Both seeds were ready to be planted in just a couple days. Pro tip: Never use a paper towels with print on them. They are very acidic because of the ink.
So I did a little lst a few nights ago and when I checked the ladies the next day the top snapped on stardawg so I snipped it off nice and clean. I guess we'll find out how resilient stardawg is to that. So far she's still happy and perky other than some spots on the leaves caused by spraying with colloidal silver. I'm a little concerned that I'm not going to get pollen in time to pollinate Berry as she is obviously quite a bit ahead in her cycle. Time will tell and if not then I'll just collect the pollen and use it on another run.
Ladies are happy. Defoliated just a few leaves from each that were chillin in the dirt. Still spraying lady stardawg but no sign of balls yet. Pictures don't do justice to Berry's purple..All of the buds look like they have oil spilled on them. Reminds me of Mendels Black strap if you've ever seen that.
We have visible confirmation of balls.. Many balls on every branch of stardawg except the two main tops. I'm sure those will show up soon. Berry is beautifully purple. That Blueberry showing up. Everything is going pretty smooth. Did a little defoliation on stardawg. Also gave a little cal/mag and recharge.. Going to introduce some nutes next watering.
Lady stardawg had a rough week. She got pretty deficient ( she's eating way more than Berry ). Do herms eat more from producing both male and female parts? She also had a fan fall on her and broke 3 branches. No matter what I throw at her she's still pushing through. Such a resilient strain which is part of the reason I chose her. Berry on the other hand has been thriving all along. So perdy.
Not a whole lot happening visibly right now but I'm pretty sure we're going to end up with a lot of seeds. I can see they are starting to open up in a few places and the pods are all over. Pretty exciting stuff. Stardawgs job is done and although she is obviously more hungry than berry we are going by what berry wants. The only reason lady stardawg is still in the tent is because there's a chance she could be producing seeds on her two tops as well. If this was a normal run I'd probably be harvesting berry in a week or two but it'll probably be more like 3-4 weeks to make sure we have many viable seeds.
Well normally both of these ladies would be about ready for chop right now but our objective being wildly successful thus far has us waiting for fully developed seeds. That being said there are TONS of seeds on Berry. I pollinated just about every hair by hand 🤣 as an added bonus Stardawg was able to produce some on the two tops I didn't herm. Stardawg is the real star of this grow even though Berry is sure a sexy one. Stardawg has been put through SOOO much stress and has proven to be by far the most resilient auto I've grown. She was accidentally topped. sprayed with colloidal silver. Had a light fall on her and broke 3 branches which were tapped and later tape removed to find perfectly sturdy branches on all 3. All of that and she is still fattening up ( yeild doesn't matter on her as consumption is not in her future.) and she is now producing what appear to be viable seeds. So glad I did this run.
Absolutely a successful harvest. The purpose of this grow has been exceeded. Can't wait to find out how my very own auto strain grows. Next up we have White Widow and California Orange Cheese Photos.
This was a seed run. The stardawg plant went right in the trash after removing the seeds as it was sprayed with colloidal silver. The Berry plant produced 5oz of dry bud after the seeds were removed and that will all be made into bubble hash. The Purple kief it produced tastes purple. Seriously like Kool-aid.
I'm getting ready to try some crossing with the colloidal silver spray for the first time here this fall .. your strain looks fantastic! Stardawg is a cool strain
@Drgreen13, Ya, it's something I've wanted to do for a long time too but I'm in a 3x3x60" myself so I had to time it right. Great harvest on the last run gave me plenty of time to spare a run.
