How advisable is it to run 24 hour light cycle? I’m interested because I live in the north and we’re getting to winter. The light divers provide some heat. They’re autoflower OG Kush.

20/4 is max. I do that in my autoflower room. The equipment needs a break. Plus plants need some rest. I run mine over night to battle cooler temps from outside.

OG Kush is now 6-7 in. Looking healthy and growing well. No evident shock from transplanting. One Kush gets LST, the other gets none. Let’s see how it effects yield. Gorilla Zkittlez are seedlings, but are responding to the environment well. I’ll transplant a bit earlier as the Kush had a very developed root in the solo cup. The Kush was 19 days at transplant. Gorilla Zkittlez transplant at Day 12.

Those advocating LST for autoflowers promise increased yields. Is there evidence to support this? Other than flattening the canopy, which helps in limited spaces, is there a scientific reason why training increases yield?

probably not, but it might change proportions of varying quality of buds. you may get less yield but more quality buds and less larfy stuff. Auto is on a timer, so anything cut off (like something facing/toucing dirt after lst) was wasted time for the plant that it'll never get back. or more easily understood as resources expended that result in nothing and no ability to add vege time to make up for that loss. i don't believe anyone has properly assessed this... and there's way too many variables involved to trust anecdotes of tiny samples and drastically different set of variables in any one context that make an apples to apples comparison impossible.

OG Kush at day 28 is thriving, the untrained plant is getting tall and bushy. The Kush that got LST is growing horizontally, both seem to developing multiple bud sites. The Gorilla Zkittlez is at day 14 and seem to be taking off after transplant. The average daily temperature is 75 and the humidifier is set at 50% I raised the light because the untrained Kush is getting too close. Lights are set at 75% Really trying not to overwater. Haven’t saturated to run off, but will on my next watering. No nutes added.

Day 35 for the OG Kush and the untrained plant is really stretching the OG Kush that got LST is also growing but the stretch seems to be across the canopy of the plant. The Gorilla Zkittlez are at day 21 and thriving. Watering to saturation every three days. No nutrients have been added. I’m going to gently work in some Fox Farms Strawberry Fields to the top of the pots.

In week 6, I’m growing autos in Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I’m going to gently work in some Fox Farms Strawberry Fields as the plants begin to flower. What is the best approach to adding additional nutrients at this point? Especially to support flower.

FFOF soil is a hot soil and can burn some autos. If you wanted to you could top dress with it to add in more nutrition to the plants. One thing about autos is they dislike strong feeds and can be really picky when there rootzone is not ideal. If you plan on feeding them with some extra nutrition I would suggest following a plan with structured EC levels to follow to avoid triggering the plant. I like this site a lot for a basic guide and simple to follow chart. Its not perfect and not set in stone but should help you out a bit. https://www.autoflower.net/forums/threads/med-man-method-feeding-chart-ppm-ec.47856/ Soil based grows also hold onto the nutrition more then a soilless grow. So less is really more in this case. Take it slow and let the plant tell you when its good. This is all assuming you will be feeding a liquid fertilizer vs dry amendments. If they are amendments I'd mix them into the top soil at 1/2-1/3 recommended strength and with some extra bacteria/myco. Good Luck!

The OG Kush at Day 42 showed some wispiness in the new flowers. The untrained plant appeared to be stretching beyond the height of the tent. So I began to train it through the trellis netting. Both OG Kush plants have multiple bud sites. I began to conservatively remove some lower growth. The Gorilla Zkittlez at Day 30 are beginning to show flowers. They have beautiful vegetation and seem to be shorter and bushier. The plants are watered until runoff and then not watered again until they’re dry. That’s been every 3-4 days. This week I added 1.25 ml of Advanced Nutrients trio in a liter of water. And sprinkled each plant with 2-3 tablespoons of Langbienite. The flowers perked up so I think the nutes were what they needed. Follow up: decided that a second application of Langbienite would push flowering. Wrong. The plants got yellow blotches, curling leaves and burnt tips. I flushed the plants with copious amounts of fresh water and let them dry out. Resumed Advanced Nutrients Micro and Bloom at 1.25ml per liter of water

The ph run off of my plants has been consistently low, ranging from 5.5 to 6.0. Should I be concerned? The soil is Fox Farms Ocean Forest. The plants are OG Kush and Gorilla Zkittlez Autoflower. I’m feeding them straight tap water with a ph of 7.5-8.0.

If you're only feeding them straight tap water, I wouldn't be concerned at all. If, as m0use rightly suggests, the pH is consistently falling, it USUALLY means the EC is too high and you'd need to back off on your nutrients... but if you're not giving them any nutes, there's nothing to back off from! If you're still feeding them (and why wouldn't you be?) the trio, I would suggest backing off the Grow by half... plants, in flower, don't need as much nitrogen as the Grow is giving them and this may be leading to a lockout of other nutes which your runoff pH is trying to tell you. But for me, if the plants are looking healthy (and they are), there's nothing to worry about... Good luck!

The OG Kush at 56 days is developing nicely. I’ve trained the flowers through the trellis and the screen of green is setting up nicely. The Gorilla Zkittlez at 44 days are into flower and catching up to the Scrog I gradually upped the dosage of Micro and Bloom from 1.25 ml to 4 ml per feeding. I am not adding Grow and haven’t resumed using Langbienite either. The plants seems to be increasing their uptake of water as pots are more frequently dry. Humidity is consistently above 50%. The runoff has measured 5.5 consistently. The plants seems to be responding well to feeding and watering. Flowers on the OG Kush are beginning to fatten and stack up.

The OG Kush is in week 5 of flower and the buds are beginning to stack and fatten up. The fan leaves still show signs of nutrient burn from the Langbienite overdose. The flowers seem to be developing well, the only visible damage to the plants is a yellowing and browning of leaves. Water intake is increasing, plants are dry more rapidly. The Gorilla Zkittlez is in the middle of week 3 of flower. The leaves are dark green and the foliage is thick. The plants have multiple bud sites both above and below the canopy. I began to slowly defoliate the bottom third of the plants and then carefully removing selected leaves on the canopy. Ambient humidity had been high, so average RH is above 50% frequently. Running a dehumidifier in the house to achieve a bit more dry environment. Began Cal-Mag supplement at 1.25ml/liter Nutrients are at 3.75ml

It’s mainly CBN btw CBG is the mother cannabinoid to all the others.. rare to find any in a mature plant unless it’s been bred that way. CBG turns to all the other cannabinoids as flower initiates

This is very subjective, most will elect to chop the whole plant where some will chop what has ripened more and leave the rest to finish off some more, up to you. And how consistent you want your bud to be. Some more CBG(couch lock) leaning flower or a mix.

The OG Kush came out of the drying tent after 8 days at 60-70 degrees and rh of 50. Two plants yielded 7 oz flower and 1 oz trim. The buds are loose. Curing from 2/14/23 in grove bags. Added some fan leaves for moisture. The Gorilla Zkittlez is at Day 91. The plants are each at slighty different levels of ripeness. Plan is to monitor tricomes and harvest as they ripen. Alternating fresh water and water with nutrients every other feeding. Plants are up taking about 1.5 gallons every 3-4 days.

Simple. Let them dry out under natural light in a room where sun light comes in Make sure they well a truly flushed. Or you could leave them under lights on timers say 12 hrs a and make sure they truly soaked.. this should finish them off. Turn your light down by 50..as you'll be in the ripening stage. If they 7 days out, or 3 just set your timer accordingly. Some ppl might not like the thought of electricity on. But, in a daylight room should help dry them out. Doing the same thing in the tent with less affect and i have even fully let my plants dry out and harvest by just pulling from the soil roots and all. And it makes for the best tasting weed. Once you have any Synthetic nutrients out of that pot. So hard flush and one of those methods should work. Good luck.
