7/13 - Germination day on the new grow. Im going with Gelato Auto from Weedseedsexpress.com. This strain was fantastic last time and my only regrets were, that it was too leggy from my bad tending, and it was only one plant! I demolished this jar of bud quickly as it was a tasty potent smoke.
All seeds popped very quickly. Soaked for 18 hours and sank. Transfered to papertowels and put on germination heat pad at 80 degrees they sat for 24 hours. Taps were long on 2 and short on the others, but very healthy. Planted in peat pellets that were soaked in 6.2 pH water and planted pellets into pot. Kind of a transplant at the time of planting. My thought was: steady consistent moisture during the seedling phase and no nutes available to risk burning the seedlings.
7/26 - The Gelatos are starting to get bigger. The first week showed slow growth, with some issues. One had yellowed leaves from the start, so I feed a bit more nitrogen which seemed to help. Some distortionn of the first set of leaves. About mid leaf, on the edges, it seems twisted. New growth is doing as expected. Roughly 3 weeks till flowering. Veg girls, veg!
8/1 - Overwatering sucks! Apparently, I've been doing it since the start. Different soil and I guess it retains water a little too well. Air drying pots with fan on high and pots tilted to provide air to the bottom. No water today.

8/7 - The 3 gelatos are growing as expected. Nothing remarkable, but nothing bad to report either! All have recovered nicely from the overwatering incident from last week.
8/21 - Pistol formations have gotten thick and stretching seems to have slowed. Some signs of ph fluctuation in the lower leaves, just another sign that this soil is crap! Switching back to Growit! Buffered Coco after this harvest, damn the cost!
8/27 - Some nute deficiency popped up this week. Very purple leaves, with washed out yellow edges. After several days, the edges curled up like a taco. I assume from looking at several photo charts of deficiencies, that it was a phosporos that was needed. I started using Open Sesame which should solve that. Plus, I will be top dressing next week with worm castings and making terp tea. This is gonna get good!
9/3 - Flowering has gotten impressive. Two of the three are exactly the same as my previous Gelato grow! Tall, leggy plants, even though I kept the light turned up and right on the plants. The bud formation looks really good to me and I cant wait for the finish line!
9/11 - Overfed these girls badly, really badly. I have flushed twice in the last week using yucca root extract. Hopefully, that loosened up the soil and helped flush the bad crap out. Gonna only feed high P tea for the rest of the grow.
9/17 - Lots of deficiences due to salt build up, flushing now. No more salt! Just no. Salt and me are not good. Ugliness for no reason, organic brings greenery.
9/24 - The 2 sisters are still getting it together after watching their short sister get chopped down earlier! These are not far behind. Just a handfull of days I would assume.
Super happy to have grown this cultivar again! So happy, I grew 3! Nice and orange. Hairy as hell, and so stanky! Hoping for a slow dry and a decent cure. No clue what I got off of this one but its good!
9/24 - Chop day! Beautiful plant finished beore her two sisters. They are not far behind this one. Decent yeild, but no clue what the dry weight will be. This is the first time I have opted to hang dry my buds. I have always bucked the buds and wet trimmed them. Then placed them in a hanging mesh drying rack. I found that it was hard to even get 7 days dry time in the rack. This time with all the stems and sugar leaves still in tact, it might slow down the drying process. Fingers crossed!
