Sorry for no updates untill now, I dont know why i couldnt edit the 1st week :/ I will be transplanting the autos this week, hopefully tomorrow.. first i have to take care of 2 wasp nests that are unconveniantly near my plants. The girls are looking healthy and all have grown their second set of leafs. As could be seen in the first week, one of the dinamed's never grew.. i dug it up to see and found that the root had broken probably during planting it. It is a shame.. it was the seed that had sprouted the least, probably should of left her to sprout a big more.

The heat has gone up this week, the autos seem to be doing well, the photoperiods are okay, one of them is growing much more that the others, I guess its just genetics. Using a growth fertilizer once a week. Unfortunately I have noticed they have been infested with white fly, so I have gone to buy "potassium salts of fatty acids" aninsecticide soap, so hopefully that will be the end of them. UPDATE: I have used the antiinsectiside soap yesterday and today, but it doesnt seem to be doing anything, the whiteflies just fly around when i spray. I have also seen a very little white spider hanging around, does anyone know if it could be dangerous?

Hi, the bottom leaves have gone yellow on some of them and they have little white spots on the bigger leafs, I have detected whiteflies and assuming that this is caused by them but can anyone confirm this for me or is there another problem I don't know about?? Thanks guys!

Hey, hey if you’ve id’d white flies then I’d start with neem oil as the general “fix-all”. Or if you’ve sourced another foliar spray then perfect - apply and see what happens. Based on your feeding sched. The yellowing prob. Isn’t nute burn. If you’re referring to the cotelydons then they may simply be dying off. I wouldn’t worry too much about this until/if it starts to translate to the actual leaves. I’ve seen it before myself but not until somewhat later. No need to worry just yet though - monitor and see how it goes. 👊👍 good luck dude!

I have started treating the girls with neem oil and I have definitely seen a reduction in the amount of whitefly, I have still found a few so I will continue to spray every 2 days or so until the plants are safe. the autos are doing very well, whereas the photoperiods don't seem very happy at all.. I don't understand the difference, they have the same soil, water and nutrients, because of the yellowing of the leafs I decided to not give any more nutrients to the photoperiods until they have grown bigger. Also I will pot them into the bigger pot this week. hopefully they will recover this week..

Okay first of all, I have marked this week as flowering because my autos have entered flowering, but the photoperiod are still in veg.. so idk howI was supposeds to mark that on the week haha anyway, the autos are big and strong and have white pistiles comming out, they have not grown as much as I had imagined but I guess that has a lot to do with this being my first grow and having learnt some things along the road that I will be able to apply next time round. I applied the flowering nutes as the same brand as the veg and soil, following the recomended dosage thinking that since they are fully grown now, they would handle it fine. But as we can see in the fotos, the next day they hads some marks of nute burn on the leafs, so I flushed the next watering day and today have watered with 1/3rd of the quantitiy of nutes it had said. I have also been able to regulate the water ph to 6.4. The Photoperiod plants seem to be doing quite well! There has been some wind the last few days and I think they are liking it. It looks like they have overcome the yellowing of the leafs from the previous weeks and are doing good now. Lastly although I have been treating the plants with neem oil to get rid of the white fly there still seem to be coming back. I am weary about spraying the flowering plants as I have read lots of people saying how neem oil will affect the buds, so if anyone has any experience with this and could give me some advice I would be very greatful!

Autos are flowering nicely and the photos have grown quite a bit! New leaves comming out :) Some pics are a bit shaken bc it was windy today. Anyway I tried feeding again with nearly 1/3 of what it says to use and I still got quite a bad nute burn.. so I'm not going to feed the autos this week as I think they already have everything they need. The flowers are looking and smelling lovely, I noticed one of the plants leaf has been eaten(?) by some sort of bug, There is a foto so you can see...

Autos are flowering wonderfully Photos have had a nice grow! 1 of them , the Critical+, seems to have started to flower! It surprised me as its still late August and they are getting just over 13 hours of daylight.. although it has been coudy/rainy the past week so maybe that had to do with it(?) I guess not much I can do about it huh I'm still not using the flowering nutes as they seem to be getting all they need atm, i added bat guano towards thew lower half of the soil so I guess that they are happy with it. Anyways, noob question: How do I know when my plants are ready to harvest? 😅

All of the girls have entered Flowering! The autos seem to be doing quite well, not needing much feeding, i guess because they are quite small. The Photos seem also to be doing good and have grown quite a bit. Now to concentrate on making sweet sweey flowers :) Only problem now is whiteflies and some bug that has been munching on the leafs.. I'm hoping that maybe with the temperatue drop the bugs will dye off but idk.. What do you farmers think? Are they looking good? EDIT: I have spotted some brown on one of the buds! woried it could be mold but unsure it could also be nute burn/ deffiency? I have upploaded a photo of it, its the last one! pls can someone have a look to see if they know whatr it is? Thanks!

Hey guys so as you can see in the photos I have a few leaf related problems/concerns, but in general the plants look good. I have been checking the trichomes on the flowering autos and its a bit hard for me to get an idea of if they're ready or not: I see a few cloudy ones, a fair amount of clear ones but also sometimes i find a bunch of amber looking ones. The website says it has 75 days of flowering but I'm already finding amber ones? is this normal? I have tried taking a photo through the microscope lens but i can never get it to focus haha sorry guys! But the amber ones I see arent like fully amber its just the yop of the ball that is amber colored. Anyways if you have any comments comment away hehe :) Ah yes! I wanted to ask if I should just pick off the leafs that are'nt very healthy or should i just let them hang?( I have heard that you shoudn't cut anything while they are in flower becasue it could shock them) Especially on the autos there are quite a few bad leafs.

Okay guys, now this has been an eventful week. unfortunately, I can now only visit my plants on the weekend as I am sutying in another city and the plants are at my parents house. That has translated to the little tiny brown leaf I found last week turning into 3 - 4 semi-rotten buds. So yes, catterpillars. Little pesky green catterpillars were the ones eating the leafs and the ones that have now caused some bud rot on my autoflowers. To wich I have decided to do an emergency early harvest as you can see in the pictures above. Trichomes were more or less 10 - 20 % cloudy depending on the bud and some buds also had quite a few amber so they cound't have been that far from harvest anyway. I cut off the buds with rot and the buds nearst to them. luckily it was only 1 or 2 big buds on 2 of the 3 autos I have. The remaining auto is the foxtailing one witch I have not yet harvested and am now debating if I should just do it to not risk getting rot over this week I am away or let her ripen more. The process was cutting off the bad parts, discarding and then cutting off the buds with the stem off the plant. I have never harvested before so I dont know if it is useally done this way but anyway. After the early harvest wich I am sure many would frown upon I did something even morecontroversial and washed the buds in water+backing soda, water+hidrogen peroxide, just water rince and hung them to dry with a fan in front of them for about 2.5hrs. Now I'm a newb so I dont know if this works, but I read and saw a few posts and videos of people doing and explaining this process, and also asked outdoor growers of reddit to see if this is actually a thing, and yes it seems a few if not many people wash their outdoor buds in some way or another. I washed hoping that if there are any caterpillars in the buds that would kill or at least debilitate them.. none floated off while i was washing though.. so now im scared there are still some in my buds and will rot while im drying :( i checked each bud individually trying not to break them up but didnt find any caterpiullar. i only found one while washing the leafs I had trimmed off the plant before harvesting the buds. Anyway, I have bought anti caterpillar and anti fungal spray for tthe photoperiod plants wich seem to be doing okay. A part from some white powdery stuff on the leafs, maybe powdery mildew? Anyone know what can be done for PM ? Anyway, as usual, thanks for your support and comments! sorry for the long post hehe Edit: Totally forgot to mention this.. I think the foxtailing auto has gone hermaphrodite and polinated the other plants (?) I found a little dark ball at the bottom of one of the buds I have harvested, I picked it off because I didnt knoe if it was rot.. A SEED CAME OUT! Yeah.. So now Im thinking my plants have been pollinated by the foxtailer? Does this make sense? xD

Okay so the buds have been drying in the wardrobe for a week and are dry on the outside, thinking of putting them in jars today as otherwise will have to dry them for another week and I think it might be too much. I kept the trim in a bowl because i wanted to dry it, but when i got back it had gone brown like budrot. I dont think the buds have any rot but I'm kind of paranoid about it as they have changed color but i think its just the normal change due to drying them, can you guys check out the picture and confirm? thanks. The other plants are doing okay, I am spraying weekly BT and something that prevents rot, but took off about 6 small caterpillars off the critical today. I sprayed yesterday so I'm hoping its because it takes a few days to actually get the little fuckers.(I read on the internet it is when they ingest the bt through eating the plant that it affects them). Going to chop down the remaining auto as it has loads of cloudy trichs and a few ambers. Will update with photos of the harvest. most importantly if ppl can just let me know what you think about the color and state of the buds that would be great, thanks!

I tried to post this from my phone but becasue of internet issues appartenly it never posted so im putting 2 weeks in a row: "Okay, as you know I can only visit my plants on the weekend and my parents (bless them) have been watering for me during the week. Unfortunately there was very strong winds for 2 days and the plants got bent quite strongly, I think also this made them dry up faster than usual and so didn't get enough water. I was quite shocked at the state of them when I saw them. I have built them some props with bamboo canes to put them upright. But this is the least of my problems now.. the caterpillars are just out of fucking control and causing many buds to start rotting. I have sprayed weekly for 3 weeks now, and still I am finding and picking off lots of them. I don't know if I should just harvest now instead of letting them get eaten and rotted for another week. Please can you experienced growers give me some advice?? This is the 4th week of flowering. One of them has mostly cloudy trichomes, and the other ones have some cloudy some clear. I haven't seen any amber yet. On another note, the autos that I have harvested are now all in curing and have come to a total of just over 100 grams. Although I don't (can't) smoke anymore, I gave a small puff on a joint that I rolled for my SO and I was very happy with the immediate calming effect and nice taste and smell. I didn't do the "harvest" week thing because otherwise I couldn't post about my other flowering plants. Next time I will do separate diaries for different strains." Anyway because of caterpillars and rot I decided to harvest the next morning the Critical + and the smaller Dinamed, as the bigger one didn't have any rot and i didn't find any caterpillars on it.

And thus, we come to the end of this season's plants life. The one remaining Dinamed (biggest). I harvested this week because this plant also had developed a very small amount of rot on a few buds because of catterpillars, but much less than the others. ( I actually found a DEAD catterpillar on one of the buds so after 4 weeks of spraying bt it finally worked! haha) But also there were 4 days of rain comming up and since I will be away for 5 days I thought it would be best to just chop her down. The trichomes were mostly cloudy but unfortunately none amber. Like with all my other plants I did a bud wash, using 3 buckets: water+bicarb, water+hidrogen peroxide, and just plain water for a final rinse. This got rid of a little bit of mildew that was on 2 or 3 leafs. And also washed the dust and small insects that were stuck to the buds away. I then dried them with a fan for 2 hours, trimmed and hung them to dry. I have one question, the first time I harvested they were dry in a less than a week (about 5 days). Last weeks harvest (wich was more quantity, bigger plants) after 7 days they still weren't ready. Am I right to asume that the more buds drying in the same place, the more moisture there will be in the air and therefore the longer it will take them to dry? I have left them in there and added the last plant to dry aswell I'm hoping that they wont be too dry when I get back in 5 days.. Anyway that's all for this week. Next week I will update with harfvest info ! :D

This CBD strain is just great for me as i have a low tolerance and I'm prone to anxiety/paranoia when i take cannabis. It made me relaxed and happy in soothing way. I think its great for day and night. For anyone planning on growing this strain, be warned that these girls were super stinky! I had 3 on my terrace (you can see the size in my diary) and you could smell the pungent cheese aroma from probably half a Km away when the wind was blowing! I personally enjoyed the scent but if you have neighbors just keep in mind that their name Cheese precedes them! I harvested on week 10 due to caterpillars causing bud rot, if it hadn't been for that i would have probably harvested them week 12. They don't grow big so they could be a good strain for indoor growers too. On their website it says outdoor you can expect between 60 and 100 g/plant. My result was about 30 g/plant but then again I did no sort of training and had environmental problems like white-fly, caterpillars and bud rot. Also I didn't know to plant the auto-flowers direct into the bigger pot, and transplanted them from a small one to a big one. I think in the right conditions they would have produced a bit more!

I'm very happy with this strain's growth and harvest! It has been my first grow and this autoflower strain was pretty easy to handle! They grew small and bushy but i didn't do any training or defoliation so that's quite normal i assume. Only problem I had was that one of the 3 became a hermie and pollinated itself and my other plants. This was an outdoor grow so I can only think that it was because of its genetics. personally it didnt bother me too much.. now I have some seeds of this same strain for next year and will probably be "feminized" from the self polination. But it should be something to consider both for growers and Dinafem. Resistance-wise, I did get bud rot but that was caused by caterpillars so i don't think any plant could resist that. I had a bad case of whitefly and the plants kept going strong! Overall I am very happy with the results. Thanks Dinafem!

Overall i am happy with the outcome, i had a bad problem with caterpillars causing budrot so i will have to be more carfefull in the fututre. I got 55 grams from 2 plants, decent cbd rich nugs with a nice earthy and kind of spicy smell! I do recomend for high cbd strain :)

You know when to harvest based on the trichomes. You will need a magnifier 60x will do, 100x is better. This can be anything from a jewelers loop to a digital WiFi microscope. I got the WiFi scope for pictures of the trichomes. You should google this, you will find charts indicating the different effects based on the trichomes appearance. 💪

@ghendrix, to avoid paranoia I’d harvest at 0-5% amber with 80-100% cloudy. Based on my experience unless you want a sedative or narcotic pain relief this is the best harvest time for the peak of ripeness and THC.
ghendrix
ghendrixcommented7 years ago
@Tazard, oh this is very good info! I have a tendency towards anxiaty and get paranoia quite easily! They are already high CBD strains (2:1 ratio CBD to THC) So do they go more amber over time? if so I would want to be harvesting later rather than sooner right?

Thanks! So do you think I should plant the photoperiods in ground and the autos in pots?
Mrs_Larimar
Mrs_Larimarcommented7 years ago
@ghendrix,I think its a good Idea . 50 l sounds good. and rainprotection is everything they need in later september. its nice you got that kind of space. you can let them stand in your garden unitl beginnig of " rainingperiod" what is most time in the middle of september (here in northern europe). A little bit of rain is not bad but rain longer than 3 daysand colder temps under 16 degree and humid weather is bad
ghendrix
ghendrixcommented7 years ago
@Larimar, I don't think I will have them resources or time to create a roof like that.. should I plant them all in pots (I have bought 50L pots) I have a terrace with good sun and is half covered by a roof. I could drag them under the roof when it rains to protect them. Does that sound like a good plan?

@ghendrix, the autos in pots work wonderful. and if you give the others a roof its will be great give the autos minimum 15 liters

Harvest (and the buds) looks great dude!👊👍. No stressn she’s supposed to look like that. I usually pull my harvests from the dry rack at 10 days and start the cure. Even if they’re still a little too moist, I air out the jars every day for about 5-10 minutes a day for 20-30 days and it seems to acclimate perfectly.👍. Good luck and above all else, enjoy😎

hey Hey! Saw your updates since week 3 and the plants are looking great! Super healthy and thriving. Read the comments too and you’ve got great advice from @Larimar, @DinafemSeeds and everyone else. thought I’d add a couple things more!: #1: your grow is doing just fine 👍! #2: don’t stress too much over a couple of yellowing leaves lower down on the plant. Most often times this isn’t an early sign of nutrient burn, just the plants lower leaves no longer getting the same light exposure as the rest. Good job keeping a close eye but until you see a real obvious spread of yellowing, these are common leaf issues when growing outdoors.👍 #3: glad the neem oil seems to be working and yes - if using this during flower try to avoid spraying the actual buds/flowers. It will affect taste at harvest. Spray only the leaves as best you can. When the plant starts producing trichs (frosty crystals), ease back on neem oil application as this is the plants natural defence against insects. When it punches into full flower you may not need it at all. #4: your ideal ph range for soil is between 6-7. Treat it like a range - this is actually a rather large margin for error. That said, soil is also quite forgiving and can handle the odd ph fluctuation beyond this range. I got by without a ph meter or up/down for at least a year with no issues (high ph water too) when growing in soil so now that you’re dialing this in don’t stress at all 👊 #5: it’s also good that you’ve dialed back nutes - this should remove any concerns or issues with burn in the future and make any other troubleshooting easier. #6: any spider that’s not a mite is a good omen when growing outdoors. Spiders do the job of controlling insect populations so if they’re on your plant, then it’s an added line of defense against other little bastards! In short, this grow is rocking the casba!!! Keeping an eye out myself and lots of other cool cats are lined along “the watchtower” too! Doing great!!! 👊👍👊

wow! that's some great advice thanks so much for all this you are amazing :) especially the neem oil thing I'm glad I can still use it on the leave carefully and had no idea about the trichomes and flower combating the pests!

ok checked the soil, its ok. it has a few ferilisers. not to much . ph is ok. of the soil. well lets wait what happens. its no nutrient excess. its moer a defiency if the yellowing went worse start feeding with half the ammount of fertiliser into wet soil. and buy an ph meter........ dont care what grow shop says.... nutrients are nutriens organic or not its always the same componentsN, P, K.......synthetic or organic

@ghendrix,you are testing your feeding solution and the runoff of your plant(soil and water)if you are watering and yes maybe its not teh worst idea just to be sure to buy an ph set-----Ph up , Ph down and ph meter. if you dont need it great but in my eyperience you will need it its good to havwe all avialable facts to diagnose the plant

ghendrixcommented7 years ago
@Larimar, okay thanks Larimar you are wonderful! I will do that. Do you mean a ph meter for the water yes? I got it tested and it was 7. Does that mean I need to buy something to lower it?

ghendrixcommented6 years ago
@Tazard, hey man thanks! I have been following your cbd plus grow! Mine also started off quite fragile, but once they got past 3 nodes they became much more resiliant! I have no experience with hydroponics though so Im guessing its quite a different lifestyle for the plant! Im sure once she starts getting bigger she will turn out great! Paitence and good luck my friend! :D

Sucks how much BS u went through dude but looks like you’ll be rewarded with a good haul👍. Wish I had some input for u on bud washing but it’s not something I do post chop. Then again I’ve gotten super lucky with pests and mild issues in the past. All the best my friend!👊

@TheBudWhisperer, Thanks man! Yeah it has been a kind of crazy ride but at least I have learned a lot. And for next season I'm going to be practicing prevention from day 1. The bud washing I have had a good experience with, I'm unsure about it reducing trichomes like I have read people saying on forums and stuff.. but you know there is the same amount of people saying that they do it and no problem. I think it is more useful for outdoor grows where dust, bugs and pm can be problematic. Thanks man, all the best :)

sorry about all that fox tailing I see you are growing outdoor do you have some sort of a light outside that maybe turns on in the nigh that can be what is causing your fox talling even 30 seconds of light in her night cycle can mess her up
ghendrix
ghendrixcommented6 years ago
@Tonino, no its weird there is no light or anything.. i guess it was just a genetic mutation.
the end.
