The next 2 seeds up are Mephisto Freebies. One is (3 Bears OG x Samsquanch) x Samsquanch, so for me that’s “essentially” OG Kush. I’ll likely call it that, even if it’s a touch inaccurate. Who cares. The other is Fugue State x Forum Stomper, which strangely enough is exactly what Forgotten Cookies is. I’ll likely call that one Forgotten Cookies since it’s the same parentage, even if that’s also slightly inaccurate. Again, who cares. The pots this time will actually be in my new Autopot system. I’m unsure yet exactly how this will go or how exactly I will use it, seeing as at least to start off this will be an organic grow. I’m debating switching over to synthetics, but may also trial blending the two just to see what happens (low strength synthetic nutes delivered via Autopot to the bottom, low strength organics added as a top dress). I’ll wing it. 2/19 Seeds put in shot glass 2/20 Dumped 1 cubic foot of Buildasoil Light Recipe into a tote and mixed in some perlite/vermiculite blend and a few scoops of left over Coco Loco just to get up to a full 10 gallons to fill my two 5 gallon pots. 2/24 Both have just barely popped up out of the soil. Tomorrow will be day 1.

2/25 Day 1. The OG Kush seems to have had an easier time sprouting than the Forgotten Cookies. It’s got a small head start now, let’s see if they even out. 3/1 All is well so far. Moved OG Kush to the left and FC to the right to better balance them on the light. Light adjusted to 165 PAR / 14.3 DLI.

3/19 Did initial LST on the OG Kush, leaving the FC alone for now as it’s lagging behind. Light adjusted to 260 PAR / 22.5 DLI 3/20 Hooked up the autopot system finally. For now I’m adding silica and Jack’s 20-10-20 Peat Lite until getting an EC of around 700. PH is around 6.5 3/21 Light adjusted to 300 PAR / 25.9 DLI

3/25 More LST for both now 3/27 Light adjusted to 365 PAR / 31.5 DLI 3/29 The reservoir was empty so I unhooked it, cleaned it up, and added back in RO water with Silica and Jack’s 20-10-20 Peat Lite. EC was 900, pH 6.4 3/31 Big defoliation day for both. Also redid LST all around. Raised the light a bit higher, adjusted to 375 PAR / 32.4 DLI

4/2 More work done to both towards a proper lollipop today. FC is clearly in flower mode but the OG Kush is honestly still more veg looking, I hope this doesn’t end up conflicting. 4/3 More LST and lollipopping today. I’m taking more off than previous grows because I’m trying to minimize larf more than I have. Light adjusted to 465 PAR / 40.2 DLI 4/5 I started my new nutrient mix today. It’s a more complete formula of Silica, Calmag, Jack’s 20-10-20, Humic acid, Yucca wetting agent, and Hydroguard, mixed in that order. EC after all that is right around 1.0 4/6 Did just a little more defoliation on both but I should probably stop soon with both now firmly in flower.

4/8 Mixed up more water for the res. Final outcome was a little stronger than I intended at 1.2 EC but that should be fine. pH was 6.1 4/13 Starting to see signs of light/heat stress. We did have a heat wave hit so I suppose that makes sense. I turned the lights down a touch and adjusted the light schedule to 20/4.

4/15 Even with reducing the light schedule to 20/4 I am seeing more signs of heat/light stress. Average temps in the tent are around 80 degrees. The highest PAR reading I can get right now is the top of the Forgotten Cookies, measuring 630 PAR / 45.4 DLI. All the rest of the top sites in the tent are high 500s – low 600s, which absolutely should be below the general max they can take. I’m just gonna leave everything be and hope it works itself out because I really don’t have any adjustments to make, at least with my knowledge. 4/16 Both look much happier now. Had to do another big round of defoliation on the OG, that thing probably could have filled this tent by itself at this point. 4/21 Both are on cruise control at this point with me just topping off the reservoir here and there. The RO water going into it now has been PH’d to 6.1 with an EC of 1.3-1.5

4/22 Double checked where light intensity currently is. I’m getting about 640 PAR / 46 DLI at the highest part of the canopy, which is right where I wanna be. 4/25 The yellowing at the tips for FC seems to be getting worse. PH did drift up to 6.6 in the res but that’s probably not the cause. I’ve been assuming it’s light burn and after checking the PAR numbers again it was a touch high, around 47 DLI. I lowered the light intensity down to 610 PAR / 44 DLI. I suppose it could be nute burn, but I haven’t seen much in the way of clawing or dark green leaves. It is the first run with the autopot system though so maybe I’m going too hard considering there is zero runoff growing like this. Either way I decided to do a mini flush by dumping 2 gallons of RO water into the res, following my usual mix but skipping the calmag and nutrients. EC of that mix was only around 275 and after dumping it into the res with what water remained it became 410. I’ve been debating doing a flush like this anyways since I assume salts gotta be building up, and adding a weak EC water like this might help get them down.

5/1 I think it’s safe to say the yellowing was just due to the lights. Testing my PAR numbers a bit more closely revealed much higher PAR numbers than my last adjustment. Not sure what happened there. Readjusted them to about 630 PAR / 45.3 DLI. I also trimmed off a good portion of the yellowing fan leaves from both (honestly the trim was needed anyways for airflow).

5/7 It felt like my pH pen was off so I recalibrated it. Sure enough my reservoir was below where I intended at 5.7. I added more water and brought the pH up to 6.1 5/9 New pH pen arrived today. I was losing confidence in my old Apera PH20 so I got the Apera GS1. Sure enough comparing the 2 gave different numbers so I’ll be using the new one now. 5/10 It seems I keep needing to lower the light intensity to stop the burn. While there’s not anything I can do now to make everything perfect, I do think I’ve answered a lot of questions with this grow. I have a list of changes I’ll be implementing for the next grow to prevent the same issues from happening again. The major points are to switch to 1 plant in the small tent instead of 2 to allow for more training on the plant, which will allow me to keep the light further away from canopy height. As for measuring light intensity, my PAR meter is probably questionable but I do not have the money for a fancy new one so I’ll be focusing less on PAR/DLI and just eyeballing the plants more to guide me.

The Forgotten Cookies started off real good but at the beginning of flower had many issues with light burn. The OG was right next to it and doing fine, but for whatever reason it just didn't like too much light. This set back the OG Kush a little too and it would have been better to grow this by itself.
