a well deserved break before the next batch begins.
I’d like to thank all of you whom have stopped by to read my diary, and I hope that each of you can glean at least a little bit of knowledge to use in your own grows.
A word of advice; check your frustration and anger at the grow room door. Nothing good comes from growing angry. This diary is proof of that!
This concludes the grow diary for Stella’s Trio. Take care, and happy growing everyone!
