Sep 14: the flowering pace seems to have picked up a bit. Definitely on the sativa side of things.
Using.730 nm far red light for a few seconds at dusk as a bloom booster. Puts the plant into dark mode 2 hours faster and is like having a 26 h day. Sounds bogus but is legit.
Sep 16: flowering seems to have picked up speed a bit but she’s third slowest after Gorilla Cookies and Cheese both of which are more indica. Sativas always take longer but the sunlight is getting weak and frosts are coming. We’ll see how it finishes.
Sep 19: noticeably bigger today so that’s good.
@Northern_Ent,Good morning, Woke up this morning to -2c, frost all over everything. I forgot to bring my little mystery plant in, it was pretty much frozen so I don't know of it will survive or not 😵 . Everything in the greenhouse survived with no issues, it was +5c in the greenhouse this morning . You can still go an hour south from Dryden before you hit the border at Fort Francis, International Falls. I don't go that way very often but I do go to Dryden now and then for supplies etc., my Wife and I take a ride on the Harleys and go for a burger at the chipstand once in awhile,(great burgers and reasonably priced) it's about a 2 hour round trip from where we live.
Smok'em if you got'em!!!
@northernMike, summers here really are very good. I remember driving out to Ontario and seeing a rental truck in Dryden, near the 49th parallel, saying “we know the North” but it’s as far south as you can go in western Canada. I know winters in the shield are hardcore, it was just funny to be thinking how far south we were and then to see that. Cheers.
@Northern_Ent, I lived in Edmonton in 1986-87 when that big tornado went through, I still have the newspaper from that day packed away somewhere. I worked at an Italian restaurant called the San Remo as a dishwasher and prepper six days a week after school including Sundays. I still have a couple of cousins in Edmonton, but I haven't talked to them in over thirty years.
Later!!
Wonderful this crop Brother! I'm going to study your method in detail and try to replicate it in an outdoor pot culture. Above all I will observe how you do the watering, which has to be very frequent. I am 42 years old and I have been growing for 20 years, but although I have experience in outdoor growing in soil and also quite a lot in indoor pots, I don't have it in outdoor pots. And your results are spectacular! Amazing the size of the plants in relation to the pots. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. By the way in Argentina I haven't seen those conical supports that you are using, they look simple and effective, what do they call them over there, do they have a name?
@Danger_Mouse, thanks very much. Those were tomato cages in 2023, but last year I used Scrog net which worked even better. Check out my Blueberry Pie F1 Fast from 2024 where I used five layers of Scrog net mostly just loosely placed on the plant as needed as it grew. Very easy and works great. Makes it easy to tuck in fan leaves and expose the growth tips to direct sun. The Scrog net seems to be a secret to big buds, and so is the far red light at dusk. As for watering, yes pretty much every morning, but compost teas seem to help minimize the amount of water needed daily. I also warm the water to 26 C which helps a lot on cold mornings. Cheers and good luck.
@yan402, I’ve made pressed hash from dried flowers in years past, but this is first year using fresh frozen. Will do cold curing this time (couple months in fridge) which is apparently known as piatella hash. See my Golosa diary for previous hash making.
Hey, what you did with your plants in that machine? Seems like a way to use leaves for edibles or just oil? Would like to know the name of the process😺
@Lizard3d, hash washing in a small washing machine. You can find actual clothes washing machines, or branded ones for hash. Can likely find used as they’re not very useful for most people. Look up Frenchy Cannoli on YouTube for hashmaking dskills. Cheers.
Wow buddy!! super nice buds
What an amazing grow so far - good job and well done 🤝
Happy Growing & cant wait for your upcoming weeks 🌱
Cheers, Bud Boutique 👩🌾
@BudBoutique, thanks, eh? It’s been a longer than normal season but the last plants are coming down in the next few days.
Snow is forecast for Monday (four days from now) and that will be another season done. Drilled a couple holes with the plan to take it down in 3 days.
