Removed answered grow question 4 years ago That's good, they have not stretched because they receive a good amount of light and so they don't need to grow more stem. Keep in mind that what's important is that they develop nodes, leaves, side shoots, not stem. A squat plant is much better than a stretchy one, it will be easier to have a flat canopy and you will have much less risk of running out of space; LED bulbs are great for that. I invite you to visit my diaries where I'm using LED bulbs exclusively, they will give you much better results than CFL at a 25% the power draw of CFL. PRO TIP: take the plastic dome off, it will give you quite a boost in their light output.
I think most growers wait till leaves start fading but I could be wrong bud , @spinnergrow @bobo420 , @sticks @mrslarimar

@MissFlowerPower420, Thanks for the help guys, will let you know tomorrow!
@MissFlowerPower420,Agreed with @bobo420 , grab a magnifier or try to make a macro shot with any smartphone that can do so and harvest based on your trichomes ratio :+1:
The only thing that’s going to tell you if your flowers are ready or not is by looking at the trichomes. Looking at pistils will give you extra data and somewhat estimation of the age but the colors of trichomes are what you really need to look at. Clear trichomes: too early. Cloudy trichomes: ready and gives you the “head high”. Depends on the grower, some growers will chop it off when they only see cloudy trichomes. When you have about 20-30% amber and rest cloudy trichomes, many will consider that the “sweet spot” of chopping down. Some will wait until the amber colors are prominent which will give you the body sedation feelings. When all are amber, your flowers are getting ready to end its life cycle and probably want to bringing it down as your trichomes are degrading.
@rien, well if you have a really good macro lens, it might work, but you can buy a magnifier with 60x zoom for 10 or 20 bucks. A jewelers lens will work too.
Noob here, how do you check if the trichomes are ready? With a magnifier? Is a phone macro lens okay for that?
@beer420, no problem!! It’s really exciting to see all that your trichomes are ready and ready to be chopped down.
