Germination

Hey everyone! So first week after germination and the plants start growing under the lights :) At first, I set up the intensity to 50% and hanged them at around 40cm above the plants. It has been quite hot these weeks and the air inside the tent is rather dry; I think that may have been slowing the growth a bit, but nothing worrying... Nothing added to the water for now, as I'm still waiting to get my pH meter I cannot acurately adjust it. Can't wait for the next week for the leaves to develop further so they can get plenty of energy from the lights! Cheers!

15/07 Into 3rd week of vegetation and I decided to repot the beauties. They were in 4l plastic pots with cutting and seeding soil. Now I moved them into 7L fabric pots with lightmix and cocos. I also started measuring pH and added nutrients. I think I overwatered them a bit because this morning, the soil is still very wet. Maybe I should poke holes into the pots and should have mixed a bigger cocos/soil ratio but I'll leave them be for now. 20/07 As suggested by someone answering my question, I raised the lights a bit to let them grow taller, and I think they liked it! I also have a pretty fixed watering schedule so far, of 1L each every three days, I never let them get too thirsty. It's a great week, they seem to be picking up a nice pace and they look healthy 🌱 21/07 The babies are growing nice! I decided to top them and saw that the procedure on Cérès would be too difficult, as this is a first for me. So I only topped Baba and I'll wait and too Cérès tomorrow ✂️ 22/07 Cérès is topped!

Hello everyone, One of my baby plants is showing light/silver spots. At first thought it was normal to have irregular leaves at the very beginning of veg, but I think it might be thrips. What does it look like to you? Thanks for your help growmies!

nope... and i doubt you see those blemishes on newer leaf growth... those initial 1-3-5 finger leaves are more prone to blemishes in my experience and probably just genetic. Watch that internode length.. if too tight, raising light a couple inches will help nodes get a little more spacing.... or more light if it stretches too much etc etc... pictures are decieving, so don't take what i percieve too seriously.. but looks a bit tight. -- could just be that 3-finger leaf is bowing upward trying to maximize it's light, too.

23/07 After topping both of them, I applied LST to expose the lower nodes 25/07 I raised the lights again as I feel I may have topped them a bit too early and the internodal spaces are rather short. Especially on Baba-g, lower nodes seem covered by higher leaves so I bend them a bit. I also notice some spots on Cérès leaves, will do my research to try to find out what it is

01/08 The plants are growing strong and the topping was a success! I started using SCROG to help me bend the stems easily and it seems to be working like a charm! I adjested the feed as recommended by the manufacturer and they seem to take it just fine 04/08 I've been away the past couple of days, it's been hot and the babies were thirsty! I decided to change to final 18L pots so I give them plenty of time to accommodate before flowering. The plants look healthy, no sign of anything wrong, I just think they needed water. I kept the same soil composition, kept the same feeding and we'll see in a couple of days how they recover.

16/08 This might be the last week of veg. I'm running out of nutrients and I'll probably start flowering once the bottle is empty... The plants seem strong, I haven't seen anything abnormal on leaves. I was wondering if I should top them again, but the fact that I'm entering flowering soon, that I'm not sure still a rookie and that the plants seem a bit short and bushy makes me think that it's not a bad idea to leave them be. 18/08 Since it's almost time to switch them, I decided to defoliate once more. I'm never sure if I'm doing too much or too little, so I decided defoliate Cérès mostly, and see how different they grow. I also LSTed them a bit more, as they seemed very bushy I tied them down more firmly to open space in the interior and center of the plants. I'm a happy grower with healthy and strong babies.

21/08 Last week of veg and I practiced a bit of defoliation. I ended up reéoving éore leaves than I intended, I really wanted to remove big leaves covering potential future bud sites, even the smallest ones. We'll see how they recover before flipping at the end of the week!

27/08 Time to flip! They're recovering well from last defoliation. I'll be doing very little work on them for the next 2-3 weeks, just letting them shoot upwards.

03/09 After a few days into flowering, the plants are stretching really fast. I decided to defoliate them as they were bushy and the leaves were covering budsites. Better light penetration and air flow seem to suit them well, as Cérès was lagging a bit behind (I think I removed too much a couple weeks ago). They look good now, so I'll just adjust the canopy once in a while but won't be doing much work for the next couple of weeks or so.

18/09 After a big big stretch, I lollipoped the beauties. This helped lower air humidity from 60 to 50%. I just defoliate them but they don't seem to suffer that much from it. I'll wait for them to recover before sharing more.

24/09 All is going well: buds are stacking , trichomes appearing,... 30/09 Trichomes are starting to cover the colas. Smell is getting more and more intense, and they get stickier by the day! I don't feel like they're are growing much, but you can see (and smell and feel) that they are developing. The feed is rather simple, I keep adding Terra Grow, Green Sensation and a bit of pH minus. Till next week!

Hello everyone, I lollipoped the plants early in the flowering stage, and I wanted to get rid of the fan leaves that have grown since. Some of them grow in or very close to the buds, covering lower budsites. Can I remove those? Thanks for your help!🤙

No, you will harm, defoliation is for certain situations and only for FAN leaves, not sugar ones. I am a biggest fan of defoliation here 4sure, but leave girls alone !!!! You on nice path, overdoing only ruins things. Defoliation is not a MAGIC. stick for BIG harvests.

17/10 After sometime where I didn't notice much growth, I feel the girls are growing back faster. I see new parts of buds sprouting and they're getting bigger. I noticed some sugar leaves turning dark/black/purple on the edges; might be nutrient block or temperature. Either way, as they're getting closer to harvest, I think it might be time to flush them. Also air humidity has rocketed since a couple of days ( more than 75%) and I can't seem to getting back down, even with the fan, extractor and dehumidifier. Don't really know what more to do... 21/10 Difficult week in terms of maintaining climate inside the tent. Humidity is rising and it's impossible to lower it. I installed a passive dehumidifier, but it didn't do a single thing... I'll receive an active dehumidifier tomorrow , that should do the trick. So I only watered twice this week, I didn't want to raise the humidity further. I'll start flushing tomorrow when I'll be able to control RH. See ya!

Hi all, I've been stressing out about high humidity levels in my tent, and a chemical smell when I smell my fingers after running them through the buds. Could this be mildew? Or just very frosty buds? On the microscope I see thin "hairs", but looks like undeveloped trichomes...

If the white is ON your leaf itself, not elevated above it, it could be powdery mildew. Take your magnifying glass and see if you notice anything directly on the leaves. If it's just a bunch of clear-ish "hairs" sticking up, those are either the start of trichomes, or trichomes that had their heads knocked off.

24/10 After a hard fought battle against humidity, I bought an active dehumidifier that helps a lot, even though RH levels aren't optimal, climate is way better. I flushed the beauties 3 days ago and now the leaves are turning yellow I'll monitor trichomes this week, but harvest should be due Friday!
