After germinating for 30 hours, 5 seeds from each strain germinated and grew tails. 100% Success! 4 from each strain were put in starter pots to sprout. Now we wait!
A small humidifier will run for the first 10 days or so. The lights are on an 18/6 schedule.
Greetings fellow growers!
Overnight the last of the germinated beans shed its helmet. 16 of the 16 that were put in the starter pots sprouted. Overall the timing was about average. As usual with this many there were a couple that were just faster to pop up. When they are this young a day or two really shows. 1 of the Tropicana Banana only had 1 cotyledon and the first single bladed leafs look a little rough coming in. It shouldn’t really make any difference.
They have today to straighten up. Tomorrow, Friday the 10th will be Day 1.
Let’s grow!
Its Grow Day 10! There has been considerable growth over the last 5 days. It’s getting crowded on the grow tray. Time to make some room, soon they will need to be uppotted and put under the main light. This round the best 2 from each strain, for 8 total will be grown out in 12 liter grow bags.
This morning my cat snuck into the tent and got spooked. He knocked over a couple of pots and came out with the yellow sticky stuck to him. This afternoon everything had recovered. No real damage done, it could have been worse.
Thanks for checking in.
Yesterday the soil was mixed. Normally I use 2 brands of generic, premixed bagged garden soil. 1 specifies its use is for raised garden beds and the other is marketed as good for growing herbs. These are mixed together equally. Pearlite, worm castings and rock dust are also added. Personally I don’t buy specialty cannabis soils.
The best 8 were uppotted to the 10 liter/ 3 gallon grow bags.
The 100w light bars were removed and the larger Lumatek, Zeus 465W Pro was powered up. Let’s grow!
Thanks for checking in. Happy grows!
Today is day 24. Tomorrow the tent will be flipped to 12/12 for flower.
Everything has really taken off and starting growing fast after being uppotted. Getting big now! The 1 topped Tropicanna Banana had her tops tied back today.
Thanks for looking in. Happy grows!
Happy Easter!
Its day 31 and day 6 of 12/12. The tent is filling in fast. Pre-flower pistils are showing, soon flowers will start to form. As soon as they open up a bit more I will do a mild defoliation.
Amnesia Lemon, G13 Haze, Pineapple Chunk & Tropicanna Banana
Happy Humpday! Today is Day 41 and 16 of 12/12
It’s another mostly picture update, the tent is full. What a difference just a few days can make. This tent is really getting too small. It’s time to move up to a 4’x4’.
One of the Amnesia Lemons is developing a flower/bud that looks like it could be Polyploidism. We will see what happens?
Thanks for looking in. Happy grows!
Today is 4 days into adding the 2 supplemental LUMATEK, UVA/UVB, 30 watt light bars. They are running for 30 minutes a cycle now. Next week I hope to have it up to an hour per 12 hour cycle..
I am running out of usable tent headroom. Looking for a taller 4' x 4' tent. This 1m x 1m is getting tight.
Amnesia Lemon, G13 Haze, Pineapple Chunk & Tropicanna Banana
Another week is over. Today, Thursday Is day 56 and 31 of 12/12. The plants have grown tall for the 24 days of vegetation. The light height is now maxed out. I can maybe get a couple more inches if I remove the ratchets from the hangers. Hopefully it won’t be necessary. Happy grows!
Greetings, It’s already Friday again. Buds are stacking up and showing some frost. Everything is looking good with the exception of 1 Tropicanna Banana. She is looking a bit overfed with some nutrient burn on the uppermost fan leaves. It’s odd as she is the only plant showing any distress or symptoms. Some plants can be sensitive to added nutrition. I started supplementing with calmag and cut back on the nutrients. It could be a combination of a calmag deficiency and burn? It’s been a few days and it’s not getting any worse. Let’s see how she looks next week.
Thanks for looking in. Happy grows!
It’s an exciting time of the grow. It’s rewarding even while other stuff is falling apart. Buds are fattening up, colors are changing and the smell is stronger every day. Some plants should start coming out soon. Barney's say the Pineapple Chunk runs 55 to 60 days. Sunday will be 55. A G13 Haze is getting close as well. It'll be nice to get some room. Soon other plants won’t look so nice anymore. The 1 Tropicanna Banana turned early and got toasty. Her buds are hanging in there and getting fat, she isn't getting much worse. I'm looking forward to taking a break from growing inside and the summer heat.
Picture update. The G13 Haze was pulled from the tent for pictures on flower day 83, those pics have the black backgrou. Looking forward to harvest. Happy grows!
Greetings! It’s already another week plus. Today is day 77 and 72 of 12/12. Today at lights on the 2 Tropicanna Bananna were taken out for harvest later today. Four are left in the tent now, two Amnesia Lemon and two G13 Haze. I will do a harvest report on the 4 strains at the end. Its close now. Happy grows.
As always, I love growing Barney's Farm beans. The Pineapple Chunk has always been a favorite of mine. This was the first time indoors. While we didn't break any yield records. The dry weight for the 2 plants was 161g. I never weigh wet bud. Why? This was 1 of 4 strains grown in this run.
This update is a little late. The Tropicanna Banana's were chopped and hung to dry. I think the buds look good, they should cure up nicely. The two G13 Haze were also just chopped and hung, leaving just the two Amnesia Lemon's. They look good and will be chopped in the morning. As with most plants, they look a little yellow, rough and potent at the end. They were sure pretty a couple weeks ago. As soon as they are dry and jarred I will give a harvest update on each strain with pictures.
Thanks for following along. This was a fun grow.
Happy grows!
Barney's farm is always good. The Tropicanna Banana was no exception. The two plants both were very 😂high yielders with over 300 grams dry between the two. Incredible actually for such a short veg time.
The Buds from the G13 Haze are full and dense. They have a clove/spicy and fruity smell with more than a hint of kerosene. It’s quite the combination. I like it a lot. It is an upbeat, cerebral happy buzz!
I was told by a friend that I would like this strain if I ever grew it out. I really do! The lemony Sativa goodness shines through. Its a happy kind of buzz without any crash at all.
Grow it out if you get the chance. I'm glad I did.
Merci 👍🙏💨🏴☠️☮️
