BLAZED Skunk Dream - Sensi Skunk x Alpine Delight CBD Type: Feminized strain Sativa / indica: 70% sativa 30% indica Flowering time: Average 70 to 75 days Height: Tall but compact plant, grows relatively little during the flowering stage Yield indoors: Maximum 550 to 600 grams per mΒ² Climate zones: Sunny / Mediterranean climate THC / CBD: 1:26 (THC: 0.25% CBD: 7%) Taste and smell: Spicy and floral, with sharp diesel notes I chose the Skunk Dream CBD from Sensi Seeds. I personally stopped smoking THC weed at the beginning of this year, and a few months ago I felt like smoking a joint without getting stoned. A friend told me that there is CBD weed with THC levels lower than 0.2%, and I really liked that idea. A while later, I ordered some CBD seeds from Sensi Seeds since I thought it would be fun to grow it myself. I converted an old cabinet into a stealth grow box. I set up a 50x50x120cm tent from RoyalRoom and created a space above the tent that was originally meant for all the growing supplements, but is now used as a pre-growing area. The tent/cabinet is equipped with an air intake and exhaust with a carbon filter. This will be my first grow! 5-11 15:00: Seed placed for germination using the coffee filter method. 7-11 Temperature: Max 22 degrees Humidity: Between 50% and 60% 16:00: Seed had a little root of 1/1.5cm. I put it in a covered 0.5L pot with Plagron Lightmix that was pre-watered with EC: 0.6 PH: 6.2 and 0.3ml Atami Rootbastic per liter of water. Light on 24/24 for warmth. 8-11 Temperature: Max 22.5 degrees Humidity: Between 50% and 60% 11:15: Seedling is above ground, a bit yellow and not standing straight up yet. (probably due to insufficient light from being covered) Sealed the gaps of the cabinet door with weather strips for better insulation. 23:45: Seedling looks green now, but still not standing straight up. Moistened the top of the soil with a spray bottle. (same mix as 7-11) Timer set to 18/6. The light is off between 02:00 and 08:00.

I put the pot on it (just testing a bit) 20:00: The temperature meter next to the pot shows 30 degrees, maybe a bit too warm... 21:00: I put a piece of cardboard between the heat mat and the pot. 21:10: Temperature probe inserted into the soil to see how warm it is, and the temperature meter next to the pot now shows 28 degrees. 22:00: Temperature meter with probe now indicates that the soil is 27.6 degrees. I removed the mat from under the pot because the soil was getting too warm. The mat is still in the room but on the side, I placed the water container on it for humidity. 12-11 Temperature: 23.9 degrees (lights on) 22.2 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 59% (highest) 52% (lowest) 11:15: The humidity last night with the light off was way too high, as the meter showed 99%. This is because I had placed the water container on the heat mat. For now, I took the water container out of the room. 13:15: I removed the temperature probe from the soil, I was unsure if the measurement was correct. I placed the probe on the cardboard that was on the mat to measure the temperature of the mat. 13:25: The temperature meter indicated that the mat is 30 degrees. I put the water container back in the room but in a different spot than on the mat. Hopefully, the water will be less warm now and evaporate less; if not, I’ll put more water in the container. So the little plant had 2 extra hours of light during the night from 23-11 to 24-11. The timer is working again, I'm keeping an eye on it because if it happens again, I'll use a different timer. I ordered a fan today that's mainly meant for the growing space, because the fan I have in the tent is just a bit too strong to use while the plant is growing. Unfortunately, I couldn't order this much earlier because a fan is really useful for making the plant move, which makes it stronger. Since there were Black Friday deals, I also ordered a humidity controller and a temperature controller, which seems really handy to keep the climate under control. 25-11 Temperature: 23.8 degrees (lights on) 19.5 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 61% (highest) 49% (lowest) I gave the plant 60ml of water with EC: 0.8 PH: 5.8 and 0.3ml Atami per liter of water. She's starting to drink more now, because I have to water her every 2/3 days. She's also growing quite fast, I'm really satisfied at the moment. The only thing I'm a bit worried about are the tips of the leaves, because I see that the tips of the new leaves are starting to turn slightly yellow (see photo 25-11). I think it's because the Lightmix from Plagron only has nutrients for 3 weeks, so she probably needs nutrients now. Setting 1 has a gentle breeze, which is perfect for a young plant. Setting 2 is a bit stronger, and setting 3 blows really well, just as strong as a desk fan. Tomorrow I'm going to repot her, so I haven't had much use for it yet, but I'm well prepared for the next round. It's made from a nutrient barrel that I've cut to size and drilled small holes in. Then I repotted her in the evening, she's now in the Airpot and this is also her final pot. The pot could technically be bigger, but I'm curious how it goes with this 16L pot, next time I might try a larger one. I think the roots look good and healthy :) I gave her 150ml of water with EC: 0.8 PH: 5.8 and 0.3ml Silica Power per liter of water. Now that she's in the final pot, I'm no longer giving her Atami Root Stimulator, but I am giving her Silica Power from B.A.C. Furthermore, I'll only give her Powder Feeding in about 3 weeks, since she's back in new Lightmix that contains nutrients for 3 weeks. Tomorrow I'm going to do the final preparations for the tent, so she still has to stay in the growing space for one more night.

BLAZED Week 4 (30-11 to 6-12) 30-11 Temperature: 23.7 degrees (lights on) 20.7 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 57% (highest) 50% (lowest) The tent is all set for the first grow! I've put a pantyhose over the air intake on the inside of the tent and the outside of the cabinet so that little dust and no pests can be sucked into the tent. I've made a hole on the side of the cabinet for the plugs of the lamp and fan. I've also installed the temperature and humidity controllers right away; I won't use them immediately, but they seemed very handy for the future. The temperature and humidity controller is from the brand Inkbird. They both have a wire with a sensor that measures the environment and digitally indicates the current values. The temperature controller has a connection for a heater and a connection for an air conditioner. You can set it so that the heater turns on at 20 degrees and turns off at 25 degrees, and that the air conditioner turns on at 30 degrees and turns off at 25 degrees. The humidity controller has a connection for a humidifier and a connection for a dehumidifier. You can set it so that the humidifier turns on at 40% humidity and turns off at 60%, and that the dehumidifier turns on at 70% humidity and turns off at 60%. It's now in the tent, the lamp is at 60% power, and the distance between the little plant and the lamp is 60cm. The scrog net is hanging 20 centimeters above the pot. When it is 5 centimeters below the net, I will top it. I also turned on the exhaust and noticed that the temperature in the tent was on the low side (20 degrees). This is because the room where the cabinet is located is only 15.5 degrees since turning on the central heating is quite expensive. The temperature needs to be a bit higher, so that means I either have to heat the whole room or put a heater in or in front of the tent. I had expected this, especially in winter times, which is why I also bought a temperature controller. 23:55: As a temporary solution, I've set the exhaust on a timer switch; it runs during the day when the lights are on for 10 minutes every 3 hours. When the lights are off at night, the exhaust is also off, so the heat stays in the tent until the lamp turns on again and gives off heat. With the lights on, it's now around 25 degrees. 1-12 Temperature: 25 degrees (lights on) 17.8 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 92% (highest) 49% (lowest) Plant height: 9.5cm The meter indicated that last night the humidity in the tent was 92% with the lights off. This is very high, and I'm keeping an eye on it; maybe it's because the exhaust isn't running at night. I've installed the heat mat in the tent for a bit of extra warmth, mainly for at night when the lamp is off. And I've given her 350ml of water because I didn't pre-water her final pot when transplanting. EC: 0.8 PH: 6 and 0.3ml Silica Power per liter of water. Watering is becoming a bit trickier for me now since I can't easily weigh the pot she's in. I did that with the 0.5L pot; I always checked how heavy the pot was before and after watering so that I knew how much water she had consumed. Furthermore, I see that the tips of the upper leaf are still yellow, and they are now pointing a bit downwards. And the lower leaves seem to be getting yellower. This could be because she had too little nutrients since the soil only contains nutrients for about 3 weeks, but it could also be due to something else? I'll see how it goes now that she's in her final pot with fresh soil, which again contains nutrients for 3 weeks. Hopefully, she'll perk up. The lower leaves of my little plant had white spots at first and now they are completely yellow. The leaves above are also turning yellow now, and there are brown spots appearing. And the tips of the upper leaves are also yellow. What could be the cause?

From what I'm seeing in all of your photos in your diary, the bottom leaves are acting quite naturally and dying off. This is completely normal and certainly not a magnesium deficiency (that doesn't start on lower leaves!)... but I'm also going to say that at her age it's past time to be giving her some decent grow nutes - not just the silica. Don't shock her by giving a full dose the first time you feed - go a little slowly and give her 1/2 strength for the first feed - you can increase it next week ... I think you'll see she really appreciates it! As for those bottom leaves, you can cut them off and let the plant put all its energy into the top leaves and bud sites. She's a very pretty plant and is going to do you proud! Just give her some food! Good luck!

I made a SCROG rack because I didn't like the net I was using. The net was a bit elastic and grew a little upwards with the plant. It took some tinkering but the rack is now very stable in the tent. What I also like is that the rack has smaller holes, which gives me more options for securing the shoots. Furthermore, I no longer have the exhaust fan on a timer, because the humidity hit 99% when the light was off. The exhaust was also off because otherwise too much cold air would come into the tent since it was freezing outside. At first, the exhaust would turn on for 15 minutes every hour, and I checked how it went when it would turn on for 15 minutes every hour but this didn't help to lower the humidity much. I'm curious if this will be the solution and how the temperature will be at night in the tent. I set the light to 65% strength. Soon I will switch the light to 12/12 because the rack is starting to fill up nicely. The leaves are also becoming a lighter green in color, so I think they need nutrients, as the nutrients in the Lightmix are now almost gone. But I do see that the fan leaves have burnt tips, and I see some yellowish spots on the leaves (see photos 24-12) does anyone have an idea what it could be? I hope this solves the problem. I'm using Powder Feeding from Green House, unfortunately, I can't add this to the Nutrients section. I gave her 400ml of water with 0.2ml Silica Power per liter, and Powder Feeding Long Flowering from Green House. PH: 6.2 EC: 2 (I made a mistake, the EC was too high. I wanted to give an EC of 1.3 but thought this should be exclusive of the 0.8 starting EC from the tap water) 29-12 Temperature: 23.5 degrees (lights on) 18.5 degrees (lights off) Humidity: 69% (highest) 50% (lowest) I gave her 400ml of water with 0.2ml Silica Power per liter. I also noticed that the leaf tips are yellow/burnt and pointing down. This started before I had the heating on. I’m not sure what the cause could be, maybe the light is too low? Runoff: PH 5.9 EC: 0.7 4th Flush: 9 liters of water. Runoff: PH 5.9 EC: 0.7 5th Flush: 9 liters of water. Runoff: PH 5.9 EC 0.7 6th Flush: 4 liters of water. So I just popped in here again as I saw there had been another answer and wanted to know what someone else's take on your problems was .... and it was you! Just a head's up - this page isn't, unfortunately, like a chat room - no one is notified even if you tag them... But if you've been feeding them, then what you most likely have is a lockout - caused, most likely, by the PowderFeeding which has an enormous amount of nitrogen in it... plants, in flower, don't need as much nitrogen and so that particular nute is often cut down to the bare minimum during flower.... to continue to give it leads to a toxicity which prevents the plant from uptaking the other nutrients it needs - like calcium and magnesium... I'm thinking you need to flush your plant out (3x the pot volume of pH'd water so since you're growing in a 16L pot, that means 48L of pH'd water through each pot)... at the tail end of the flush, give them 1/2 strength calmag and PK and cut your PowderFeed to 1/4 of whatever you were giving... then let them dry out before giving them a watering. When you start feeding them again, you can take the calmag and PK back up to whatever (you might want to increase your PK because this is what the plant is really crying out for) but don't go above 1/2 strength on the PowderFeed... and even that much PowderFeed might be too much... I'm totally unfamiliar with your nutes but I would think they'd have something for flowering? In any event, the amount of nitrogen given at this point needs to be drastically reduced... At night, it sometimes got really warm in the room (19.5 degrees) while the light was on and it was already around 27/28 degrees in the tent. During the day when the light was off, it was actually colder in the room (17 degrees) while I had the heater set to 18, so the temperature wasn't very stable. Now the temperature is nice and stable at 18 degrees, and as you can see in the photos, I placed the probe that measures the temperature above the air inlet. When the light is on at night, it warms up the cabinet a bit, which makes the heater turn on less often, saving costs, and the temperature doesn't rise much in the tent. That's why the EC value is 0.0. I do notice that it's tricky to measure the PH value of RO water because there is a low ion strength compared to the tap water; once there is nutrients in the water, it measures fine. As you can see, there are very few green leaves left, so I assume there is hardly any nutrients left in the buds, which is better for the final result in terms of curing and smoking.

BLAZED Week 18 8-3 Today I harvested her. I trimmed the buds a little bit. The weight of the wet buds is 128 grams, and the weight of the trim waste is 8 grams. It seems like a lot, but I think about 30 grams of dry buds will be left. Since this is my first grow, I think it went pretty well. Unfortunately, I didn't have all the equipment at the beginning of the grow that would have been helpful. The temperatures were on the low side, and I didn't have a fan to make her move. She also had some leaf problems and nutrient deficiencies or toxicities here and there, and unfortunately, she turned hermaphrodite and self-pollinated. So there are quite a few seeds in the buds, but that didn't stop me from continuing with this grow to gain as much experience as possible. I'm really curious how this strain will taste and smell after curing. For the next grow, I'm already pre-growing a little plant, which is a Northern Lights CBD from SeedStockers. I also want to thank everyone for following my adventure; this is just the beginning, and there are many more adventures to come! I want to thank the people who helped me with my growing questions. And a special thank you to MeneerGreen; he helped me before and during my first grow, and I'm really grateful for that! I also recommend checking out his grow reports. The dry weight comes down to 37 grams. I expected this a bit. It's not much, but I certainly can't complain since this is my very first grow. how do you get such a high EC?? about those spots, I read that you water them with a spray bottle? do the leaves get hit too because that could be a cause. other than that, it looks good, good luck πŸ‘

@meneerGreen, I calibrated the EC meter today and checked the nutrient water, the meter was reading 0.3 too high (in the solution of 1.4 it showed 1.7). My nutrient water now has an EC value of 0.8. Is this good or still too high?

@love_2_grow, Allright! I will take a look at those strains. Too bad most of the "pure" CBD strains are autoflowers.. My growspace is a bit tiny so i need to use LST and SCROG for sure. Not that autoflowers will get too big, but its nice to switch the light cycle to flower when needed so i can manage the height of it a bit.

Blazed, thanks for your kind words, I enjoyed it and from now on it can only get better. The first yield may not be much, but my first yield wasn't much more either. It's about knowing a bit now how it works, and that's the most important thing. You shouldn't be surprised if your next round yields double. Everything with these little plants revolves around attention and love, and the reward will follow naturally. And if it fails once, don't be sad; it still happens to me sometimes. It's about learning from your mistakes and not being afraid to break a plant and start over. Diving deep into the subject can also help, of course. It looks good, I would remove the bottom 2 shoots, with SCROG you have enough with the top 4 to 6 shoots. It's still a bit early to SCROG, I don't know the strain so I don't know how fast it will go when you switch to 12/12. Generally, you would switch with a sativa when one third of your rack is full and with an indica two thirds, for a hybrid somewhere in between. But I don't know the strain like I said, I have an outlaw amnesia and I've had it before, and I switch as soon as I start tying down the shoots. With another strain of mine, I let half mature, so it's a bit about knowing what your strain does. That's why I say write everything down, then you'll know next time when to switch. Even I sometimes make the mistake of switching too late and then you have a jungle where you can't do anything with it (for me, unknown strains back then). I once even broke off the grow and started over, it became such a mess, so write everything down and learn from it. Good luck! πŸ˜πŸ‘
