I have given these Green Gelato seeds 8 out of 10 stars. Not because I don't think they deserve 9 or 10 stars, they were a joy to grow, but because this is my first grow and I don't know yet what my next strain will do. I still have 3 Green Gelato seeds left and will definitely grow them again. It is a beautiful low-growing plant, strong, fairly easy to grow and very resistant to pests and diseases. I have not had any abnormalities, have not seen a single yellow leaf and have only encountered one small fly once in these past 4 months. The seeds were all different from each other, which was clearly visible in the way they displayed their flowers. In itself this is not a problem, but it does look strange and not something you would expect from a single strain. But again, this is my first grow so maybe this is part of growing from seed instead of cuttings. Green Gelato is easy to train and had no issues with topping, LST, super cropping, lollypopping and defoliating. In fact, I think this is even necessary to use the full potential of Green Gelato. ScrOG is also highly recommended. All in all I am very pleased with Royal Queen Seeds and their Green Gelato seeds and I hope you enjoy the result of what you see in the photos. πŸ™

Reviews. Nutrient
Because I wanted to get the very best out of my first grow I had to be able to fully trust the nutrition I was going to use. I was therefore looking for a renowned brand with an extensive line and useful information on their website. I ended up at Plagron and they ticked all my boxes. I used Plagron nutrients every time I watered my plants (except at times when I saw that they had enough nutrition in the leaves). It was also very easy to measure out the right amount and because I did too used their feeding schedule, it was easy to get to the correct EC value every time (certainly kudos to Apera PH and EC meters!). It's too much work to review all the nutrients individually, however I did some explanation about each in my weekly updates, but trust me they were all useful and all did exactly what they were supposed to do. My plants loved it and have been a joy to watch from seed to harvest. I will continue to use Plagron forever, be it mineral or organic, soil or coco, they have everything you need and more. 5 stars to them all! πŸ‘Œ
Reviews. Lamp
I've said it before, good tools are half the work. And because light is one of the basic needs for a plant, I certainly didn't want to cut back on that. Quality has its price but also comes with many useful benefits. The Spider Farmer SE3000 is perfect if you want to use the ScrOG method because it illuminates the entire surface of your grow tent evenly. You can also adjust the light intensity to the needs of your plant's life phase; germinate, grow, bloom, all done with the full spectrum of the SE3000. The high quality Samsung LEDs make all the difference and by measuring the PAR I've always been able to provide my plants with the right amount of light. I am very happy with the purchase of this lamp and I am sure that it will last for many years to come. It is also the perfect size for a 3x3 grow tent. Spider Farmer has put my grow in a most effective beam of light so therefore nothing less than 5 stars for this 4 bar LED beast with high quality driver. πŸ™Œ
Reviews. Tent
I am 100% sure that I would have achieved at least 50% less results if I had not had access to this grow tent from AC Infinity. The high quality canvas, the automatically controlled inline fan, the Bluetooth connection, all make the life of a novice grower very easy. The display of the VPD is also a godsend and together with a VPD chart for growth and bloom I never felt unprepared for a moment. AC Infinity takes a lot of work off your hands so you can focus on other important things. This really is an ADVANCE Grow Tent! I'm glad I made the effort to go for one of the best brands on the market and didn't regret it for a second, pure quality, AC Infinity rules! πŸ‘Š

During a beautiful spring evening somewhere in May, the idea came to me to choose for a new hobby. And because I enjoy gardening very much and also like to smoke a joint, I decided that night to try to grow my own weed. And I also wanted to challenge myself to grow the best weed I possibly can. That's when I started to read up on all the facets of growing cannabis. From materials to technique, from strains to the anatomy of the plant, I prepared myself for at least 2 months before even one seed went into the soil. And partly because of this thorough preparation, I can now say to myself afterwards that this is the maximum I managed to get out of it. And the great thing about all this is that after these past 4 months I have learned so much more! Therefore I already know for sure that my next grow will be even better. Below some tips for my fellow newbies, they might help you during your own grow... Material In addition to the lamp, the tent and the right nutrients, which I commented on above, I have benefited a lot from a humidifier and dehumidifier over the past 4 months. Especially in the first weeks of growth, a humidifier is very useful so that you can keep the humidity around 60% (or what the VPD chart tells you depending on the temperature). During the flowering phase it is very useful to use a dehumidifier so that the humidity remains below 50% and at the end of the growth even close to 40%. That way you also exclude the risk of mold and bud rot. It is also useful to use these devices during the drying process so that you can keep the humidity around 60% and dry your weed slowly (at a temperature of around 15.5 Celsius, drying takes about 14 days). Drying slowly and coolly definitely benefits the smell and taste! What's also really a must are an EC and pH meter, without these 2 instruments it is actually not possible to realize a perfect grow. Make sure you use a reputable brand like Apera, they are a bit more expensive but always deliver spot on. In total I invested about 1500 euros in material on my first grow. This is also because I wanted to do it perfectly and therefore only went for quality products. But all in all I think I earn back my investment within 2 runs, taking into account that both my friends and I will never run out of a joint 😊 Seeds Good genes are important to ultimately achieve a good end result. Therefore, do not save on the seeds and buy them from a reputable breeder. That way you can be sure that you will grow strong and healthy plants that can withstand pests and other negative influences. Well begun is half done and this is especially true when growing cannabis. Technique Of all the training techniques I have used, I would like to specifically mention one that surprised me the most: Supercropping! Because I did this grow using the ScrOG method, I wanted to create as even a canopy as possible. The type of lamp I use is also most suitable for this method. But no matter how well you train your plants, they will eventually stretch unevenly during the first weeks of flower. I therefore snapped about 8 stems using Supercropping, which made my canopy nice and even again in a way that each branch gets the same amount of light. And the colas on those branches turned out SUPER nice! Also the nuggets beneath were growing bigger because they too got more light. I will certainly use this technique even more in my next grow! Will I will definitely use a diary again I will definitely use VPD charts again I will definitely use a feeding schedule again I will definitely turn my light on during the day and off during nighttime again I will definitely use the ScrOG method again I will definitely choose a feminized American strain again I will definitely use a webcam again (Wyze Cam) I will definitely defoliate even more during the 4th week of flowering I will definitely go higher on lollypopping I will definitely Supercrop more I will definitely dry my plants slowly and cool again (15 days at 60% RH and 15,5 C) I will definitely continue to learn more and prepare myself even better for my next grow again πŸ‘Š Won't I will certainly not water my seedlings too much again πŸ˜… I will certainly not go for 3 plants again, but instead for 4 plants per m2 I will certainly not hesitate to ask experienced growmies for help again πŸ™ (next week I'll comment on the bud dry weight and give my final smoke experience)

PAR increased to 600 PPFD, done by lowering the light to 35 cm above canopy. What do you think? is that too low? I'm using a Spider Farmer SE3000 (300 Watt). Anybody experience with this light? How high did you hang it from week 5 of flower to the end?

I find it really hard to keep the RH below 50%, especially at night when temps are low. I have a dehumidifier in the room where my tent is in but even when it's below 50% there, it still is above 50% in the tent itself. Can somebody explain this? Probably help me with a solution

I stopped giving my plants Plagron Silic Rock from mid last week (week 13, week 5 flower). Can anybody tell me if I did right to cut it in flower or does anybody has experience using this nute until the end of their grow? I think this nute is just for veg and early flower.

Mid flower perfect time. The time your branches went stiff, cut silica. In soil i wasn't using a lot, but at certain times it gives needed boost or support.

You’re going to get all types of answers on this. My opinion is not to stop feeding til the last 3-5 days. I start to slowly taper the EC down over the last 2 weeks. You have no updated pics from this week, only last week so it’s hard to advise on an appropriate chop date. Most photoperiods I run fall in the day 56-63 - as far as a chop date.. there are outliers but that gives you a good timeframe. Shoot for 60 days total give or take a few days. So if that’s the tentative chop date. I, personally, would feed up until day 56 let’s say. Day 50 I’d feed 1.2 EC , day 52 I’d feed 1.0 EC, day 54 I’d feed 0.8 EC and a final feed day 56 at 0.6.. then a few days of just pHd water then chop. There’s no β€œchemicals” you’re removing from the flower by flushing. This is a fallacy. Some ppl argue for a 2-3 week flush. If you take my tentative chop date of day 60 - Can you imagine stopping feeding at day 39? Last few weeks of flower are bulking up the flower - starving the plant at this point in the cycle is just detrimental to the final product - in my humble opinion.
