Planted on August 31st.
Popped on September 3rd.
These took a day longer than the other seeds I planted. They are also noticably smaller than the other seedlings when they popped.
September 10th:
Well, they are a week old, now. Still fairly small, compared to the other cultivars, but doing just fine.
I'm hoping for a prized pheno female, since I'm pretty sure I didn't get one on the first drops back in February for my outdoor grow.
I guess we'll see.
September 24th:
These two aren't really doing a good job of keeping up with the others. I know they are short plants, but dang. They are about half the size of all the other seedlings around.
I transplanted them anyway and I'm glad I did. They had the two biggest root bases so far, out of the seedlings. Maybe they are getting a lot more blue spectrum than any other? I'm not sure. But, the seeds I drilled for my outdoor grow didn't seem like they stayed this short for this long.
Og well, at least they are growing. Maybe they will hit a growth spurt soon.
October 1st:
Took off the two top shade leaves to give the lower branches some light and now they are starting to bush out quite well.
They both were up-potted again, since their roots were popping out of drainage holes. Again.
GDP #2 is growing vertically the fastest out of the two.

October 8th:
GDP#2:
This one I super - cropped the top, instead of topping it like I did with GDP#1. Branches are darting straight for the top of the canopy and the fat friggin' shade leaves are getting in the way.
The height and overall size is hands down better than GDP#1, so far.
GDP#1:
This one was topped. There's a noticeable difference in size and canopy when compared to #2. The vigor doesn't quite seem to be there, like #2. But, who knows. I might have an underdog story on my hands.
I sprayed both of them with some worm casting tea since they were having some yellowing on the bottom leaves.
October 17th:
Ended up having a long weekend and didn't get pictures taken until Monday. So, I'm dating this entry and the other two more recent diaries on the 17th instead of the 15th.
GDP#2 is still looking to be the better pheno. It's naturally filling out and training itself, more or less.
I still think GDP#1 didn't like being topped, but it's trying to catch up.
Still no definitive signs of sex on either plant.
November 24th:
Did some defoliation on each plant and some very low stress training.
I've been doing preventative sprays and dusting the tops of pots with diatomaceous earth, since it's the time of year for pests to try and sneak inside.
Taking a couple clones off of each plant to flower, once they root. I'd rather have a mother with a taproot over a mother that's a clone.

November 9th:
Some stuff came up and made it so I couldn't make it to the lab for a while. Fortunately, my friend's are fantastic and looked after my girls while I've been away.
They are looking like they need another defoliation already, even though I did a very, very heavy defol the last time I was in.
The two clones from #2 are still kicking, along with one clone from #1. As soon as they are rooted, they're going into the bloom room with the other flowering plants. They will tell me which pheno I'm keeping, later on down the line.

November 26th:
They are doing fantastic. I just ordered a bag of live ladybugs to take out the few aphids that might be crawling around, so I won't have to worry too much about pests showing up for a bit.
I'm almost sure that GDP#2(the bigger pheno) will be the mother, but still trying to be patient with these clones. They will tell the whole story.

December 28th:
GDP#2:
This girl is doing fantastic. Super healthy and no root problems. She's still my number one choice. I have a couple friends growing clones of her, since I don't have room in my bloom room.
GDP#1:
she's the reason I haven't been updating this journal for the last month. She's not liking life lately. At all. She was being moved for defoliation and there was a big pop when she got bumped against a table. Turns out, that pop was its Taproot snapping. So, I was working on keeping her alive and mitigating die-off, but then some aphids found their way to her. Now, she's trying to grow more roots while aphids take advantage of her poor health. Ladybugs aren't working, so I'm switching to Dr. Zymes. Going to hit every plant once a day for three days in a row. That should deal with the little bastards.
March 21st:
She's still alive and kickin'! GDP #1 got the axe, as she couldn't shake aphids or deal with an environment that should have put her in stasis. Not a big loss, though, as GDP#2 seems to be really close to a prized pheno. I finally got to try some nugs that a clone made and daaannnng! Spicy, pungent, and a very nice hint of grapes.
So, i'm going to keep taking clones and giving them to friends while i pheno-hunt for the true prized cannabis cup winning genetics. If i end up with enough clones, i'm going to do a full room run and have some of this near-narcotic medical around for a while.
April 12th:
I'm going to do a clone run off of this mother plant so i can close out this diary and you lovely people can see how this pheno turns out!
There are 11 clones total, at the moment. Only one is confirmed as established, but the others are looking good during the start of their second week in makeshift cloners.
I'll update once all the clones are established and transplanted into 1.5 gallon pots. I'm guessing it will be another month or so, but hey, at least this grow is finally underway! I'm excited to see if my environment yields better results than my friend's, who was nice enough to flower a clone so we can see if this was the mother we wanted. We decided it was close enough on flavor and effect while we hunt through the other 7 seeds for a good breeding male and a better female pheno.
Since it seems like all the popular cultivars have GDP in them, i'm trying to get the best phenos i can find. Once i do, i'll be able to backcross the cultivars i like that have GDP genetics in them. It'll be a fun project which i'll spread across several diaries.
November 4th:
First day of 12/12.
Clones from this GDP mother. Decided to do a laid back run so some friends and clients can decide if they want cuts. I'm not shooting for a big yield, just enough to smoke with people and have my brother press some into live rosin.
They are under a Hortibloom Solux 800.
It's been water only, so far.
The clones are almost 2 months old, including the two week rooting time I give every clone to establish.
No control over heat and humidity, at the moment. My brother said he has a dehumidifier I can use, so that will help. I need to dig out my little electric heater, but can't manage to find it. I'm thinking I gave it away a while ago. Time to get another one, I guess.
I'll do an update at the end of this week. This is just to show where the clones are at this point in time so I can gauge progress and have it recorded.
November 11th:
The clones are filling out and looking great. It's officially the end of week 1 flower and everything is rolling right along.
Just water throughout the week.
Turned the light up 20%, so it's sitting at 60% intensity from now until nugs start stacking. I'm not sure if I'll be able to turn this light past 80% at all, to be honest. Especially if I'm not supplementing c02.
Got a heating source established and finally hooked a hose up to a water main. Now I don't have to lug around 5 gallon buckets full of water and it's amazing.
November 18th:
Big ole broad leaves. These girls are going to look totally different once I defoliate.
Week two of flower and giving only well water. Another week or two and I'll start giving them BuildABloom, as soon as I see the right signs.
HortiBloom Solux 800 is at 60%. I think it may be the reason one of the plants are a lighter shade of green than the others, due to too much light intensity. I need to dial in the spread better and take it from there.
November 25th:
Light still at 60%.
Water only, still.
Light bouts of defoliation throughout the week.
All in all, everything is operating smoothly.
EDIT:
So, I don't have any more weeks left, other than harvest week, for this diary. I added some pictures of this week, the end of week 4 (December 2nd,.2023), to this entry. But, the rest of the weeks will be included in the harvest week.
