Ok we have a viable seedling! You're seeing it at 10 days, everything looking healthy and happy so far. pH is great, I am not using correctives for the water and letting the microbes do their thing. After one week I've started using the custom nutrients provided by the guy who makes the living soil. So far so good
Topped above the 5th node. EEEP! Let's see how fast she recovers. I'll be staking her out in the next few days too. Everything looking brilliant, vigorous growth, nice and green looking, leaves pointing up. Including a pic of the organics I'm using for this grow. So far, happy days!
Short and stout eh? Not really, I've bent her over with tent pegs and spread her out a little after topping, so pretty much all the flower sites are catching plenty of light now after a bit of tucking. She's looking very healthy and I'm being patient for more upward stretching - raised the lights to 50cm without turning them beyond 30% for now. Still 1ml of fish juice per litre every other day. Happy missy I think!
Just trying to spread out the canopy a bit more but she's stretching upwards now. All branches at different heights, but I'm not too worried. She seems happy. Watering every two days or a bit more because I'm using less water for each drink than my last grows, to try and avoid rinsing out the living soil. Still using the fish juice each one and she's taking it fine. Will move on to adding photosynthesis bacteria once she's in flower. So far so good!
Started feeding in earnest now. I have noticed one stem is showing light green edges, so adding some calmag into the mix to see if it's a mag deficiency. The plant is way behind my previous autos at 5 weeks, but it's a strain I've never tried before and it's hot season, which might be stressing it a bit. Going to invest in a mini AC for my next grow for sure. Otherwise looking mostly healthy and drinking like a fish. Onward!
Well she's looking OK and healthy, but definitely not as big as I'd expect at this stage. I'm blaming the heat. It's over 100F most of the day and I'm not buying an airconditioner for a small scale grow. So I'm going to get her in jars when she's good and ready and pause the grow op until September. She's thirsty as all heck and eating everything I throw at her, so hopefully she's going to turn out OK, just a small yield and a good lesson in yearly cycle management. Roll on Autumn!
Trimmed some of the bulk out of the leaves and upped the bloom nutrients this week. I don't think she's going to get much taller now, but as a little cutie she is really starting to pack on bud! Very firm dense feel to them too. So we might just get away with a nice quality of bud even if the yield is low. Still way too hot to grow weed at the moment, really, so I'm grateful for whatever she manages. Happy days
Skipped a week as I was out of town and my wife was kindly taking over the feeding and watering. Bluey is fattening up but suffering a little yellowing on top leaves, so I have upped the CalMag and continued with the other FF nutes. Buds are looking good and very firm. No wilting or fading leaves, so I'm happy. Doing very well against the heat. Good girl.
Some yellowing on upper leaves this week, can't tell if it's a calcium or nitrogen deficiency or just the start of the fade. Really hard to tell with this girl, she's so short and thicc. I've kept up the CalMag just in case and added some photosynthesis bacteria into every other feed. Firming up really nicely. Can't believe we're at 10 weeks already. I'll have to get the scope out for next week's pictures. Peace!
Nearly there lads. In the harvest window now so checking daily and doing my best to keep the humidity down with fans and vents. The heat is still insane, so I'm just keeping a sharp eye out for any signs of rot. I've done two complete soil flushes and her drinking has slowed down. Lovely fade, lovely smells. Mostly cloudy trikes. Chop day approaches!
Experimental topping, first time using living soil in a fabric pot, and daytime temps of higher than 100F. I'm amazed with 65g and not a trace of rot despite massive humidity. Very pleasantly surprised she did so well. I'll be waiting for a cooler season for the next grow, but looking forward to curing and aging this one now. Happy days.
