Velvet Punch F1 is from Breeder Jack Greenstalk. Its origins are: F1 originally bred by @DojaDNA, then Selected at F1 and F2 by @JackGreenstalk
The ultimate goal is 3 plants in 5 gallon SIP buckets to grow under a 42" x 46" scrog net.
The Players:
โข Seed # 1 is a Female Tester Seed from Brothers Grimm that is a cross between Alani Skunk x Gluey
โข Seed #2 is a Female Tester for Irie Genetics (Rasta Jeff), which is a cross between Heavy Duty Fruity X Afterglow.
โข Seeds #3 are F3 Regular Photoperiods by Jack Greenstalk, called Velvet Punch. This cultivar is a collaboration. The F1 was originally bred by "DojaDNA," then Selected at F1 & F2 by Jack Greenstalk to make these F3s.
Note: Since the Velvet Punch are Regs, I plant to cull the 4 strongest, and send leaf samples to Rimrock Analytics for Sex Testing. In the end I only need 1 of possibly 6 to be female to fill the 3rd and Final Bucket.
โข Home Life: These plants will live in a Mars-Hydro 4 x 4 tent.
โข Photon Source: Two MarsHydro SP-3000 lights.
โข SIP Buckets: Made up of Tractor Supply 5-gallon buckets with GrowBucket Inserts
โข Medium: Their roots will tickle their toes and explore the insides of a 5-gallon bucket loaded with Baja (Brand) Coco. Perlite & Vermiculite are also in the mix.
โข Dinner Time: They'll also be drinking and eating FloraFlex nutrients.
โข Supplements
(1) Mono-Silicic Acid
(2) Mr. Fulvic
(3) Tribus (Microbes)
(4) Orca (Microbes)
(5) Photosynthesis Plus (Microbes)
(6) CaliMagic (Ca/Mg)
(7) SLF-100 (Enzymes)
(8) Recharge (More Microbes)
(9) Ez-Wet (Wetting Agent)
โข And various other goodies to combat root rot, fungus gnats, etc.
โข Note: The Microbes are rotated and not all given at the same time. There is some overlap.

Update: Day 4
Velvet Punch:
The Velvet as of Day 4 are lagging overall. One of the plants is developing as it should and pretty much is on par with the Irie and Brothers Grimm.
Two of them have their Cotyledons trapped in the seed-shell membrane. The 4th one has stopped progressing.
To make up for this stall, I have planted 2 other seeds (6 total).
I only have 4 Rimrock Sex Tests on hand so 2 of these will go to an early grave.
Tent Update:
As you can see in the tent photo, I'm still waiting on two plants to finish out on 12/12.
The larger one is a Critical Purple Auto that turned out to be a photo.
Smaller Blackstrap (Gnome Automatics / Brother Mendel)
Blackstrap's trikes are all cloudy, but she is being stubborn about amber trichomes.
Scrog News:
I removed the legs from my scrog net and replaced them with ratchet straps (just the top for now).
Table fits just as I hoped. Zero extra clearance for the legs inside my (hidden) flood tray.
Making the net pretty much the size of the tent may pose adjustment issues in the very back.
See photos for how I modified my scrog for ceiling suspensions.
Floor ratchet straps will be installed to give resisting force the plants give as they push up.
The flood tray has a lip that should make it easy to hook it without going down to tent frame.
Day 6 - Continued - I couldn't take the legginess of those scrawny stems. Just did a quick transplant into solo cups and added more coco mix to the top.
Day 7 - The Velvet Punch seeds are showing some negative traits. Some of them seem to be stuck under the shell membrane. The other 2 cultivars are progressing along. I did add a little nutrients for the first time. I went with 0.600 EC @ 5.8 pH.
@Togoutouseg,
It's just luck of the pheno. I am growing 4 of them, and only 2 are so dramatically black/purple.
These are tester seeds for a breeder who is still trying to work out the kinks for this F3.
@Jack_Greenstalk, Thanks for stopping by. Keep me on your tester short list. I'm not a huge consumer, but I do love growing and photographing them. When they are testers it seems to give me more sense of purpose.
