Here we go on another run together and trust me, this will definitely be something different and very interesting as I've been invited to be a 'Test Grower' for Terpyz Genetics.
Formerly Terpyz x Kalyseeds who, for those 'in the know', are known for their breeding of cannabis mutations and the results they've gotten. Terpyz has asked me to perform a pheno hunt on two of their new MUTANT strains; DW IBL x (Pablo Picasso | Lemon Alien NL) x Blue Booby and Z.U.P. SWAG V4 Big Purple and I'll tell you... I'm SUPER stoked to get these seeds germinated and begin to increase my knowledge of growing these mutant strains!
So how this hunt is going to work is this: Germinate 10 seeds(regulars) of each strain, grow out the plants and establish which are Male/Female, remove ALL males and continue to grow and photograph the females picking out the female of each strain which best represents the traits that the breeder is seeking... sound like fun doesn't it!

THE STRAINS:
~ Duckweb IBL X Alien Picasso F1) X Blue Booby F1 ~
~ Z.U.P SWAG is (SWAG variegated Ultra V4 (Kalyseeds) x Opalo NL TerpyZ Select F2) ~
Description: [Duckweb IBL X Alien Picasso F1) X Blue Booby F1]
This line brings together some of our favorite Duckfoot lines. The mother plant of this cross: Duckweb IBL x Alien Picasso F1 had intoxicating Caramel Candy terps with Pine and Fuel undertones.
Duckweb IBL from Olympic Seeds pure Indica originating in Afghanistan. It is an inbred webbed landrace with beautiful magenta/pink pistils, good potency and outstanding stability. It has an extremely Uplifting and Happy, Social high associated with Sativa.
Alien Picasso F1 is a cross that we made of a super gassy OG Kush-leaning Pablo Picasso and Lemon Alien, both of which are genetics derived from Kalyseeds.
Alien Picasso F1 (Pablo Picasso x Lemon Alien)
Blue Booby F1 (Puffin F3 X Moon Duck F4) is a Poly-hybrid webbed leaf by Fygtree.
Puffin (Super Silver Haze x Tropica Race (Purple Haze X Indian Summer Kaly Duck))
Moon Duck (Ducksfoot IBL x Vanilluna)
Description: [ Z.U.P SWAG is (SWAG variegated Ultra V4 (Kalyseeds) x Opalo NL TerpyZ Select F2) ]
There's not a lot of information on this strain yet because it's so new but what I've been able to gather so far is, that one phenotype of Z.U.P Swag was a tall plant with a Christmas tree structure had purple flowers, and leaves with prominent purple coloration. It also had good flower structure, and excellent vigor. The only other data I could gather is that the male used was from a Opalo population which was selected in the 2nd generation, with dense flower structure and great terpenes! I'm sure this grow will add to the available knowledge of this strain!

WEEKLY UPDATE:
2/9- Here we go into the first week of veg for these cuties!
All of the babies have their first real leaves deployed and will soon need to undergo their first transplant into larger pots. Luckily enough one of the Z.U.P. SWAG seeds, which had previously sprouted but had its shell stuck until I gave it an assist, survived and has joined the others!
I still have one of the DW IBL's the had a similar issue with a stuck shell that I similarly gave an 'assist' on, but it had still not opened up. Upon close inspection today I saw that the inner membrane of the shell was still wrapped around the cotyledon's so I, super gently removed it. I figured that since I had already basically 'written off' that seed it was worth the risk to go in and mess with it, which I normally would never do on a seedling that small but this one was obviously hell bent on surviving so I keep an eye on it and see what happens!
Currently all I'm doing is making sure that their medium stays relatively moist by watering them twice daily via a spray bottle filled with well water that is ph'd to 6.4 @ 75β.
2/11- Today I prepped medium for transplanting the whole group into larger pots so they can start to get some nutrition as they are currently in sterile medium. My medium mix for this transplant consists of Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite with 1 cup/g of Wiggle Worm castings and 2 tbsp/g of Gaia Green 4-4-4 All Purpose slow release dry amendment, which I thoroughly mix by hand (make sure you wear a dust mask as you don't want to breath this in).
I used some 5" Jiffy peat pots for this first transplant which I filled with my medium mix. After transplanting into the 5" pots, I watered them in with well water that I ph'd to 6.5 @ 74β and placed them back in the 4x4. I have the light hung 40" above them currently and will let them grow into it for a bit before I take it any lower. Next week I'll be adjusting the light cycle to 14/10 for 2-3 weeks at which time I'll probably flip it to 12/12 for a week to induce flowering. After flowering begins and I can determine the sexes of the groups, I'll remove all male plants. After removing all of the males, I'll return the light cycle back to 18/6 and revert the females that remain back into veg until I decide which I'll be moving outdoors to finish and which will be flowering in the tent.
2/13- Today I checked all the pots and they were lite so I went ahead and watered all the seedlings with well water that I ph'd to 6.5 @ 74β. I gave them each enough to thoroughly moisten the medium, after which their pots were noticeably heavier.
Today I was ready to dispose of one of the failed DW IBL seeds which had sprouted but had its shell stuck preventing it from opening. I subsequently removed the shell but he cotyledon leaves never opened up and after two or three days I determined it to be a bust. Before chucking this one I used a magnifying glass and saw that it was the membrane from inside of the shell that was still stuck. Being as gentle as possible I scratched off the membrane and almost instantly the two cotyledon leaves began to open, completely yellow but opened!
2/15- I skipped watering today as they all look perky! I don't want the medium in the pots to dry out completely, but to be just moist before I water again in order for the roots to get oxygen.
Also, the little DW IBL is amazing... Within 48 hours it had dramatically transformed, turning green and had its first leaf set emerging! We now have Eight DW IBL's in the line up!
Well it's full speed ahead now to the 2nd week for the mutants and I personally can't wait for these to get bigger so we can see what the leaf structures are looking like between the two strains! See you next week! ππ€β€οΈ
Thank you very much for following along and for all the positive comments and β€οΈ! May ALL your days and grows be Blessed! πβ€οΈ
Always nice to see you keep a clean house mate! π Plants looking on point, will be interesting to see these freakshows develop! π All the best TheCannaProphet, warm regards Antonio
@DutchPassion_Official, Aw shucks... you're too kind my friend! Good to hear from you Antonio, hope all is well in your world... Have a very Blessed day my friend! ππβ€οΈ
Great to see another Terpyz in GD π€π»π€π»
Your plants look awesome. I did a pheno hunt on the Vino Tinto and and exactly half of them were males and females. I took the most vigorous one and cleaned it off soil and put it into my hydroponic system. I'm super pumped to see them flourish. I also run the already released Forgotten Haze Cake. My vanilla gorilla didn't sprout and the other one was super stunned and I replaced its Rockwool cube and it seems to start to catch on, but after weeks it still looks like it's a few days old. But I'm not giving up π€π»π
@Ju_Bps, Yes... mutated strains used to achieve plants that do not have the look of cannabis, but have all of the other qualities that we love! Great for stealth grows!ππ
