Started growing nicely no issues with the plants, humidity is low where I live I later invested in a humidifier, then a larger one.

Plants aren't growing very fast and roots were kind of slimy. I found that my reservoir temps were getting high so I began to use frozen water bottles to cool the reservoir.

Plants seem to be responding well to lower reservoir temps. This is my first time growing so I'm not sure if I'm doing the LST correctly, but it looks good to me. The roots are still a little slimy so I bought ingredients to make compost tea for next week.

Started using compost tea I brew myself, says 48tsp per gallon because there's no option for 1 cup. Plants roots look much healthier and growth is explosive this week. I've hung my unused lights to provide more light going to encourage more growth.

This week I jacked up the bloom nutrient to see if the plant can handle it and if it'll make the buds bigger. Thursday, added some pictures. Noticed some burned tips and clawing, going to lower micro a lot and drop bloom around 10%

Smell is getting stronger, buds seem a little thicker, keeping an eye on the trichomes getting ready to see what kind of harvest we'll get. Took some pictures with my wife's camera, a little better quality but I'm still no photographer. And added some trichome pictures.

Flushing this week and watching trichomes in the home stretch. I don't think they're too terrible considering the issues I had in the beginning. I'll update on weights when it's time to chop. 7/5 chopped my bottom two plants, I think the top two plants will be a couple days later. The bottom plants didn't have much side growth like the top plants basically one cola style of growth. I trimmed out some of the stem but left most of the leaves(mostly sugar leaves) wet weight for the bottom two was 67grams 7/9 chopped the top two plants they were much nicer looking. Got 134g off the top two plants. 201g total. I'll update later when it's all dry with the final weight. 7/13 was out of town for the past 4 days due to work. Trimmed bottom plants when I got home tonight, they seemed a little over dry. Final dry weight was 10 grams. 7/15 trimmed the top plants their final weight was 21 grams. So a total of 31g for the 4 plants.

This is gonna be a small grow. I see alot of good ideas here, but like my first grow its a journey! I tried Autopots my first time and it didnt go as good as i hoped! but i still loved it! Dont be afraid to change things up next grow. or dial it in more!!!! But i swear by 3gal fabric pots in Bushdoctor CocoLoco! I use the whole General Hydroponics lineup. I was hand watering but now do a flood and drain during flower. This is a good run! I just see you and want u to know it only gets better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!💪

@Rolandr88, i think i have this strain in my catalogue too.... so many grows to get to! but i've lost most of the Fastbuds Strains i've grown!

@MrHightimes, Thanks for your comments and checking out my grow. This is completely new to me so I was feeding my nutes based on an article I read, I'll amp up the bloom dosage and see how the girls do on Sunday. I think I stunted them a bit at the beginning, but I wasn't expecting a huge harvest, I believe this strain is supposed to be small (not this small however). I plan on doing another run when I finish this batch, I have 6 more seeds. 😁

Have you determined why your tips are curling? Mine are curling too and I'm wondering if my soil is too hot (high in nutes) for it. Was also thinking maybe its just the strain. But I have no idea lol.
Rolandr88
Rolandr88commented3 years ago
@PhunkyPhallus, I appreciate you looking through, it may be that, I believe I cold water flushed the roots so I don't know how much slime was on the roots, and I change the reservoir every week to clean them, but it is possible I didn't get it all out. I guess the best way to see is to grow more. 😉
PhunkyPhallus
PhunkyPhalluscommented3 years ago
@Rolandr88, I'm pretty sure my plant is now recovering from N toxicity after flushing 4 gallons of water through the soil. So I came back to look through your Diary to see if I noticed where yours started clawing.... I think it was your compost tea. you can see she's just starting to claw at the end of week 5 and by week 6 she's was clawing hard. you used compost tea as a solution to a problem you had fixed. your reservoir temperature was too high causing bacteria to grow then you fixed that and then fed good bacteria and it probably converted all that slime into usable nutes. Anyway take this with a grain of salt. I'm not saying for sure that's what it was but that's what I'd personally bet on.
Rolandr88
Rolandr88commented3 years ago
@PhunkyPhallus, I haven't exactly. Perhaps too much nitrogen from my micro nutrient. I've lowered the levels quite a bit as I'm in late flower, but I haven't seen them bounce back so I'm unsure, let me know if you find any solution during your grow

Hey there friend. Would you be alright with me offering some pointers to help? So cannabis plants LOVE heat and humidity. It is the buds that hate it. In veg we want to take advantage of this fact to help our plants grow along much quicker and more vigorously. In veg we can look for temps of 79-84 MAX with lights on & no more than 9 degrees less with lights off. If we allow for too much temperature swing between lights on and lights off while the plant is still growing vertically up to day 20 of flower, We will cause the plant to stretch ALOT which we do not want. So in veg & early flower, Keeping our temperature gaps nice and close between lights on and off is key. Utilizing humidity in our rooms during veg will also help out a lot with more rapid growth but we must introduce it properly. In our rooms we have our temperature and humidity set-points, But when we combine those 2 it forms a third set-point which is the most important & that is called VPD, Vapor pressure deficit. I strongly recommend every new grower or old grower who has not learned it yet, To study and understand it & implement it into your room, Logging your numbers daily. https://cerescann.com/importance-of-measuring-vpd/ For soil, We generally want to go for a PH of 6.1 Hydro, Aeroponics we like 5.6 - 5.8 This website does a GREAT job of illustrating it with a nice graph & very good detailed explanation for soil. https://autoflowerseedshop.com/cannabis-ph-chart-guide/ As we briefly touched on before, During veg & early flower we want our temperature gap's nice and tight to avoid stretch. Why exactly our plants stretch in response to this is a genetic trigger being activated by the environmental stress essentially telling the plant the end of the season is closer than it really is. In veg & early flower the plant is still in its first stage of development which is to grow up wide and tall so when it produces seed, It can cast them out nicely. Remember, Whether we are growing our plants for seed or bud their genetic responses do not change as they do not know any different. Once the plant has finished that first stage of growth by weeks 4-6 of flower with most strains, It is by day 20 of flower. Autoflowers you have to watch for it, But once the plant has finished this goal its new mission is to focus 100% on producing nice big flower clusters & to get very sticky so it can attract pollen to it successfully. So once that vertical growth is finished, We actually now want to begin to expose our plants to larger temperature swings between lights on and lights off. This will help activate that genetic response and allow us to draw out the most potential from the strain utilizing the plants genetic triggers to environmental stresses at the right times. We can also take this a step further with doing light deprivation in the last 2 weeks using less light to simulate cloud cover. Very cold feed temps on the last flush is very good too. If you do not have them already, Get yourself a good PAR meter & thermal laser temp gun to monitor your plant top temperatures & optimize how much light your plants are getting. One final thing, A fully mature cannabis plant @ peak consumption in flower, Or group of plants needs to consume 3gallons of water in 24hrs to produce 1 dry pound of cannabis. This equation holds true all the way up & it can be 1 plant or 100 plants but to produce each dry pound that plant or group of plants will need to consume 3 gallons in 24hrs. That equation will be true all the way up, 6 gallons in 24hrs your plant or plants will produce 2lbs dry, and so on. A general mistake made early on by growers is not watering the plants with enough for them to yield the way they should. We are currently in the middle of producing a very comprehensive tutorial series for everybody to learn from & understand how to grow the highest level craft cannabis all on their own. Our first 2 installments are focusing on the basic fundamentals and we are using autoflowers for them before moving onto more advanced series with photoperiods. If this interests you please check out our youtube and subscribe. The first 2 episodes are out the next one is coming in a few days. If you should ever have any questions or need any help, Please feel free to follow my profile and shoot me a DM. I will gladly help you with the pull down & make sure you get the best quality harvest possible as it is the most important step of the entire process. Happy growing friend!

@PhunkyPhallus, Top and bottom plants were the same just didn't have the purple in the top plants, smell is nice and citrus like, smoke is smooth with a good high
