Hello. This is the start of, 11 Roses, by Delicious Seeds for the greenhouse.
Started 12 feminized seeds and I got 7 seedlings, but one came up with no first leaves.
This has happened to me before and I have wondered if there is something that nibbles on them when the light is off!?!
I like to soak my seeds in some filtered water and I add some cinnamon to help control the fungus that attracts new seedlings roots.
I also add a bit of cloning gel to the water to help with waking up the little seedling by giving what they need to get the roots out.
I also started some regular seeds from Rare Dankness, Buford OG seeds, but they are taking their time coming out of the soil. I may only have a couple come up.
So I might have to start some other regular seeds so I can make crosses this summer. So, stay tuned. Plans might change a bit.
But I got my main plants going for the greenhouse. I got 6 spots and 7 seedlings to chose from.
The strain description said they are mold and pest resistant. That's very helpful in the green house.
So here we go.
Chuck
Hello. This is the first week of veg.
Things are going well in here. I see the first leaves are stretched out all the way now, and they are working on the second set. And I can just see the 3rd set coming out.
Gave them their first food earlier this week. Want to keep them green. Food with every third watering, but it takes awhile for them to dry out first when they are this small.
I think I'll start some seeds I got in the fall. I got 10 regular seeds of Gorilla Face from Advanced seeds. I'll use these to make seeds this summer in the greenhouse.
Want some free seeds? Ask me in the fall and I'll send you some. This should be a good cross. Both are Indica's. Both taste fruity. Both are mold and pest resistant too.
Ok. More next week.
Chuck
Hello This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week 2 of veg.
Everything is going well in here. The plants are doing good.
There is some marbling on some of the leaves, nothing to worry about, sometimes they do that.
One plant is bigger than the rest. It will get topped soon to slow it down a bit.
The other seedlings look similar in structure. This a good sign of a stable strain. We shall see as these plants grow.
Still no first leaves for one plant. It will just run out of energy and die, -sorry little plant! 😞
Started a strain to cross with these girls. It's Gorilla Face by Advanced Seeds. The males will be 90% indica and will bring a chocolate taste to cross with this strains sweet fruit and damp earth tones.
The seed description for Gorilla Face said up to 30% THC. Oh Boy! I like strong.
Hope it's good.
Be Great. Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of veg.
Things are going well in here. The plants are healthy and looking good.
I've got 6 spots in the greenhouse and 7 plants. I'll pick the best ones with the rub test when they are older.
I want to cross these females with the strain called Gorilla Face by Advanced seeds. I have started 9 seedlings and I will pick the best male to cross with these females.
In my green house I have a 10 x 10 tent and I can put the plants into flowering when "I" want. I hope to veg until the end of May and harvest around Aug 1st.
My thought is, I want the brightest and most intense sunlight to flower with and that isn't in the fall. When I grow inside I turn up the LED's at the beginning of flowering and have the lights on strong all through the flowering phase. But outside we have to flower under less intense fall light. Also the white powdery mildew starts up around the beginning of July around here. These plants are mold and pest resistant so I should be OK.
I'd be happy to send you some free seeds in September if you want some. Just ask then.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of veg.
There are 7 plants. 5 look similar. 2 are a bit taller.
I'm hoping to get these plants out in the greenhouse in the next couple of weeks.
I don't have to sex them this year, being fem seeds.
I'll start giving a bit stronger nutrient with the next watering.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5 of veg.
The girls are getting bigger and doing well. I topped 3 of the tallest plants, you can see in the pictures.
The plants are getting food every 2nd watering and I through some Miracle Grow shake and feed pellets on the soil to keep them feed.
Things are warming up in the green house. I hope to get them out there soon. It's the nights that are just a bit too cold still.
See ya next time.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of veg.
We made it out to the greenhouse. The long range forecast is for a long cold spring. 😏 I'm glad I got a greenhouse.
I had to pick 6 out of 7 plant to put in here. I left the smallest one to flower later, elsewhere.
I have started Gorilla Face regular seeds to cross with the 11 Roses, and I will flower this last plant with those females, inside, later.
I'll add the nutrients I use, next week. I should be able to water a couple of times before I need nutrients.
Each pot has the same amount of medium in it. Each pot has 1.5 gallons of compost mixed in to the bottom 1/2 of the pot. the top half is straight soil.
I buried the plant as deep as possible, up to the first leaves. The plants look good, not much transplant shock. The leaves are all standing up, looking good.
My hope is to turn over to flowering near June 1st.
OK. Have Fun.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7 of veg.
What a weird weather week. I had 2 days that it was so cloudy that I didn't open the tent and just kept the lights on and 2 days of opening the tent for 5 hours because it got sunny in the afternoon and 2 days of 33*c through the day. It's sunny and hot out there today and I got all the fans going and vents open. 😅
Wow, the plants have doubled in size since last week. I can see the difference in the 3 plants that were topped a week before the others.
I'm just watering with rainwater for the first couple of weeks. The soil package said, good for 3 watering's before I will need nutrients.
I think spring is here. The apple and pear trees are starting to bloom.
I had my eyes examined today. I have floaties in the left eye and have read online that it could mean something is wrong in there, like a tear.
But good news, the doctor said it looked good in there. Nothing to be worried about. The doc did say that my lenses looked really good, no sign of cataracts and asked if I wore sunglasses.
I have worn Blue Blocker Sunglasses since the 80's and the doctor said that it was the UV light that turn the lenses white with cataracts.
So my advice is to protect your lenses by wearing something that blocks the UV sunlight.
Keep Growing Straight.
Chuck
Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of veg.
Wow. Again, these plants have doubled in size in a week. I think they like the compost I mixed with the soil in the bottom 1/2 of the pot.
Some of the plants are really growing now. On a couple of plants there is 4 or 5 inches between leaf sets. There's a couple of short and dense plants too.
The smell I get from the rub test is like a strong Afghani or Hindu Kush, mostly hashy with some earthy undertones, some floral tones too, sweet.
I watered each plant with 1 and 1/2 gallons of rain water this morning with some water appearing in the tray.
Have Fun.
Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 8 and the beginning of week 9 of veg.
Sure are growing now. The roots are liking the compost they found.
Got my hydro system up and running in here. Last year I had some small tips on the hydro leads and was giving 15 minutes of solution per day. I've got different, new tips this year, a lot more open. The landscapers call them 1/2 circle. I had been watering with rainwater and having the runoff run back to the reservoir. Good thing I checked it, it was; 7 ph and 1800 ppm. Adjusted it to 6.2 ph and 1200 ppm.
I can give the same amount of solution in 2 minutes now, so my 15 gallon reservoir will last a week. It's not quite enough liquid to have them fully watered, so I feel with my fingers and when dry enough I give a gallon or two of water until it runs out and back into the reservoir (the green hose is tray drainage back to the reservoir). The plants loved it last year and I'll do the same thing.
Got the plants spreading out now. I can see the mainlines spreading under the rungs of the table.
I got some bamboo from Canadian Tire and filled the space between tables. I might get some more and make something to hold the budding branches up (like the soccer net but with bamboo).
Made the first video of this year. You can get a feeling of how it is in here. 😃 I'll try to make one a week to keep you updated.
I think that's everything for this week. I added the nutrients I use in the hydro, if you want to see..
Have Fun.
Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 9 and the beginning of week 10 of veg.
The week started out with normal weather, then the high pressure ridge came in and it was over 35* c in here for the last 2 days.
But the plants look good. I put up the shade cloth I had, when I saw that the temps were going up. I'll roll the shade cloth back when the temps cool some. I live near the ocean which moderates our temp fairly well. The summer time ocean temp is around 55* f and 45* f in the winter. (Funny - being old school, I still use old imperial temps)😄
The plants have been getting some food each day with my reservoir pump being hooked up to a timer. I also gave about 1 gallon of rain water to each plant yesterday.
They are filling out their space nicely. I have to get in there in a couple of days and put all the branch tips down under the table again.
With about 2 weeks before flipping to flowering things are going great.
Be Great.
Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 10 and the beginning of week 11 of flowering.
The first pictures are of the tent opening in the morning. And I put it back each night. That allows me to go into flowering when I want.
One more week of veg to go, before I turn it over to flowering. And it will be around August 7th to August 15 when I'll harvest.
The plants have filled out their space now. and most are growing over the edges of the table.
I plan to get growing tips going up this week. with a big prune/trim about 3 days before I switch.
I like to let the plants heal for 3 or 4 days before going into flowering. To get over the shock I caused by trimming them up.
Then they can go into flowering easier and turn over faster if they don't have to heal first.
The smell when I open the tent is like slightly metallic, a bit sour ish, like some good Afghani hashish smells.
Each plant got an extra minute of nutrient solution in the morning this week with no leaking out the bottom this week.
And they will get another minute in a couple of weeks. That will make 4 minutes a day of food, and I feel with my fingers, when they feel dry around the edges they get a gallon or 2 of rainwater.
They look healthy. No signs of bugs or pest. When I was opening the tent a few days ago I saw a ladybug, just sitting under one of the lights, getting warm 😉 and helping.
My friend Jerry, who you've seen in other diaries, gave me lots of bamboo, some 7 feet long, to make a sort of netting to hold up the buds rather than tie them to the tent pole roof.
OK. Stuff to do. See ya later.
Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of the veg cycle and the first week in flowering. It's May 30/2023.
The Breeders Description said 8 to 9 weeks of flowering. That should take us to August 1st. That would be the start of week 9 and Aug. 8th would be the end of week 9, so I plan to harvest around then.
The greenhouse looks a little different than last time. My buddy Jerry brought me some bamboo (he went out of his way on his birthday to do that for me) What A nice guy he is.
I used 18 of the longest pieces to make a Scrog type of net to hold up the big buds I hope to get. First year to try this bamboo thing. Hope it goes good. I might have to tie it up tighter.
I did a good trim/prune, under the table mostly, but did remove some big fanleaves up top that blocked the lower branch ends/tips from seeing good light.
I think it's also good to remove the big fanleaves that don't get much light any more. It promotes more growth up top.
While trimming I left the branches that were growing straight down. I'll trim them off today for cuttings, for clones I'll make later.
I mix 10ml of liquid seaweed with 1 gallon of water to put the cuttings in. I'll make 6 cups for 6 different plants numbered 1 to 6 so I don't mix them up. 😁
I'll pack up the lights later. I'll mix some transition to flowering, nutrient solution tomorrow. That means a little less N and a little more P and K.
Thanks for looking in.
Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 1 and the beginning of week 2 of flowering.
Everything is going well this week. The plants drank up all the nutrient solution and had about 3 1/2 gallons of rainwater each and I see the soil is still a bit damp today.
As I walked around the tent I had just closed for the night, I saw where some of the stitching had stretched a bit and was letting in a bit of light. Got the duct tape out and fixed it so it's very dark in here now.
This is the 4th season for the tent and it's starting to show. I've had to sew up some seams where the zipper is tight and broke the stitching.
But I think It's worth it. I'm finished before the powdery mildew starts here and I get to flower under the full strong sun, rather than in the weaker fall sun.
I traded 2 clones of of mine for, I think he said Double Chocolate Chem. I'll have to look on seedfinder.eu and see what I got. He said it was indoor stuff (I think he meant it gets powdery mildew outdoors) and it's really good!!!
I'll do a final trim/prune at 2 1/2 to 3 weeks into flowering. So nothing planed for this week except for lowering the bamboo cage/net so it will hold more buds up.
Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 2 and the beginning of week 3 of flowering.
These girls sure stretched this week. Wow. I see 1 top about 10 inches from the top of the tent. That one branch might get super cropped if it keeps going up.
Near the end of this week I want to get in here and do a final trim/prune. Paying attention to fan leaves that don't get enough light on the bottom and fan leaves that block light on the top.
If you have a big plant try to leave 4 to 8 fanleaves at the end of each branch, with 8 on the lower branches and 4 on the smaller upper branches.
I will also have a good look at the small branches to see if they are sucker branches or if they will put out a small bud.
I know that I will put the plant into shock for a few days with the trim/pruning, but when the plant heals and starts to grow again it will go right into resin production, full speed.
I will, generally not touch the plants till the end after that. I might take a few fanleaves off that block the light and I'll take off any yellow or dyeing leaves from the bottom too.
Came into the tent a couple of days ago to water the plants and saw that the fan blade had disintegrated in it's cage, but it spewed out small bits of plastic all over the plants closest to them.
About 5 weeks ago my other fan stopped working in the same place. Not enough lube I'm guessing. so I went and got that blade and it fit. So I didn't have to buy a new fan. 😃
I've got to get in here and vacuum that up before the resin starts flowing. Don't need small bits of plastic in my resin. 😝 See which fan blow up in the video.
Oh yes, I also had to replace a automatic opening roof vent this week. It hardly opened a inch on a hot day. I bought one off Amazon, it was here in 3 days, and it works great.
Ok. See ya next week. Be Cool!
Chuck.

Hello. This week is start of my 4th year on this site!! 😃✨🎈🎁 , also this is the end of week 3 and the beginning of week 4 of flowering.
Things are going well in here. I got in here on the weekend and did a big trim/prune and sucker branch removal too.
In some of the pictures you can sort of see through the plants to the floor or wall. That is just right. Not too much taken off, but the light can still pernitrate to the lower buds.
The plants are in shock because I took a lot of leaves off and will need a few days to get over that and start to grow again.
At this point, I can tell when they are over the shock, by how soon the resin starts to appear. They should go right into resin production after coming out of shock.
I don't know if I'll make seeds this summer with the Gorilla Face males. None of these males have much of a smell with the rub test. They all have 4 inches or more of distance between the leaf sets since being repotted. Even the one I thought was going to remain short, has 4 to 5 inches between leaf sets. I might put pollen on the 2 shortest females just to see what I get. It's hard to find a good male. I'll wait another week before deciding.
I put a sercuirty door/gate on my greenhouse door. I've had an open door in the summer for years and have always been worried about getting ripped off by someone walking in from the street. Now I can leave the door open and not have to worry so much. This way they have to break something to get in now, better chance of catching them.
Ok. See ya next week.
Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 4 and the beginning of week 5 of flowering.
Things are going good this week. I see a few yellow leaves on the bottom which is normal.
It smells like sweet candied mango in here. Wonderful or should I say Delicious!!
I am seeing some small, Thrips signs, on a few leaves, but nothing to worry about.
They are over their trimming/pruning up stress now and are bulking up. I see the resin is in full production now.
They are getting small amounts of food each day from the hydroponic system. And I hand watered with rain water yesterday. Each plant got 2 gallons.
The reservoir lasts 6 days and 7 if I add the dehumidifier water to the reservoir daily. Easy Peasy.
I read this article on hypochlorous acid and wanted to make my own rather than buy stuff to kill pests and handle fungus. I now have something I can whip up in 1 hour that can handle most problems I deal with inside and outside. The article said to use it at 1/2 strength inside and I would put plastic over the pots to keep it off the roots. Sounds good. We'll see.
Be Great. Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 5 and the beginning of week 6 of flowering.
It's like walking into the mango store and smelling all the ripe mangos, Wonderful.
Things are going good in here. I getting some lower yellowing leaves, now that the plants are putting everything into flowering.
I'll mix in a bit more nitrogen in tomorrows changing of the nutrient solution to slow the yellowing down some.
Each pot gets 2 gallons of rainwater when they are dry enough.
One more strange thing happened this week, my unknown 40 year old daughter made contact with me last week. I guess she's had some awful relationships with men and doesn't like them. It came across. There's been stress here this week, but not with cannabis. 😒 I need the cannabis to de-stress. Wow. Never saw that coming.
OK. Be great.

Hello. This is the end of week 6 and the beginning of week 7 of flowering.
Man! I got spider mites. I haven't had to deal with them in years. It's a good thing I have a bit of insight and bought a Hypochlorous Acid maker.
I was watering the plants 6 days ago and saw some minor spider mite damage. I got my device up and going with 1 gallon of water and 2 tsp of pure salt and 3 tsp of white vinegar.
It ran for 45 minutes and it was done. The device turned that into Hypochlorous Acid. I posted the article I read, in last weeks pictures or the week before that.
So far I've sprayed twice and I don't see any more leaf damage. I've still got 3 or 4 weeks more till harvest so I'll keep watch and spray some more.
The acid is supposed to knock out Powder Mildew and aphides too. I'll have to try it on my zucchini plants that seem to get PM each year.
I'm getting some yellowing leaves on the bottom too, which is normal.
We've had no rain for 3 months now and I'm out of rainwater so I'm using dechlorinated water. I fill up 5 gallon drinking water jugs and let them sit around for a few days to dissipate the chlorine.
Have some summer fun.
Chuck.

Hello. This is the end of week 7 and the beginning of week 8 of flowering.
I'm a bit bummed about this grow. I've read that you just need to force a plant to flower, that's 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark for the first 3 weeks (I had a tent inside the greenhouse) and then put it outside and it will continue to flower. I thought that was amazing, so I wanted to give it a try. Well, here we are at the end of the 7th week and it looks like the plants are going back into veg. Last year I didn't do up the tent for the last 2 weeks and everything was fine so I thought I would give this keeping it open after the 3rd week a try. Now I know. I can always turn it into hash, maybe dry ice hash.
Here's another reason I'm bummed about this grow. I've got spider mites. I'm doing my best to knock them down with my hypochlorous acid. I'm spraying twice a week, but had some yellowish looking leaves, I reread the article (I put up a pic of it a few of weeks ago) and found I had to rinse the indoor plants. So after I sprayed the 1/2 strength acid I waited 10 minutes and rinsed with water. Today I can see more mites than when I sprayed before. So next time I'll wait till the 1/2 acid mix is dry before I rinse the leaves and see if that knocks them down more.
If you don't try new things you don't learn. That's what this grow is about, to see if the plants can still keep flowering at my latitude and now that I have mites, to see if the hypochlorous acid will work without killing the plants. Yes, I'm 60 something and still learning. 😃
Be Great.
Chuck.
Hello. This is the end of this grow. I start harvesting tomorrow.
I'm disappointed with this grow and it's 1/2 my own fault.
I've read that I could start my plants into flowering (12 and 12) for 3 weeks and then you could put them outside and they will continue to flower.
I wanted to give it a try. Should have tried it on one or two plants to see but I have read it a number of times and sort of believed it to be true.
Now my plant have gone back into veg and are not producing resin anymore. I now know not to do that again. Disappointed.
The other 1/2 is, Spider Mite's have found the plants.
I found on line, a electricidal device that makes electricized hypochlorous acid and have been knocking them down twice a week.
It works pretty good but I can't get under every leaf so they come out again when it's safe. I don't know how it will affect the THC in the resin, I'll find out more with my first toke of scissor hash.
So this years grow has had a big learning curve. And I guess I'll be making hash with these plants. I took clones and will regrow Plant #4. It was least effected by the light shift.
Have to say, Sorry, I'll have no free seeds this year, thing just didn't work out.
Best Wishes. Chuck.
Hello. This is the harvest comment for 11 Roses by Delicious Seeds.
Wow This strain turned out better than I thought it would with my light mistake and the spider mites.
I decided to harvest a little early because of the spider mites. I was able to get 2 good flushes in before I harvested.
The hypochlorous acid knocked the spider mites back enough and it didn't ruin the crop. I was wondering if it would effect the resin crystals. But it Tastes good and gets my High.
When I grew with HID bulbs, sometimes the top buds would get to close to the lights and get too hot and would send out some veg looking leaves from the very top buds.
When I was harvesting, this is what the buds look like. The rest of the buds down the branch were fine, it was only the very top of the top buds that showed that veg new leaf growth.
So next year I'll close up the tent at night for 3 or 4 more weeks before I try to leave it open to the end of the harvest.
I live near the Canada - USA border, It's the 49th latitude. I looked at the tv on June 22, the summer solstice, to find the Sun rise and set times were close to 17 hours of light.
I remember talking to a couple from LA and they were amazed that it stayed light so late around here. They said its usually dark by 8 pm where they live. And in the north they get 24 hours of sun on that date. So next year I'll close the tent till July 15th or so and then try it again.
The hypochlorous acid is also knocking out the white powder mildew on my zucchini plants in the garden too! I think it's a keeper. Aphids hate it too!
The buds got too dry drying in the hot greenhouse. The outside leaves on the buds were getting crumbly. So I found 2 large Rubber Maid containers in the shed and while the buds were still in bags I took a spray bottle with water and sprayed both sides of the bag lightly and put the bags in the containers. In 24 hours the buds had rehydrated enough water to not be crumbly and it smoked and tasted fine.

When I was harvesting I didn't find any male flowers of bananas. This is a stable strain, if that's what your looking for.
Thanks for looking in.
