So had to take the plants down earlier than hoped as both plants had the brown disease spreading. Nice smoke with it being harvested early, and nice fat colas. Happy with the first grow!

Why are do my leaves seem to twist towards the end? this seems to mainly happen on the older leafs. Is this a serious problem?

Hi @Chewyyyy! Over-watering combined with heat usually make leaves look like this. Roots need to be on a wet/dry cycle to properly develop and spread for water. Too much water make the roots/plant suffocate. Now as a solution, let the soil dry (a slight continuous breeze onto the container will help), once it's fully dry then water with 15-20% of the container's capacity, and she should quickly recover. Never water with more than 25% of the container's capacity, or you'll risk an overwatering scenario again. And obviously decreasing your daily temperature will also help but it's not always possible. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

Hi Guys, Can I defoliate being so far into the flowering stage? I would like to expose more bud sites but don't want to over-stress the plant! Thanks :)

Hello ! Not really a good idea , maybe later in flowering when the plants will focus on bud fattening but at that stage they needs foliage to thrive , maybe you can try to knit your leaves together to give the bud more light exposure or remove only the leaves that are blocking light to a bud. I hope it will help you 😁👍

Okay thats interesting, an excess in mg can make the soil crusty and can restrain oxygen level,, the opposite goes for calcium it can make your soil too loose. If the flush has made any difference I would suggest doing more of that. Hope it gets better.

@GreenMunchkin, Yeah I flushed fully last night so hopefully will see the results in the next few days. Thanks for the advice man :)

You can buy these support beams that go across the tent do negative pressure won't lose you space. Or what I do is use my watering can to keep one side from pulling in too much.

Chewyyyycommented6 years ago
@SlimJamie, thanks man. I am going to see if I have got some poles which I can make-shift into the beams.

Your buds look amazing my friend and I believe congratulations are in order. You put in the work and time over the last few months and it has given you some beautiful results. I wish you all the best in your next grow and I'm so happy for you that this grow has turned out as beautiful as it has. Cheers my friend and happy smoking!

Hey @Chewyyyy! I usually avoid any kind of pruning/defoliation after the 2nd week of flowering, because I want my plants to drive their energy into bud fattening and resin production, rather than recovery. But this isn't 100% true, sometimes it's better to defoliate if the leaf is really creating shade onto some potential big bud. To summup, do it intelligently and slightly, and you should see great results! Happy growing 👊

If you have an TDS or EC meter check what the value of your solution is before going in and whatever the value is of your run off. if the value barely change or is higher in the run off you might have some salt build up or nutrient lockout. Although it doesn't seem you over fed them and biobizz is organic which should limit that.. Trying to think of all posibilities.. If that is the case flush your medium thoroughly, throw away the runoff and keep flushing, measure again until you reach a lower ppm or EC. If you don't have such a meter, you can still give it a go as a last resort. Hope it helps

Nice grow dude ! Shame with those leaves... But the other are look splendid. What is your soil like, if you feel its consistency ? is it crusty on top ? very loose ? Has the cal-mag not made a difference ?
Chewyyyy
Chewyyyycommented6 years ago
@GreenMunchkin, Thanks, yeah pretty gutted about the younger girl. No I would say the opposite, the soil is compacted which i tried to remediate by flushing fully through the soil. I have not noticed a difference with the calmag, however there doesn't seem to be as many spotted leaves so i guess that is a positive! I try to leave the plants for 3 days before watering again, but i do think the younger plant has a lot more water held in the soil as it is considerably heaver than the other pot.
