This run is my first time growing with a DWC set up, and also first time growing from clones. I am super impressed with both growing in Hydroponics and growing from cuts. They had 4 weeks of veg, and it has filled out the tent as much as I intended. The mother plant was a single seed gifted to me from a buddy. This first run will be the first I see of the phenotype in flower. I am praying that i like it and am happy with it, as will seem like a waste of time and effort and money growing it to now like the pheno. I wish I was able to pheno hunt this one. I will be pheno hunting TH Seeds London Mint Cake, as I was very impressed with how that turned out.
Week 2 of flower and I can see I should have some nice big buds when fully developed. They finished their stretch at the of week 2 and started to produce terpenes. The choc mint og smell is here!
Week 3 of flower, can see already some nice bud production. Terpenes are building up and making the room stink, has a dark berry chocolatety gassy og smell to it, just how I remember choc mint. The bud structure isn't exactly what I was hoping for but cant complain! Was a free seed sent to me after months of searching for the strain at a time before the v2 was a thing. Buds will be going through the trim bag at harvest so will probs give them more a uniform look to them.
Another great week of bud growth and terpenes production. Think I'll be finished half was through week 9, or at the end of week 9. So far no signs of any hermaphrodite traits. Wish I started flower with a little less light intensity, as I feel that's caused the buds near the top to slightly fox tail, as the ones lower down look abit of a better shape, although smaller.
Week 5 and I'm now positive I'll achieve over 16 oz for the 3x3 grow. This DWC setup has blown my mind with how quick it went through the veg stage. I managed a fuller canopy in 3 weeks in dwc than I managed in 10 weeks in coco. Buds got a nice sweet dark berry og Kush and caramel smell to it.
Week 6 of flower! Have seen some lovely bud production, up to now. Plants are super frosty already, possibly the frostiest I've grown upto now. Buds are super sticky to the touch, terpenes taking me back a few years to when I use to see this strain around alot.
The end of week 7! Seeing some deficiency happening. Not sure weather it's either P or K or Ca or Mg, I assume one of them. Just waiting for the lowers to fatten up abit more then I'm happy to flush and harvest. Probably week 9 as planned. Next grow is in the works currently.
Week 8 is here, and as you can see, the lower temps have helped with setting the purple colour in. Had removed some rather burned crispy leafs, hopinh it wont affect anything. On day 55 i changed the water for fresh water and just added flora kleen. Flushing the plant to harvest in week 9. Dry tent it set up, but i had bad experience with my runts muffin and london mint cake, where they both dried in hot weather and i lost the terpenes. I hope this doesnt happen this time, and hope i have a gassy smelly choc mint og to smoke. My last 2 harvests, Gorilla cookies and cherry cola auto both dried nice, and had same terpenes after drying, so i'm slightly hopefull that i wont run into that issue again. I'll be trimming in trim bag this time, as seen good results using it, making the buds look way more professional in a way.
The end of week 9 is here! The final week of flower! Plant was harvested 30th December 2022. (Harvest results posted in 3-4 weeks time.
Buds have produced gorgeous dense buds. The tent is absolutely packed full of flowers. The aroma coming from the tent packs a punch. If you know if choc mint og you will know exactly what I am smelling. I changed the water for flush on day 57, and was satisfied that it was enough on day 63, and after checking trichomes it was harvested. This week felt especially long, I knew harvest was incoming.
In 63 days she produced some lovely purple tops. Buds came out at a medium to high density, the tops have very little give when squeezed, and the lowers do give with a little bit of pressure applied. No way of testing the THC content currently but I'd guess it at 18%.
15 Weeks clone to harvest. Still have the mother plant around. Will be keeping it around untill the plant has cured and can see weather I do want to keep. I can always try to choc mint og v2, and try more phenotypes, as on this occasion I only had 1 and it wasn't hunted was just a random seed.
Was my first time growing in a DWC set up. Will be running the set up again next run, but with different nutrient line up. First time growing from clone also I was super impressed with how fast they grew. They out grew the mother plant in the vegetative stage.
@scousecityLX, it's a balance of leaves and branches we have to find on plants that grow different from one another 😆 it keeps us on our toes and makes it fun.... enjoy my friend
@Hydro_Hiebs,. Thanks bro! Super strong dark fruits and berry smell crossed with the gassy og smell. Probably the strongest the house has smelled upto now.
Beautiful looking flower, Great looking flower while on the plant & dense looking structure that is for sure. I can hear the knock when those buds drop all the way from here! Beautiful finished product, Beautiful bag appeal. Class act, Fellow Canadian ?
@LegacyMarketFarm,. thank you my dude, the fc-e4800 did amazing with the density, always does, they do have that exact sound you are thinking of haha. Not Canadian lol I wish I was that lucky. I'm from UK, sadly this makes me a criminal to the eye of the law here. Very wrong of them. All the best!
Excellent job.
I fully agree on your review about AN..Jungle juice Trio has everything all those do (except an enzyme) is only 20e for 3x1L bottles. Probably the best micro on the market it has so many nutes in it..
Have a look. I know this an old grow.. but cracking job mate with the bud.. I'm sure you have adjusted your nutes to be more cost effective.
Good Growing
