Started them yesterday in a cup of water to soften, let sit about 24 hours, then today transferred to the ole paper towel and sandwich bag. Tucked it away, will check on it tomorrow. Meanwhile got my 3 - 3ga fabric bags filled with fresh coco and perlite and put them in with my peppers which are currently occupying my tent. They’re only a few inches tall so no worries.
Week went well, humidity hard to keep high even with a small humidifier on. I know as they get bigger this will get easier. For water so far I’ve only gone through 1.5 ga since germination but they’ve only been in the tent a week or so. 1tsp each CAL-MAG, Grow, Bloom, Micro.
I don’t claim to know what I’m doing but I’m great with other plants and I did lots of homework and cross referenced most of what I read. They look great so far.
Great week, nothing too exciting other than watching the ladies take off. Temps were easy to maintain, closer to probably 73 average this week during the day, humidity averages closer to 48 this week. They are very stiff and bush-like, I was worried about light height but they definitely aren’t leggy.
Another strong week. I’m really confused why 3 seeds from the same pack grown under the same conditions are so different. Molly just won’t stop getting taller and Marissa has a main stalk almost as big around as my thumb but remains very squat and wide. Meridith remains in the middle. I rotate them under the light, change their positions under the light, and yet here we are. It was very easy to maintain 76 degrees and 43-51% humidity even with the humidifier on low. Continuing with nightly mistings after lights out. Watering is about 1/4-1/3ga per plant per day this past week. Lightly yellow tips a couple of days but color is great overall. Realizing my 20x36 is probably only good for 3-4 plants at a time.
Great week again, not sure what’s up with Molly but she is definitely flowering and had a heck of a growth spurt- 17” this week while Meredith and Marissa showed “expected” growth. Since this is my first grow I have done no HST or LST, although I did prune out some of the lower leaves to improve airflow at the base. Finally added a circulation fan a little too late but should be okay. Tried putting the humidifier in the tent, ended up removing it from the equation completely as I’m not over 50% without it. Water usage was only up a little this week.
1 Strain, same breeder, same tent and conditions but 3 different agendas. Molly is just over 42”, Meredith is 30” and Marissa only 16”. I think Molly’s stretch is over and the other 2 have a ways to go. This week I defoliated all 3 again to open up the bases and thin the canopies a little. I’m no expert but I’m learning and the ladies are looking great. Added some more coco to make up for the sinking and while I’ve been trying to keep this as simple as possible just using Advanced Nutrients and CalMag, after doing lots of reading I ordered some Big Bud for Coco and will be starting that when it arrives. Haven’t run the humidifier this week at all or the dehumidifier. Just letting it stay 45-55 on its own. Figured out how to gain almost 6” in the tent without sacrificing ventilation so got Molly back under the light fully, then she grew another 6” out of spite…lol. Great week! I love opening the tent and having the humidity and smell hit me in the face.
Things went wrong towards the end of the week, I’ll be honest everything had been going so well that I hadn’t even checked my pH this whole time. Hopefully I can correct it in time. Adding the Big Bud made matters worse as it increased the calcium. I will say it’s scary seeing my girls sick. For now I got a pH tester and found my soil was at 7.4 but my nutrient solution was 8.0. I’m flushing with water/lemon juice @ 6.0 for a couple of days and ordered some pH Down. I’ve trimmed some of the worst leaves and hoping for the best. Worst case scenario a small early harvest and valuable lesson learned. Plan to fix pH and reduce all nutes by 33% in case it’s also burn. Also reducing nutes for future grows.
