French cookie 3x3 grow.

These seeds were hard to germinate,they were a light brown colour. This may be down to storage time of 2 years in the fridge. So 2 health seeds popped and placed straight into finishing pots of 5 gallons .with clay pebbles on top of the light mi. Im also trying a GSC thin mint pheno in a smaller pot of 2 gallons with the same feed. This first picture is one week from seed.

They have just received there second watering, tap water left for three days,with a little bio heaven.

Im using a thick layer of clay pebbles on top of the soil to stop drying out,this should help stop the soil getting too dry for the organic living micro organisms. I will have to attach carbon filter soon,as the smell is getting stronger. The are looking very squat with many side branches coming up now.

I have noticed that the new leaf growth have twisted leaves at the tops,i have seen before and think its sometimes genetic as it disappears quicly,however this doesnt not seem to be getting any better. I have cut down on watering a little and increased light to 60%. Temps have also gone up because of it being summertime at just over 85F so there will be a little heat stress going on. Im adding Bio heaven to water at 1ml litre to help.

I had a problem with the leaf twisting,so i flushed some water through the pots. I had come to the week where i was going to defoliate and train them,but now im a little unsure whether to go ahead as the stress from in imbalance in the root zone maybe a little too much stress together,also the plants seem to be getting wider rather than taller,the branches are thick and quite open already. I dont want them too big as i have to change the GSC plant into a bigger asap to go into flower With 2 underdawg kush in there at a week old it will get crammed. Im going to put them into flower at 2 weeks,because i read they streth alot,we will see how that goes. i will be netting the french cookies this week as i think they will need support. Given a topping at 4th node on one and 3rd on the other.Also i have increased light levels to 75% from the LED at 1 inches. Cutting have been taken from both french cookies,i have one very indica one ,dark wide leaves and chunky stem.The other being more delicate with leaves and stem being more delicate looking and slightly lighter green.I often find that the more sativa phenos are more powerful ,very much so with the more sativa side in the GG4 seeds i have tried,also being the lighter and later finishing ones, Lets see if it applies to this breed..

The plant on the right has stopped twisting,its strange that it was the only one really effected. i raised the Bio heaven to 2ml L which seems to of helped alot. Im adding Nirvana from tomorrow onwards.

At the beginning of third week on 12 hours. The two french cookies look totally opposite to each other.one looking alot more sativa the other more squat one being indica like,its short with not much stretch,much higher leaf ratio also. Having problems with the heat,but not too bad,the leaf twisting has stopped one effected. The girl scout cookies thin mint seed i put in looks almost the same as the french cookies,i presume because they are just different phenos from the original. Started with Nirvana booster yesterday added to the bio heaven. Looking better than a couple of weeks ago.

Everything going ok,apart from temps being higher than desired. I also have a underdawg kush in the tent ,which is taking the left hand corner. Plant are at still nice a green,not much leaf drop at all. The Smell is starting to increase ,i may have to add a second filter!

At the beginning of week 9 now, im still removing large and lower leaves every few days. I found some Thrips in my tent, im sure they came with the soil i last bought. Cutting have been taken from all phenotype s in case something special is in there. Both french cookies are complete opposites of each other,so im looking forward to the difference. For sure the thrips came in on the underdawg kush i placed in there later😔.

I have predators on the way for the thrip problem. i have been giving AN mother earth bloom and PK organic booster from bio tabs. Half instructed dose. There are some great smells coming out of the tent now,sweet and fruity atm,

Im have trouble , the humidity down right now to 70% for the last three days. i have increased airflow maximum to help stop any mold problems occuring. The predators arrived,although i cant see much of a difference yest,i saw lots of baby pred ,bur no adults😬. So now we are at the end of week 6.

At end of week 8 of flowering. Yhe thrips population has exploded,i checked what type of thrips they are. It turns out they are onion thrips, . The predators dont work sp well on this type i have now found out. It explaines the population increase after adding the predators,im going to have to just get these through there last few weeks,and hope it does not effect production badly. Then disinfect the tent and euquiment. Any ideas on slowing them down ? I cant really spray the flowers with anything.

OK,im trying to just get the best i can out of these as they got thrips infection from soil, as they occurred to explode with the heat. I didnt want to spray them in there last two weeks.😥 I have brought them down a hour to make them finish a little quicker and may go down another hour,so on 11 hours . im trying to slow the aphids down as many ways as possible with only another 2-3 weeks of flowering.. The plants are fading into Autumn colours quite quickly,slight purpl ing on some leaves,smell is very pungent! Thin mint GSC is going to be finished before the french cookies,im suprised how different it is the the french cookies, i have not grown the french cookies before. So i have the squat dark pheno and longer sativa looking one,the sativa dom pheno eats a large amout,the squat plant prefers the opposite. i have kept cuttings just in case theres something special in there. The are fairly typical for a sat dom and indica dominant, higher feed,lower light needs ect.🙏

Started on just watering without any additives. Thrips seem to of gone mostly for the Indica leaning pheno of F cookies,GSC was the least effected,and having the best calyx to leaf ratio. I will be cutting the GSC in about 5 days.Now im starting to get some purple -pink colours in leaf and flowers.

Still just running trough with plain water. The are yellowing rapidly,now i know how to use this feed better next time.
