Plagron Seedbooster Plus did the trick; all 3 of my Green Gelato seeds from Royal Queen Seeds sprouted after 3 days in soil. In above photo's you'll also see my Plagron feeding schedule. I think I'll veg them 2 weeks longer but couldn't select 8 weeks in the Plagron Nutrient Calculator (I hope they'll change that for the future since a 60 day veg is quite normal). But on the other hand, I think feeding in the last 2 weeks of veg will be the same as week 6.

PAR 200 PPFD I made the beginners mistake number one: too much water. I put the gemination tray on an auto watering system from below but that was too much for the tiny cups. The soil was wet all the time. After drying them out for 2 days I started again with 2x 5ml. water per plant per day.

Start week PAR 260 PPFD End week PAR 315 PPFD The plants are now 2 weeks old and I plain water (pH 6,4) them 10 to 15 ml a day, It's so easy to overwater them, I think that's the most difficult thing this week. I use a humidifier to keep RH around 65%. I also started giving Plagron Power Roots which stimulates root growth and increases the overall resistance of the plant. It will help root develop much better and I will give this nutrient every time I water, until week 3 of flower.

Start week PAR 340 PPFD End week PAR 400 PPFD I repotted them into 1 ltr. Air-Pots on day 16 after gemination and after a couple of days getting used to their new surroundings I LST'd them outwards. I still haven't give them any NPK nutrients as the fresh new soil has enough in it for this week, but I did start to give Plagron Sugar Royal; it's used for enhancing the natural aroma and taste of the final product. I will use it until the end of the grow, so maybe I've to buy another bottle ;-). I also added Plagron Pure Zym; it's a soil improver based on natural enzymes. It promotes the accelerated breakdown of dead plant material. I will use it until week 3 of flower and I'm sure it will keep my plants very happy in their soil.

Start week PAR 410 PPFD End week PAR 450 PPFD On day 25 I repotted the ladies into 12 ltr Air-Pots; as this will be their final home I gave them a couple of days to relax and get used to. But not too long as I really needed to Top them for the first time. This week is also the first time to start with some grow nutrients; the plants are getting bigger right now and therefore they will need the right amount of Plagron Terra Grow. I will use it until week 1 or 2 of flower. They look very happy and have a nice light green color.

PAR 450 PPFD LST is really the best way to spread your plants horizontally without stressing them. Within 2 to 3 days they bounce back and start to make new branches from the now horizontal nodes. I also looked into VPD (Vapor Pressure Deficit) and recommend you should do too if you want your plants to be happy all the time. Read about it here: https://pulsegrow.com/blogs/learn/vpd And here you can calculate you're own VPD charts for vegetation and bloom: https://pulsegrow.com/pages/vpd-calculator

PAR 450 PPFD It's all about creating new branches during these weeks of vegetation and LST for me is the best way to achieve that. More branches means more Green Gelato cones at the end of my grow. I try to create about 20 per plant at the end of vegetation.

PAR PPFD 450 I hope my plants will fill out the 0,9 m2 grow tent in the last 2 weeks of veg. It would be so nice and make me so proud trying to achieve that in my first grow!! I really think that good equipment (AC Infinity, Spider Farmer), good nutrients (Plagron) and lot's of watching on YouTube and reading in blogs will pay off at the end.. And of course the determination willing to do the very best I can, each day, for 4 months, will give me even more pleasure in my new hobby and hopefully more product at the finish line. 👊

PAR to 480 PPFD This week I placed the first ScrOG net just above the canopy. During this last week in veg and into week 1 and 2 in bloom I keep tugging them down. This will fill out the rest off the tent and keep the canopy as even as possible. Still the plants are just about 30 cm tall in this stage.

Start week PAR 480 PPFD End week PAR 500 PPFD Starting to change the Plagron Terro Grow with Plagron Terra Bloom during the week. And lowering the EC to 1,65. Also due to the start on 12/12 cycle the plants drink less, they went from 1,5 ltr per day to 1 ltr per day maximum (sometimes even less). Using Plagron Silic Rock from now on to harden the stems and for overall happiness of the plants. You should read about it, it is really a good nute to give your plants. It's a pity that I red about it so late into my grow. I will start using it in my next grow from week 4 in veg.

PAR 520 PPFD In this week I did my first defoliation to get rid off some leaves and make the plants look more airy. I'll do a next, more thorough defoliation in the coming weeks because it isn't good to take to much leaves in one go. I'm also going to use the VPD chart to be able to adjust Temp en RH to perfection during bloom. Very happy with my AC Infinity Cloudline T6 InlineFan with temp/humid control and wonderful app. It gives me back realtime VPD which I can then check in the chart and if needed adjust the dehumidifier or heating/cooling.

Week start PAR 540 PPFD Week end PAR 570 PPFD After week 3 of flower the plants don't need to grow more roots, so therefor I stopped giving them Plagron Power Roots and Plagron Pure Zym since there is no use for it anymore; but they did their jobs very well.. my plants flourished on it and I didn't even had one dead leaf. I also defoliated again and lollypopped everything from the ScrOG net down to the AirPot's. Did some supercropping on about eight flowers to keep stretching under control and the canopy more even. Also placed a 2nd ScrOG net to arrange the branches and to support them later in flower.

PAR 570 PPFD I cut the Plagron Power Roots and Pure Zym from the menu. But finally there is the marriage between Plagron Sugar Royal and Plagron Green Sensation; a couple made in heaven. Read all about it here: https://www.plagron.com/best-buds-en I will put them only on Green Sensation and Suger Royal, topped off with Terra Bloom to desired EC until the end. I also do a last defoliation somewhere this week (week 4 flower).

PAR increased to 600 PPFD, done by lowering the light to 35 cm above canopy. What do you think? is that too low? I'm using a Spider Farmer SE3000 (300 Watt). Anybody experience with this light? This week I did water them 4 days only pH 6.3 water without any nutrients (one day with, one day without, one day with, etc.) and I hung my light midweek back to 45 cm.. this light is such a beast. I think that I'll give them more than 1 ltr. of water a day near the end of this week, probably 1.2 ltr. per plant. They do dry out a little faster due to their flower size and lower humidity.

Week 6 of flower has begun! The girls are doing so so good! A tiny little bit of burntip and dark green leaves, but really hardly noticeable and carried so well by each and everyone of them.. It's definitely nothing worse that can't be cured by just watering them 2 days in a row with only pH 6,4 water. The flowers are growing really well and are also growing in width more than before.. each day I see new hairs coming out at the side of the cola's also.. and the bud's that are growing a little lower at the branches are growing more too.. The whole plant is working at full speed right now, I see it happen every day.. I can't wait to wake up each next morning to go and see them.. It sounds crazy but I think I'm in love again. 😍

I find it really hard to keep the RH below 50%, especially at night when temps are low. I have a dehumidifier in the room where my tent is in but even when it's below 50% there, it still is above 50% in the tent itself. Can somebody explain this? Probably help me with a solution

I stopped giving my plants Plagron Silic Rock from mid last week (week 13, week 5 flower). Can anybody tell me if I did right to cut it in flower or does anybody has experience using this nute until the end of their grow? I think this nute is just for veg and early flower.

Mid flower perfect time. The time your branches went stiff, cut silica. In soil i wasn't using a lot, but at certain times it gives needed boost or support.

They say, the last stretch is always the hardest, and I hope they're so so right this time; they can't get hard enough to me! 😉 Week 7 of flower has started, the end is really near now and the girls are showing that they are too! They just get harder and harder and thicker and thicker; every day I see new pistols emerging from the side. Because I'm still so inexperienced, I find it quite difficult to determine how much food to give them these last couple of weeks. Do I have to stick to the amount in my Plagron growth schedule? I notice that I'm stepping away from that more and more because I can notice from the leaves that they have more than enough nutrition stored in them. And I strengthen myself also with the thought that less is more and that too much food in the last 2 weeks can still result in my girls not reaching the finish line at all. I therefore gave them less nutrition (EC 1,65) this first day of the week and tomorrow I will only give them pH 6.2 balanced water, which I have done more often in recent weeks. I also want to determine during this week when I'm going to stop the feeding completely and I secretly hope that you can advise me on this. How many days without feeding should I go for before harvest? And how do I determine when to start harvesting? I know I have to look at the trichomes, but how do I know what the trichomes will look like in 2 weeks? Or is it standard practice to stop feeding after week 7? I'd like to hear your opinion on this.. For now I'm happy with a new start of the week and for the 15th time I'm going to enjoy it massively 😎 (photos will follow later this week)

You’re going to get all types of answers on this. My opinion is not to stop feeding til the last 3-5 days. I start to slowly taper the EC down over the last 2 weeks. You have no updated pics from this week, only last week so it’s hard to advise on an appropriate chop date. Most photoperiods I run fall in the day 56-63 - as far as a chop date.. there are outliers but that gives you a good timeframe. Shoot for 60 days total give or take a few days. So if that’s the tentative chop date. I, personally, would feed up until day 56 let’s say. Day 50 I’d feed 1.2 EC , day 52 I’d feed 1.0 EC, day 54 I’d feed 0.8 EC and a final feed day 56 at 0.6.. then a few days of just pHd water then chop. There’s no “chemicals” you’re removing from the flower by flushing. This is a fallacy. Some ppl argue for a 2-3 week flush. If you take my tentative chop date of day 60 - Can you imagine stopping feeding at day 39? Last few weeks of flower are bulking up the flower - starving the plant at this point in the cycle is just detrimental to the final product - in my humble opinion.

I'm now halfway through week 8 of flowering and I see the canopy changing color more and more. That takes some getting used to because you try to keep the leaves as green as possible all those months.. and now they are turning more and more to light green and then becoming more and more yellow. I have been feeding them less every day for the past week; from EC 1.5 at the beginning to today an EC of 1.0 (and only the Plagron Green Sensation and -Sugar Royal, I stopped the Terra Bloom today). When I look at the trichomes I see that they are still transparent. We are on day 53 today and I'm guessing a harvest time of around day 60. I don't want to give any more food for at least 5 days before harvesting so I think I'm going to give them one more time 0.8 EC and after that only pH 6.2 water till the end. I then expect to have sufficiently flushed the plants. I'm really amazed at how much the flowers have gotten thicker in these last few weeks... and unbelievable how the lower buds are participating too. For me now the time has come to delve myself into harvesting, of course I have done that a long time ago, but now that the time really has come I try to prepare myself as well as possible. Youtube and Growdiaries are the best teachers for me. I also already bought a TrimBin on Amazon, so let the trimming begin! 😛

This last week was difficult. When are they ready? How long must I wait? One day longer? One more day longer? Each day I've checked the trichomes with my small WiFi microscope and tonight I finally decided that this Friday morning, day 66 of flower, will be the day. I'll take the day off from work. I mean 4 months of hard work deserves to have my full attention on this most important moment in my newly growers history. I'm so exited! They drink a lot less this last week and one plant even stopped drinking completely. Most of the fan leaves turned yellow now and also the lower part of the plants turn color. The flowers are getting a little smaller I guess, maybe that happens because the RH is down to the forties, and some small sugar leaves become a nice purple-ish color due to the low temperatures during nighttime. I also turned the light down even some more, around 85% of its maximum of 300 Watts. From day 64 until harvest day 66 I put them in full darkness; my last effort to get the most trichomes out of them as possible. The smell is beautiful and rich, I'm so happy! 😎

During a beautiful spring evening somewhere in May, the idea came to me to choose for a new hobby. And because I enjoy gardening very much and also like to smoke a joint, I decided that night to try to grow my own weed. And I also wanted to challenge myself to grow the best weed I possibly can. That's when I started to read up on all the facets of growing cannabis. From materials to technique, from strains to the anatomy of the plant, I prepared myself for at least 2 months before even one seed went into the soil. And partly because of this thorough preparation, I can now say to myself afterwards that this is the maximum I managed to get out of it. And the great thing about all this is that after these past 4 months I have learned so much more! Therefore I already know for sure that my next grow will be even better. Below some tips for my fellow newbies, they might help you during your own grow... Material In addition to the lamp, the tent and the right nutrients, which I commented on above, I have benefited a lot from a humidifier and dehumidifier over the past 4 months. Especially in the first weeks of growth, a humidifier is very useful so that you can keep the humidity around 60% (or what the VPD chart tells you depending on the temperature). During the flowering phase it is very useful to use a dehumidifier so that the humidity remains below 50% and at the end of the growth even close to 40%. That way you also exclude the risk of mold and bud rot. It is also useful to use these devices during the drying process so that you can keep the humidity around 60% and dry your weed slowly (at a temperature of around 15.5 Celsius, drying takes about 14 days). Drying slowly and coolly definitely benefits the smell and taste! What's also really a must are an EC and pH meter, without these 2 instruments it is actually not possible to realize a perfect grow. Make sure you use a reputable brand like Apera, they are a bit more expensive but always deliver spot on. In total I invested about 1500 euros in material on my first grow. This is also because I wanted to do it perfectly and therefore only went for quality products. But all in all I think I earn back my investment within 2 runs, taking into account that both my friends and I will never run out of a joint 😊 Seeds Good genes are important to ultimately achieve a good end result. Therefore, do not save on the seeds and buy them from a reputable breeder. That way you can be sure that you will grow strong and healthy plants that can withstand pests and other negative influences. Well begun is half done and this is especially true when growing cannabis. Technique Of all the training techniques I have used, I would like to specifically mention one that surprised me the most: Supercropping! Because I did this grow using the ScrOG method, I wanted to create as even a canopy as possible. The type of lamp I use is also most suitable for this method. But no matter how well you train your plants, they will eventually stretch unevenly during the first weeks of flower. I therefore snapped about 8 stems using Supercropping, which made my canopy nice and even again in a way that each branch gets the same amount of light. And the colas on those branches turned out SUPER nice! Also the nuggets beneath were growing bigger because they too got more light. I will certainly use this technique even more in my next grow! Will I will definitely use a diary again I will definitely use VPD charts again I will definitely use a feeding schedule again I will definitely turn my light on during the day and off during nighttime again I will definitely use the ScrOG method again I will definitely choose a feminized American strain again I will definitely use a webcam again (Wyze Cam) I will definitely defoliate even more during the 4th week of flowering I will definitely go higher on lollypopping I will definitely Supercrop more I will definitely dry my plants slowly and cool again (15 days at 60% RH and 15,5 C) I will definitely continue to learn more and prepare myself even better for my next grow again 👊 Won't I will certainly not water my seedlings too much again 😅 I will certainly not go for 3 plants again, but instead for 4 plants per m2 I will certainly not hesitate to ask experienced growmies for help again 🙏 (next week I'll comment on the bud dry weight and give my final smoke experience)
