Popped 3 of these cherry colas and to my surprise I had a 100% germination rate, was hoping for 2 out of 3 but this is definitely a pleasant surprise... the beans were popped directly in my living soil mix and I used golden myco mycorrhizae to dust the hole before I watered in with the turkey baster and a heated seed mat was used ✌️
All 3 of the cherry cola's are doing well.. got them out of the solos and into the one gallons, I used golden myco mycorrhizae to dust the hole to mitigate and chances of transplant shock, but these ladies haven't missed a beat and continue to put on size.. I know the conventional wisdom on autos is to not transplant however imo if you transplant early(before any root touches the bottom or sides of the container) its fine because your just going soil to soil and with a high quality mycorrhizae it actually benefits the plant in the long run!
Got these girls out of the one gallons and into there final home in my favorite tall 5 gallon pots... the bottom 3rd of the soil is pretty hot with extra purple cow compost, grow dots, added worm castings, and two solo cups of straight ocean potting mix, this is pretty much my standard and will be the only "food" that I feed until the Flowering stage!
The ladies are taking to the tall 5 gallon pots nicely... I started to shape them a bit and plot out the quadrants of the plants with garden staples.. also started to introduce new millenium additives adding the Ruby Ful#$% to my recharge watering, I slipped in some plantation black strap molasses as well ✌️
Removed the garden staples from the 2 cultivar that have reached preflower and replaced the staples with bamboo steaks to maximize light penetration to all bud sites and did a light defoliation ✌️
These are starting to get me excited, I'm glad now that I did not cull the 3rd cultivar that was behind, she filled out nicely and is still a bit behind just starting to hit preflower.. however she may end up being the biggest out of the 3 in the long run do to the added veg time.. only thing I don't like about that pheno is she was quite leafy and the bottoms grew a bit wild, however I did the required defoliation and now have her scrogged out in bamboo steaks ✌️
