Week 14 days 92-98. I've reduced the light cycle from 18 to 14 hours to reduce heat stress. It may reduce yield as well based on comments I've read in other growers diaries. An oz per plant would be nice. Of course more would be better but an oz makes a pound of cannabutter. Reducing the light hours is reducing the purpleness in the stems of og kush and gorilla glue but Purple chill still has purple stems
The Natrona sisters spend their nights in the garage where the temps are 10-15 degrees cooler than in the day temps in the tent. Night temps ranged this week between 63-66 with rh 51-76%. The high rhythm comes after a rain.
During the day, I'm keeping the tent open while circulating 2 fans. Day Temps can reach 80 so it gets hot in there. This week 75-79 with rh 43-55%.
Sunday day 92 watering, instead of limiting to the normal consumption amount, I flooded each plant with 1 gal of water with 1 tsp cal mag and 1 tsp tiger bloom.
Tuesday 94 used up my tiger bloom 4 tsp in 3 gal and 3 tsp cal mag ( water amount is for 3 plants)
Thurs 96 3 tsp cal mag in 3 gal.
Saturday flooded each plant with 1 gal of water. From here forward I will be flushing all plants with filtered water at 1 gal for each plant every other day.
This week has been about the trichomes.
Using an Ankylin 1000x wifi microscope camera, trying to get a close up of them. What an ordeal! I need at least 5 hands to take pics that have any clear image. Oh and an additional person to recessuitate me after passing out from holding my breath to minimize hand shake.
How many are clear, milky, amber?
Well from the photos most are milky at 98 days with 5-10% amber if that many. As I'm now flushing them in preparation of harvest, I can only hope they ripen up in the next week.
At 3 full weeks of veg, my plants are 3 different heights 9, 7 and 3.5 inches, should I raise the lights from 16 inches to encourage more vertical growth? Typically, how far apart should the nodes be?
I don't know about the Purple Chill but I myself am growing both a Gorilla Glue and an OGKush in the same tent and can tell you they're very different plants in terms of height and structure.... They're both almost 6 weeks old now and the OGKush is a monster I've had to keep in check while Gorilla Glue is a little tamer, a little more "ladylike"... (it's my "Next UP" diary).
What I would do is start LSTing them now - get the taller ones down to somewhere close to where the Gorilla Glue is in terms of canopy and consider Scrogging all of them when they start into flower.. That's going to be your best bet for keeping them all in sufficient light and not have OG and Purple crowding out the light on GG...
Nodes on indica dominate strains are fairly close together - certainly much closer together than on sativa strains ... raising the lights would encourage more stretch but that is their natural growth pattern ... I would still hold those two monsters-in-waiting to let GG keep up with them...
Good luck!
For higher humidity if you already have a humidifier I suggest to switch off completely fans and exhaust, that should be enough and are not really needed for now.
You could also cut a bottle and make a humidity dome.since they are still small
Good luck on your grow👊
@kashmir, Hi Kashmir, thanks the bottle is a good tip as I'm not using fans yet and run exhaust on time with lights. Glimpsed your gelato33 grow per @LegacyMarketFarm for all you did with harvest. Wow. When I get to harvest ( if I have enough) I'll try the bubble hash.
@Natrona, maybe a week or two, sugar leaves usually have more amber trichomes than the bud itself, i was thinking getting that same microscope 🔬 i currently have 90x jewelry one with the led light.
Multitasking like an 🐙
😂
@StarLorr, based on growers comments, I should be seeing at least 20%amber in the tricombs. I'm not seeing that. I'm not seeing any amber but lots of milky. Using Ankylin 1000x wifi microscope. I just need more hands ✋️ 👐 4 or 5 sounds about right 😅
growdiaries just rock!!
Nice folks helping others and sharing their experiences and the industries partners with their contests and prizes just keeps the whole community going and participating!
Regarding your grow i see it as qualities before quantity ☺️😉
Muy buena suerte con tu grow... me encanta este diario por que empecé un diario medio similar con una gorilla banana de bsf y tiene casi el mismo tiempo. Ire comparando mi diario con el tuyo. 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
@CULTIVATORFROG, germinating was a problem. 1) I tried planting directing substrate ( fox farm ocean soil) growers said this too hot for seeds, 2) got a seed start medium- it was all sphagnum moss which held way too much water. This time, germinated with paper towel, then got seed start mixture medium mixed into top 2 -3 inches of foxfarm soil. So here I am in week 3veg . 😊
@Natrona,que mala suerte , tenes idea que paso en el cultivo anterior? Cual fue la causa de la perdida de las semillas? Te deseo mucha suerte para este cultivo. La naturaleza te va a devolver lo que perdistes con una hermosa plantita.
@Drgreen13, hi Drgreen13, I have no expectations for nice purples on this grow due to over feeding, and other stressed conditions. With no expectations, there is no disappointment. If I manage with the garage and ice treatment, to bring out any colors beyond blue green, I will be happily surprised.
