This week saw some speedy growth thanks to the Hortilux 700es. Hand watered every 2-3 days. The light is 18” from the canopy, temps have been steady at 25 with 40% humidity. Transplanted the chosen plants k to the auto pots with air pods.
All plants reacted well to the manifolding, reservoirs set up. Pineapple Express seeds from crop king had poor germination at the beginning of the process. Crop king was quick to send me new seeds as per their germination guarantee and had better success. They are 8 days behind the Laughing Buddha and blueberry. I am planning on allowing the Pineapple Express to catch up before I flip to flower. I am using chitosal from microbial mass to stimulate a stress response and get some fast growth will follow up with results. All strains have their own separate reservoir
Lights are at full power growth is happening quick.
Pics say it all massive gains in growth this week. Thirsty plants, each 40L reservoir is lasting 1 week. Using chitosal on the Pineapple Express to test if it causes faster growth. Next weeks photos will hopefully prove the product works. I will have to be patient and keep topping and weaving the blueberry and laughing Buddha to let Pineapple Express catch up
This week the Blueberry from Dutch Passion made some serious gains. The stalk on one has been completely healed for a week or more while one has just about closed itself up. I expect heavy growth this up coming week as the energy will be focused on growth not healing. I have been topping and weaving to allow the Pineapple Express from Crop king to catch up as they are 9 days behind due to poor germination and waiting on replacements. I will be using Chitosal and doing a foliar application one week prior to flower flip. I will be adding a second net to help support the weight and strip everything underneath to force the energy into the apical meristems. Reservoirs holding steady at 5.8pH, saw minor CalMg deficiency in the laughing Buddha and increased the amount to 2.1 ml per gallon.
This week the grow saw the second support net install. All three strains are growing fast. Tonight I will be applying Chitosal as a foliar application at a rate of 1.25ml / litre. This week I will be reducing the light cycle one hour per night for the next six days. The laughing Buddha is a heavy feeder, but not surprising looking at the size and density. I will be performing a large cleanup on the vegetation underneath the netting after giving the plants a couple weeks to adjust into flower. Daily pH checks and foliar examinations have shown no signs of stress. Will be adding Silicate for the next few weeks to aid in the pre flower stretching.
This past week I pushed the nutrient EC value to 2.8 these plants need it! Tomorrow is the first 12/12 light cycle, will be adding Si to help with internodal spacing. Chitosal definitely sparked growth, one more foliar application before I add it to the reservoir. Am excited to see flower formation this scrog is large. Timing will be improved next time by popping more seeds to guarantee germination.
Week 1 of flower is finally here. Tons of growth! One more foliar application of Chitosal this Saturday. These plants need a thorough cleaning underneath at the two week point to allow flower initiation without stress. I will be watching closely for deficiencies in laughing Buddha and blueberry. With the size of the plants a heavy feed schedule might not satisfy requirements. I see a noticeable increase in the quality of plant growing directly under the Hortilux in comparison to the mars hydro supplemental lighting. I am debating adding flora nectar to my nutrient regiment to help in the flavour profiles. I have recently added terpinator from Rhizoflora to increase resin glands on bud structure. I can’t wait to see flowers develop, am hoping for a heavy yield from laughing Buddha and blueberry
Maintenance week! All reservoirs, lines, and trays cleaned. EC is at 2.5 to accommodate the sheer size of the plants. This 4 x 8 tent is full! This weekend I will be cleaning and trimming all of the plants below the canopy. Lots of flower sites on these healthy plants explaining the strong smell. This week I decided to try add General Hydroponics Flora Nectar to the nutrient regiment, hoping it improves the quality of terpenes and taste. Will be starting to order new seeds in the next week or two to start the perpetual harvest I will be running a sativa, indica, and CBD mix.
Prolific flower formation this week. Smells from each strain have really started to show. The blueberry is by far the most potent smell. Lots of flower sites this should be a heavy harvest. Another chitosal treatment is happening this week at 2.5ml per gallon in the last third of the reservoir.
The addition of big bud from advanced nutrients has packed on some size. I had to add a third round of trellis netting for the blue berry. Almost half way through flower and things are going smooth. I have noticed a little potassium deficiency beginning will remedy this next reservoir change.
This week I did some defoliation to open up the canopy. Lots of laughing Buddha colas, more than I thought there were. That is where the potassium deficiency came from. I have the EC at 3.2 for laughing Buddha and blueberry and 2.8 for Pineapple Express. I keep shifting the Hortilux 700 es from left to right making sure everywhere is getting some exposure to the far red and UV spectrum. It is definitely a pain in the ass and I definitely will want to get a second Hortilux or equivalent to replace the mars hydro lights freeing those for a veg tent. There is a lot of cannabis in this 4x8 tent I am looking forward to the next few weeks, I will be adding advanced nutrients over drive and keeping the night temps cool to get the density and extra size I am looking for.
Week six of flower saw some good gains in size and smell. I did some pretty heavy defoliation over the last couple weeks to strip below the canopy ensuring I have proper air flow and no humidity issues. I have the laughing Buddha still in mid bloom as it is a ten week or more plant. I am getting close to the end for blueberry and Pineapple Express. I will be checking trichomes this up coming week. Lots of buds hope they taste as good as they smell.
Almost there! The blueberry closest to the tent door is now on a flush with chelated Mg and S. The Pineapple Express and last blueberry are on a ripen nutrient solution. Laughing Buddha still has a couple weeks to go but is coming into the late bloom phase of its life. Looking forward to harvesting and seeing what’s on the scales. Overall I think the Chitosal product was worth the money. I saw immediate reaction to the PGR in foliar growth and trichome production. Am having all the cannabis tested, will post results.
