Day 17 from seed. Gave a very light feeding of just 50 ppm (130 total) ,noticeable signs of burn on a couple, just a bit too early on the nutes I guess.I am feeding equal parts M/G and 1/4 Bloom, and then vice versa for flower,I hope that's correct.

I will be using advanced nutrients jungle juice M/G/B line in Pro Mix BX. Isil it about time to start adding nutrients? What is a good starting number for the beginning? I was going to start at 200 ppm with increments of 50 every week but I'm no expert :) THANKS!

nah man wait at least till you re-pot, you risk over doing it, and you can see the beging of some lock out happening... start at the bottom of week three after you repot... just my two cents ! Good luck with the grow !

My fan leaves seem very large which,to me, translates to a healthy plant. Should I be pulling these large healthy leaves or is it a bit early to defoilate?

Hello @Ak_keith ! The point of defoliation is to increase the light penetration and air circulation. Since at this point your canopy doesn't seem to thick i wouldn't do anything but in about a week you will definitely need to cut some leaves. More leaves certainly doesn't mean more photosynthesis especially when these leaves are at the bottom of the plant and don't receive any light. Except of that there are other factors that limits the photosynthesis rates like the co2 quantity the light intensity and the limits that rubisco enzyme sets ( an enzyme responsible for co2 fixation to energy ). Happy growing ! 👊

What is your go to response when you see yellow tips on leaves 3 weeks into flower? I know the idea is to "dial back" the nutes but what exactly does that mean? Just water fresh water a couple of times in a row? Or drop PPM buy like 100 for a watering session?

in soil the best is following the water water feed water water feed schedule, especially making sure the wet dry cycle is strictly adhered to. If you're feeding more regularly than that dialing it back may mean reverting to this schedule then. By the time you catch the symptoms the problem has been going on for a while already, so keep that in mind! Hope this helps AKKeith ! 🚀

I'd recommend starting at 1/2 the recommended strength and I would not start feeding at all until week 3 or 4. There should be more than enough nutrients in your soil for the first 3-4 weeks. Good luck! 👍

It’s not too early to defoliate. She’s a nice looking little bush! Go ahead and defoliate now. Remove the large fan leaves blocking light getting to the bud sites. Good luck!

Love me some atomic bomb 💣. I am a huge fan of 💣 Seeds. Every strain I have grown from them has been a winner. I am currently growing a hodgepodge of strains in my garden, but I have 1 Gorilla 🦍 Bomb 💣 which shares some genetics as the Atomic that you are growing. They both have been crossed with THC Bomb. I have a 10 pack of Atomic femanized seeds in the on deck circle ⭕️ waiting for a free slot in the garden so I will be sure to keep an eye 👁️ on your grow to see how they fill out. I try to post bi-weekly videos of my garden to my YouTube Channel. Check it out if you have a chance: www.youtube.com/channel/UCJiLvEn7XRcH_o3sHd8qbyQ “Keep It Safe, Keep It Green, & Smoke 💨 It Up!!!”

@Ak_keith, if you are looking to cross breed your plants then hang onto one of those male plants. I only grow femanized seeds, or clones from my own garden, so o don’t have much experience dealing with male plants. The nice part about pheno hunting is that once you find a pheno that you love, you can then tailor your garden to that pheno through cloning. “It’s Science “

@MagicMikesMeds,YES YOU NAILED IT!!! There is something about the strain that has an amazing unique smell! Unfortunately my seeds were not as lucky as I got some male flowers about week 4 :( but I guess it happens :(. I am getting to truly experience phenotypes and the differences they show which is nice and educational!

Hi @Ak_keith! I would wait for the plant to enter flowering stage before doing a serious defoliation. All you want in veg stage is node development and new side-growth, leaves are the main way to get the energy for these tasks. Once you trigger flowering by changing your light schedule, you can defoliate in order for the bud-sites to get the maximum light. If you really want to defoliate now, do it slightly and remove only 2~3 main fan leaves at a time. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

@Stick, thank you this does make sense! Ive noticed that it's pretty easy to overthink what's going on. Sometimes just taking a step back and reading a good, helpful comment just puts it all in perspective, seriously thank you!

Lovely looking ladies. I wouldn't recommend cal-mag at this stage. Too much nitrogen. Use mag-sulphur mid flower onwards instead. Keep up the good work, bro. Very nice frost, btw. Don't cut before you check the trichomes, though. And let the calyx's swell too, thats where the gold is ;-)

@Mr_Positivo, ok yes I was thinking too much nitrogen so thank you for confirming that (dark green leaves curling tips right?) I had spotted about 6-10 pods of male flowers that started opening on week 4. I removed them and vigoursly scanned all 4 plants. I have not seen any other signs, does this just mean the seeds are on the inside of the buds? I really do appreciate you pros taking the time to help us newbies out. It really is appreciated!!

I guess I’m just not that good a grower, and I can’t see these pics well on a phone without saving the screenshot and zooming in, and I’m not doing that, but all I see are very healthy plants. I love this phase! They’re like 8-10 year old kids. Brimming with health and growing like weeds, old enough to be fun to enjoy their company, but haven’t yet become temperamental, sullen, snarky, disappointing teenagers. Enjoy!

@growdoctordc, haha thank you, we are all learning here so don't beat yourself up too much,we all had to start somewhere, I'm still learning myself :). The comparison to an 8-10 year old is spot on!! So true lol!!!
