Hello everyone! This is my first diary and my 2nd grow ever. This time I went with 3 Wedding Cheesecake Auto seeds, I had good success with FastBuds Zkittlez Auto for my first grow, so I am looking forward to seeing how this grow goes. I am very much a beginner and am still learning a ton, so any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks for looking :D
Week 0-1 : All normal so far. Environment has been stable. Started the feeding schedule with a small amount of the Simply Professional - Bloom, per their feeding instructions for week 1. Week 2 goes to the normal Veg formula. I am very interested in the results I will get with this "all-in-one" formula I picked up at my local Hydro shop. I initially was going to go with the Fox farm trio and this was suggested instead. The owner swore by it so I thought I would give it a try. I will keep you posted. Thanks for looking :D
Week 2: all normal so far. This week the girls were fed Simple Professional Formula again. This time Half bloom half veg, per their instructions. Next week will be feeding with full veg. formula. I am still learning so much. Watering is always stressful. I am always second guessing myself, on when to water. They seem to be drinking alot, I have been watering every other day. I will continue to learn and record the process. Thank you for looking 😎
Week 3: I saw some good growth this week. The girls were fed their vegetative formula for this week, per instructions from Simply Professional. They also got their first round of low stress training via the "tie-down" method. This was performed last night (11/27) and they have already responded well overnight, as you can see in the photos from this morning (11/28) above. So far, so good. This coming week we will continue feeding the veg. formula and will likely need to do a little more LST. See you next week, thanks for looking 😎
Week 4: Another good week overall. The girls responded well to the feeding and LST last week and we did a little more LST this week as well. I want to keep a nice even canopy.
All 3 have started pre-flowering, so I decided to switch to the transition formula for the Simply Professional Formula, half veg/half bloom, per the feeding chart. Also, since they have hit pre-flowering, I turned the intensity of my Growers Choice ROI-e420 light up to 75% intensity (from 50% in veg.) This created a small increase in tent temperature to 82F so, I'm working on ways to get that back down a little, if possible.
This week I also added an Exhale CO2 bag in the tent. This should help with the "higher" temperatures (I hope), not to mention all the other added benefits of CO2 for the plants.
This is only my second grow ever, so if you growmies notice anything that looks off or something I should address, please feel free to leave comments. I can use all the advice and input I can get. As always, thanks for looking and happy growing!
Week 5: Hello again, thanks for checking in on my grow of Wedding Cheesecake Auto by Fast Buds. So far things have gone pretty smoothly over the last 4 weeks and week 5 saw some good and some bad. First the good, some really good growth this week. Each plant grew around 5". The flower sites are increasing seemingly overnight and the LST had some pretty good results, so far.
Now, the bad. As you can see, in this weeks photos, I have developed a deficiency. I am still new, so I wasn't sure what to think about the yellowing bottom leaves or the burn spots. I thought it could have been any combination of things, from over/under feeding or light burn.
-My 1st mistake was letting it go, hoping it would start to fix itself from the feeding (2 days before last post). Things continued to get worse on the #1 and didn't show any signs of correction after this weeks feeding. So, I asked a question on the site this morning, and GrowingGrannie was kind enough to answer my question quickly and concisely. It seems I have a calcium deficiency and am not feeding them enough on feed day. I am also making a big mistake not tracking ph. I have a new ph tester and some ph up and ph down, on the way, they will be here tomorrow. This way I can check if an improper ph level is causing the issue and address it.
The plants were already fed for this week (on 12/10), before I had the above information from my question. So, all adjustments will be made during this next week. I am really hoping I can turn things around. I am learning so much and am enjoying the process. Thank you for looking, please feel free to comment any thoughts or suggestions, I really appreciate it all! 😎
Week 6: Welcome back! Hopefully we are on the road to recovery from our calcium deficiency. I have learned alot these last 2 weeks, the hard way too.
New Ph stick in hand, I took readings on the feeding solution and discovered I was ok there, solid 6.4. The problem is when I was watering the non-feeding days. I discovered my tap water measures anywhere from 7.0-7.4 and up. I think this was the main problem, high ph and in turn really affected the cal intake and caused all these issues we saw. All that, coupled with too little food on feeding days, caused some damage.
-This week I upped the Bloom nutes and added some Cal-Mag to supplement for my issue. I will likely continue to use the Cal-mag during the regular waterings.
-I also went ahead and defoliated the yellowing, crispy and dead leaves around the bottom to middle to the plants affected. I left the damaged leaves near the canopy alone for now. The newer growth from the last couple of days looks ok so far. Hopefully this was just a minor issue and we can move forward and get some nice nugs. Thanks for stopping by.
