Both strains look like there flowering similar to each other but the structure of looking at the Alien OG looks advanced. Once again id like a better photo but im not taking alot of photos other than these. I like the weather in September but I do need to say it does get to cold in October, its a fact that there was some sort of issue with locating people in these nicer areas as in it was an expensive thought, at the time it wasn't as populated and the cost of living wasn't as high, there wasn't any knowledge of the other climates, it was assumed that it was ok for people to do that.
If the Alien OG plant drops pollen in a week than there could possibly be 4 weeks for seeds to mature but if it doesn't than its probably to cold to go past October 19th without it possibly snowing and freezing at the latest.
Im thinking the autoflower is around 9 weeks and strains take at most 10 weeks, id say that its probably done but for photography i'll take more photos of it. It reached that height at around Day 62, they say these autoflower strains finish in 50-70 Days from seed but this one grew slowly and took quite awhile to start flowering. I started feeding it fresh water 4 weeks ago and thats when I thought it was to early to harvest.
Day 143 The Rockstar plants look like there showing some structure with a flowering time similar to the Alien OG. I did have a full size Bear run up with my back turned at about 30ft carrying someones garbage but as soon as I turned around it ran right off, so that is something that happens here that doesn't happen to other people who are located differently, ive never had a Bear attack me but ive encountered quite alot of them here as in not every year but it was twice this year and the first time it was more than one. It is kind of a safety net. It doesn't mean that a person needs fencing but it does mean you need care a little bit less. You can have Solar energy and running water and warmer weather all year round or can accept that its enough and this was all it was, you walk up to these plants on a sunny day and there more visually stimulating than a fir tree, but when you experience the spring runoff and warmer summer your thinking its better but its really only you looking at this plant.
Day 118 (September 10th) At the end of the day as the sun was leaving the plants in the shade I checked the male Alien OG plant and there were a few pollen sacks open, now pollen tends to fall right below the plant and blow away with the wind and can travel quite a distance but it doesn't necessarily reach a plant when it does that, I only have a few days that it can do that and then I have to remove the male plant because it will be to cold in October to finish the seeds outdoors without a greenhouse. Some strains do look quite similar and probably this was something that has happened before and a strain might be a similar mix as another but named differently because of it, it only takes a few pollen grains and you might find something special in your plants.
Day 119 (September 11th) I collected the pollen on my fingers from the male Alien OG and put it on the Rockstar and Alien OG phenos but only the tips of a couple branches on each of the plants, i'll be removing the male plant by September 15th, so we basically have 40 days at the most for seeds to develop as of today and any other branches pollinated would have to finish earlier but not allowing this plant to pollinate anything past the 15th. If your growing outdoors right now, there is a male plant that has a small chance of pollinating one of your plants.
Something id like to say about this container size is that the stalk size growing in the 45 gallon geopots was bigger than the 10 gallon but these plants are very tall, if you want bigger and taller plants grow in larger containers than this. Were not reaching the 8ft that you'll see on other plants. Its probably missed that I grew 6 or 7 in 45+ gallons with two months of indoor veg, id need to mix organics up or get a really large reservoir and its not really needed as in its only something to do. 4 in 45 gallons is going to use 60 gallons everyday when its hot and so thats ok but if you want the right experience of walking around them, you'd want 6 or 7 that are 7 to 8 feet or taller, beyond that is diminishing returns on the visual stimulation of looking at the plants but in my scenario I thought that 12 was probably the most I could see to work on outdoors without spending alot of time watering, these need to be watered twice per day when its warm and sunny but the Alien OG were ok with the 10 gallon size.
September 12th - Day 120 I decided to remove the male plant because if the seeds take 40 days to mature then there isn't a point to keep it growing and I do have a clone of it so im able to use it in the future and if I collected pollen farther away from these plants it could possibly reach your plants. I'll try to keep anything to do with pollen indoors, it is one of those subjects that id keep separate from other plants and it doesn't take a high wattage light to make seeds. If I did keep this plant going I could collect the pollen but I don't have a use for it right now but it is viable for years if dried and stored in a freezer. There is also alot of seeds for sale that makes it somewhat easier to buy seeds than it is to spend the money to make them and usually for people there is enough money for a 10 pack of seeds if someone hasn't grown for awhile, it might not be every year but you can make them and grow your own year after year. Im not even sure if the cold weather effects seed maturation time, the season is probably supposed to be in the 70-80 °F range for all of September which it isn't and somewhat warm for all of October and not seeing low temperatures until November possibly but thinking that the amount of geothermal required is alot, you need programs that build, im probably not past ancient times in intelligence. I think its a stem and it creates things from a source of intelligence, its not actually that smart. It could start with a small idea and build upon it, it doesn't necessarily go from 0 to aerospace, its working at a cellular level as its writing and building upon ideas, as in it didn't use me for engineering, it used a different stem.
@Todzilla,yhea you can pull the rebar with lawn staples probably I like using rock, you can hold the rebar in with a lawn staple if its not in super deep but I could probably hammer it in as deep as the container, I think that for photography purposes the rock explains the plant, its like the sands of time unfolding before you, you can't explain why something so large is so small yet so many times larger.
@blackskaarj1,I use lawn staples in rocky hard soil and it works for stabilization quite well. The staples are the lowest cost and easiest to install.
I also have used bamboo, stakes, and rebar. They all work for wind.
You just gotta get it done.
@Todzilla,no you can't use lawn staples you need to take a piece of rebar hammer it into the ground and then put a long piece in and your likely to either hit up against another rock or it'll work or not at all.
Hey, you can get a magnifying glass app for your phone that works good enough to see trichomes. No need for a loupe or physical magnifier. Can get good bud pics easily, even using an old phone.
What an nice outdoor grow so far - good job and well done 🤝 never did outdoor myself.
Happy Growing & cant wait for your upcoming weeks 🌱
Cheers, Bud Boutique 👩🌾
I did feel that not having any structures or roads in the way of the plants as they grow is better visually, the material that the plants are up against affects how you feel about them. Its better than landscaping that you would normally see, its better. I do encounter alot of wildlife though, its definitely there to see. Its my experience vs your idea of what is supposed to be enjoyable and that means I couldn't imagine it being a good idea for August and September because of the fire season but that is what im looking at.
