Super Sativa Contest - TNTina

Off to a good start...Tina is thriving in the coco mix and frequent fertigation a lá cocoforcannabis.com (great site) I've had good results from FF in earlier grows, this is the first time I'll be doing it in a 5 gallon fabric pot, previously used 2 and 3 gallon pots. Thanks to the good people at Super Sativa Seeds for the chance to grow some new strains :-)

Tina is doing well, as expected or better. Still watering twice daily about 0.75-1.0 litre each time. At this rate, I may wind up switching nutes to GH maxibloom when I flip her to 12/12. I've had good luck with the frequent fertigation technique so far, this is the first time in a 5 gallon pot, before it was 2 and 3 and i wanna see how much difference the larger pot makes

Topped her and removed some of the larger fan leaves. I've left the branches from the bottom two nodes on for now - I wanna try and clone Tina to practice my cloning skills and hopefully add her to my collection of bonsai mothers.

Doing well, not quite as fast as I had hoped but still quite good. I've done a lot of fucking with her along the way with pruning, trimming and training - I'm gonna leave her to just grow for a bit before continuing the training.

Well, I left her alone as long as I could stand the unruly big leaves. Removed the biggest fan leaves, pruned the 2nd node on each shoot and topped after the 3rd, gonna settle for an 8 cola manifold. In previous manifolds, I didnt keep the terminal nodes low enough and the inner branches never developed as strongly as they shoulda, gonna try and avoid that this time. So I tied the main shoots down using the stem as an anchor rather than the edge of the pot which doesnt pull them down low enough to break the terminal dominance later on

Got Tina into shape this week...I dunno what it says about me but I feel better once I've tamed a plant's natural unruliness and used some hst to institute some order. I've still got at least 2 weeks before theres room for Tina in the Big Girl Tent so she'll have plenty of time to veg

Must've been stoned last week, I was supposed to enter it as veg, not flowering... Moved Tina to the flowering tent on the 21st, she's pruned and tied down for 8 mains with a couple branches left on to take as cuttings once the stretch begins.

Nothing really new to report. Tina is doing well, took the last few unnecessary branches off to try in a new bubble cloner - fingers crossed

Doing well, it's hard to resist picking off leaves but I'm trying to wait until shes been flowering 3 weeks.

Finally got to the third week of flower and was able to clean the girl up....removed most fan leaves, pruned the lowest bud site on each branch and adjusted her ties. Schwazz!

Tina seems happy, buds are blooming and no signs of deficiency or toxicity. Her roommate, a GG#4, is getting the same nute solution but showing nutrient burn so I guess Tina is a good eater

Aphids infiltrated my grow tents, Tina had the least by far but I still sprayed her down with insecticidal soap....this isnt supposed to happen indoors, that's the trade off for no sun....am I the only one that read the rulebook?

Spotted a few more aphids on one of Tina's tentmates so I gave her another spraying of insecticidal soap....shes early enough in flower that I'm confident it will all get rinsed off with some distilled water....buds are smelling lovely :-)

Tina smells enchanting :-) Sadly, shes a stubby girl and this isnt the first plant I've had fall short of my growth expectations during flowering. I think I flipped her to 12/12 too soon, same with other plants. I'll try and keep future generations in veg longer but sometimes I run out of space.... Anyway, the buds look and smell amazing, can't wait :-) Nov 11 - found significant patches of aphids....so close to harvest I dont want to coat the buds with soap so I decided on any early harvest. Day 51 and SSS list the flowering time as 50-60 days. The trichomes were about 75/25 cloudy/clear with no amber. Once trimmed up the buds look fantastic, if maybe a little smaller than they should be. More importantly to me, they're nice dense nugs, something I havent had a lot of luck producing.

An underwhelming 19g grams dried. However, the buds are nice little nuggets covered in orange hairs and glittering with crystals. I should've vegged her longer after mainlining and before flipping her. That and the fucking aphids (oh how I hate them!) is the reason for the low yield imo. The genetics of this strain were fantastic: an easy to grow healthy plant with uniform structure that spread enough to promote air flow without growing too tall. I've already started another seed to try and do better. The buds smell great and the smoke has an enticing taste. Thc is at least 20% so it gets me where I need to be. Thanks Super Sativa Seeds!
