24 hrs in a cup of water in darkness, 24 hours in a wet paper towel in darkness + 3 days = All 4 seeds broke ground on Xmas.
I start in Solo cups with half Biobizz Light Mix and the bottom half Coco Loco.
Alternating Great White and Fish Shit with each watering. Only watering every 4 days, and always adding CalMag from Wk 3 to Wk 4 of flower when I'll replace it with Sweet.
Transplanted into 3g, moved them into the big tent, then flipped them at the end of Week 8 (just after these pics). Great White in the 3g pots for the transplant, and watering every 5 days now (changed from every 4 so if I'm watering on Monday I won't water gain until Sunday). Fed once this week at the start of Week 8- the last W before transplant.
EDIT: Somehow I got my dates wrong so I'm adjusting. Might also explain why it's felt like they were behind by a week (because I was behind by a week).
They've stretched about 2-3 inches this week (late Wk 2 of flower). Fed this week (1/2 dose of the Flora Series- which may have been a week early).
Made the mistake of cranking up my lights to 75% (from 50) on the first day of Wk 3, leaves wilted and canoed so I cut them back to 55-60% and they're happy again (and again, another sign I was off by a week).
Happy Growing! Daughter was in the hospital for 8 days for a surprise surgery so I was just throwing up the bare minimum here. No wonder I lost track of time. She's doing great now btw and my support plants helped me through it (in more than 1 way). 👊😤
Just watering with Mag-sulfate instead of Cal-Mag and Great White or Fish Shit this week after feeding at the end of Week 3. It's early week 4 and they're still stretching but fortunately I've got room for it, after moving my inline fan outside of the tent. I finally had a great run last year at the end of Oct (after many bad auto runs) and this year everything's even more dialed in. Cruise control grow really, now with only 1 more feed and maybe 3 more water-ings left. Some cold weather might have set them back a little but I'll post more pics at the end of Wk4.
EDIT: I set them back by counting wrong. They're a week younger which could also explain why 1 plant was still angry for more CalMag this week.
Thanks for visiting! I'll put a little EDIT message in each week of flower like this, so apologies for any confusion! 👊😤
I'm working on a Planet of the Grapes grow in smaller tent- they're about a month behind but even there- everything's truly dialed in and holy hell is that a good feeling. Now I'm just wasting time on Youtube shopping for genetics and refreshing my growing memory.
EDIT: Shared a video. Feels like the shed is in it's "final form" but prob not - at least I'll have this to look back on but regardless, "Skylab" has come a long way in 18 months.
Good luck out there! 😤👊🙏
Near the end of Week 6, I'm pretty sure I slowed them down by a week or lost track of something when my teen daughter had a unexpected health crisis and surgery a month ago (she's doing great now). I think I over-watered by a day for a couple weeks in veg, and I tried to fight the cold temps in the first week of flower using seedling mats that got hot as hell overnight. Not big mistakes but we'll see. They're very healthy, the back two girls (different strains) are fading purple- 1 Notorious THC went straight purple everywhere in a few days, the Ripper Do-G is turning now, slowly in splotches up and down.
Wondering if I need to hit these with more Sweet during flower because of Coco Loco, or if the plants in the back are just getting colder when the lights go out. Just thinking of it right now, so I'll move my temp gauges further back and see. I run my lights at night but it's been in the 50's during the day lately and that could explain it I guess? I stopped feeding in Wk6 but still giving Sweet and GW.
Thanks for visiting and good luck with your grow!
😤👊
Trying Winter Frost when watering (twice) this week. Plants are finishing and going through about 3 liters each every 3 days (mid-flower it was just about 3 liters each every 5 days, then every 4 days in Wks 5 and 6).
I'll just put water through them a couple more times + Sweet. Thinking 2 wks or so to go, but I'll start checking trichomes soon so we'll see.
Growing in a shed makes every run tricky, but I took a chance germ'ing on Xmas day, because I really only want to use a heater or the window ac for big temp swings, not as an everyday tool. It's just too damn expensive. But in Va, I can veg in a closet in the house for those bad months which are really just Jan/Feb and then July/Aug. And the rest of the year the weather is nearly ideal (the shed's insulated and elevated and I only run my lights at night), so I really only need a dehumidifier and fans most of the time.
Thanks for visiting! And happy harvests!
To be fair, my success these last 2 grows (I pulled over 1lb off 3 photos last Oct after struggling badly with my first 3-4 attempts) had a lot to do with finding a single grow-style/mentor online and keeping it simple. For me- "Welcome to the grow tent" on Youtube, or WTTGT (he calls himself GT) has been a critical resource for me - after starting out knowing almost nothing. Just want to give credit where it's due!
Nothing left to do! The buds are super dense but not very big.
I'm still new at "succeeding" at this so I don't know what I'm talking about most of the time, but what I'm noticing with 3 other girls who were just flipped to flower after 8 full weeks of veg is that- I was right when I suspected I topped these 4 a little too close to the day I flipped to flower, so those bud sites didn't have enough time to recover and stretch a little. I was forced to veg a week longer than I wanted with the 3 new girls, and they had days to recover from topping, now they're at least as tall as these girls at the start of flower and every top looks ready to explode!
Lesson learned and also maybe a lesson about how to manage a crazy-stretchy strain- top and flip soon after and they stay a little shorter.
They've bulked up, but tbh I didn't know what to expect from Ripper or HSC - didn't pay much for the seeds so it was worth it to start in the middle of winter, and get an early harvest but compared to my last harvest (3 Mamiko Chem Cookies gave me 17 oz) - I don't expect to get 1/2 of that (so maybe 8 oz off these 4, hopefully!). If not I've got some Ethos in Week 5 of flower and more Chem Cookies in Wk 1 of flower so - should be an amazing year!
EDIT: Tester buds have not disappointed and first impression is that the Notorious THC has a bigger kick to it, which makes sense. They were sticky as hell. I didn't know what to expect from either strain, so I'm happy 1 has a big kick to it, and the Do-G was also strong with a gassy taste but probably just suffers from the comparison. Still a big head high.
WE NEED MORE SMOKE REPORTS IN THESE DIARIES! I'VE SEEN ENOUGH "I'LL COME BACK AND LET YOU KNOW" COMMENTS THAT ARE THE LAST COMMENTS ON A DIARY.
I'll do my part. I want to include a lab report on THC%'s with my smoke reports from now on. Everything's just about dry after only 5-6 days (but that happened in Oct so I think the conditions in my shed are just excellent and I wait until plants are pretty dried out before chopping). I'll start jarring and watching rh levels then get a final weight for the harvest report.
Happy growing homies! Chopped at the end of Week 8 of flower. Thanks for visiting! 🙏😤
I've had weak autos with more potency. Two plants, very small fairly tight buds covered in orange hairs, and it's a pretty "reveal" when you peel off the leaves. Gassy stinky and although it isn't cured, I'm just talking about the effects. If a strain has some nice smells, tastes, colors - that's just a bonus. Truly the only things I care about are potency and (a distant 2nd is) yield. Weak for a regular smoker. I could've let them go a week or two longer, to be completely fair, but the grow was almost perfect otherwise. Prob won't run Ripper again with so many others to try out. The Planet of the Grapes that I'm running, along with Cali Connection LA Cookies and Mamiko Chem Cookies put both of these strains to shame already.
Looking back a month after harvest I think I chopped 2-3 weeks too early, and it's unfair to blame the genetics when I was trying for only my 2nd successful grow. They looked healthy but under-developed, smallish and I stunted them by flipping to flower too soon after topping them.
Where's the dry weight? So confusing! So I ended up with about 4 oz off of these 2 Ripper plants.
Yeah, yield may not be a priority but I guess I should be happy I don't have to store anymore of it I guess.
Sorry for no photos but I'm done with this grow. Seriously disappointed in 4 months turning out like this. GENETICS ARE KEY! My first/only big harvest last year (Mamiko Chem Cookies) I pulled 17 oz off of 3 plants and the THC content was upper 20's. Good luck out there! NO MIDS!

I'm done with this grow. 4 months for nearly nothing. GENETICS ARE KEY! My first/only big harvest last year (Mamiko Chem Cookies) I pulled 17 oz off of 3 plants and the THC content was upper 20's. Good luck out there! NO MIDS!
@Skynet, I'm always a little bit paranoid but that adds to the fun! 🤣🤣🤣stuffs gotta feel a bit naughty or it's not worth doin! 🤣🤣🤣 keep it easy brother 👊
Looking beautiful my friend, seriously awesome job everything looks amazing,I'm a purple lover for real so double amazing there lol, best wishes may mother nature bless us both
from my experience many of the plants that have the potential to deliver very high grade need to be grown perfectly to really get the quality out of them. Its easier to get good results with plants that are easier to grow. Don't sleep on ripper seeds, there are many high quality phenos to be found in their collection, but maybe you want to first go for seeds from humbolt seed company (check out their blueberry cupcake, or jelly donutz) to have a high chance of a very successful grow with nothing lacking in the quality department.
