Good progress this week, the stem is becoming woody, the leaves are expanding, and the growth is regular and compact with short internodes. I’m going to wait at least another week before transplanting it; for the coming days, I hope the roots start to peek out eagerly from the bottom of the pot, and then it will be time. For now, I have this seedling under light for 24 hours, at night in the grow tent, and the rest of the day, moving from window to window catching the spring sunshine. If the day is cloudy, like all this week, I leave them in the grow tent or not! As soon as I transplant it to the final pot, it will have a spot in a small grow tent that I will set up at that time. Fourth week from seed of this little Andalusian Gypsy sister of 3M ▼ Andalusian Gypsy, a strain worth noting! Yesterday I transplanted her into an old-school 7L pot with homemade aeration and white mineralized substrate that will help reflect sunlight and prevent substrate overheating. This pot is very special, as it is a gift from the Queen of Africa ( https://growdiaries.com/diaries/147369-grow-journal-by-defharo ), now the protector and mentor of this Andalusian Gypsy! For this and two other plants, I’ve set up my homemade grow tent, where I started these organic growing adventures three years ago! Initially, I’ve set up three diffuse light LED panels, each with 30w and different color temperatures. I will be replacing them with other lamps as the grows progress; I have a box full of lights of all kinds... let’s play!! The top panel (20x20cm) is 7700K, white light for the early stages of growth. The back side panel (55x24cm) is 4000K, slightly warmer light than the previous one, which broadens the light spectrum. The front side panel (20x20cm) has 450nm (true blue) LEDs to promote leaf and root expansion and compact the crops. The pots in this grow tent come out at 8:00 AM and start taking direct sunlight until 2:00 PM, then they wait for the sun at the windows until 4:30 PM, after that, they get direct sunset sunlight until 8:00 PM, then the plants sleep until 11:00 PM, and at that hour, I turn on the grow tent... if the days are very cloudy, I leave the plants in the grow tent from 11:00 PM until 5:00 PM... all for the cause. Fifth week from seed of this sister gypsy from 3M ▼ Andalusian Gypsy, a strain worth considering! Two days ago, I made an apex cut to slow down vertical growth and boost lateral growth. The plant is showing a lot of vigor these days, the pot establishment is secured! This week, a deep watering with bio-stimulants based on algae, guanos, and coco... immediate positive response! Four days ago, I added a mix of dry amendments cooked with Mountain Microorganisms (MM) to the top of the substrate, then covered it all with chopped green leaves from defoliations. This material has several functions, the main one being to serve as food for the microbiology, another is to retain moisture on the top of the substrate and thus boost the growth of adventitious roots from the very first centimeter of substrate... let’s play! The last few days have been cloudy, so I'm delaying the plants' exit to the outside from the tent; instead, I've made changes to the lights... • LIGHTS... ACTION ☀️💡 Yesterday, I made significant changes to the lights in this grow tent, replacing the top panel of 7700K and 30w consumption with my old MH Eco 60 Full Spectrum lamp and 100w consumption. Also, to compensate for the increased electrical consumption from the canopy lamp replacement, I removed the side panel of 450nm and 30w consumption; additionally, the new lamp already incorporates LEDs with that blue spectrum. I’m keeping the background side panel (55x24cm/33w) with 4000K, which I will replace as flowering progresses with another of the same size but with a color spectrum of 2800K. Now I have a consumption of 133w for the 3 plants; depending on the evolution of the crops, I will add one or two side panels of 3000K +660nm... maximum brightness to get the best and hardest buds... all for the cause. The pots in this grow tent go out at 8:00 AM and start taking direct sunlight until 2:00 PM, then they wait for the sun in the windows until 4:30 PM, after that, the direct sunset sun until 8:00 PM, then the plants sleep until 11:00 PM, and at that hour, I turn on the grow tent... if the days are very cloudy, I leave the plants in the grow tent from 11:00 PM until 5:00 PM... let’s play! In the meantime, I’ve changed the schedule to 12/12h... let the games begin! This week the plant has stretched almost another 20cm, the branches are very sturdy, and I’m trying to tame her with ties all over, but this gypsy is determined to show all the rebellion that runs in her sap. The little gypsy is becoming a true gypsy in her own right, this week she has grown another 20cm, becoming the tallest plant in my joy garden, the leaves have expanded a lot, and you can barely distinguish the stem and branches... flowering has begun! A tall and slender plant like her mother, dark and salty! 💃 Four main branches, very long and powerful that I need to fill with buds, yesterday I placed the plant in a corner of the grow tent with a side LED bar for lighting the entire height of the plant... growing without mercy! Water consumption is brutal, forcing me to water every two days, the truth is I've taken advantage of this grow to experiment with higher nutrient concentrations than usual for this stage of growth, and without a doubt the plant responds with growth and vigor. It's clear that this gypsy is doing her own thing and she's also a show-off wanting to grab attention; this week she's continued to stretch, 11cm, making her the tallest plant by far in all my grows, and this has forced me to do a few things. Due to her height, she doesn't fit under any of the lamps, and since I don't want to move the lights from the other grows, I've set up a corner of the tent just for her with her own lights so she can feel like a Gypsy Queen! 💃 Right above the tops, I have a Full Spectrum COB with a 120° lens, in the corner a 50cm vertical LED bar from Secret Jardin for flowering (2100K, 3000K + IR), and I've added a 3000K COB panel on the side of the plant; I want to develop good buds all the way up the plant... let’s play! This week three deep waterings with different mixes; the plant devours everything and thanks me by growing flowers and maintaining significant vigor and leaf mass. I'm expecting an exceptional grow considering the 7L pot. To make sure this gypsy has everything she needs, I've added dry amendments cooked with Mountain Microorganisms (MM)... all for the cause! It's been a week since this plant has been living in a corner of the tent; its height forced me to relegate it there, but this strain, historically accustomed to neglect, is happily dancing and making the most of its well-lit corner as if it were a palace. Three lamps shine directly on three sides and another parallel lamp bounces light onto the other side. The plant is 94cm tall and has stopped stretching this week, but when I go to visit it in its corner, I see it thriving. The buds are spreading along the long branches, and the side light is going to fatten them all up... let’s play! Fourteen weeks from seed and the eighth since this illuminated gypsy transitioned to flowering! This plant is setting a great example of yield and vigor considering the old-school 7L square pot it's in. This week I've made significant changes to the lighting and space in the grow tent that have really shown results, the buds are growing and fattening up, appearing all along the height of the plant, now it's time to boost all the medium and lower shoots... I had 8 plants growing in the grow tent, I've harvested six, and now that I have space and plenty of lights, I've created a stage worthy of a diva for this gypsy. I've filled the corner of the tent with good light from all sides. This plant had been growing under a full spectrum LED COB (50w) very close to the canopy, now I've replaced that lamp with a 100w panel, plus I've added two LED bars (50w) for flowering (3000k, 2100k + IR) on the sides, also a high-brightness LED panel (50w) with 2700K + 660nm diodes, and to top it off, I've placed a COB panel (50w) of 3000K on another side, and as if that weren't enough, it also receives light from the main lamp (150w) that's currently above the other surviving plant: 3M ◤ A Colombian Legend... maximum energy to keep dancing!! 💃💡💡💡😋 After setting up the lighting system for these crops, the daily water consumption for this plant has increased by about 35% compared to previous weeks, even though the temperature in the grow tent is lower than before, as I've also disconnected other lights after harvesting the rest of my crops. Now, with more space, the aeration for these plants has greatly improved, and the increase in water consumption is directly related to the increase in light intensity and aeration. I've quickly noticed this since I weigh my pots daily to know the exact water consumption. All of this clearly reinforces my concept of high-yield organic cultivation: +light=+energy=+photosynthesis=+metabolism=+watering=+more nutrients= monstrous and dense buds! 🤓😁💡💡💡🌲🌲🌲😈 If I go by the flowering period of the older sister of this plant (3M ▼ Andalusian Gypsy), which lasted 11 weeks until harvested, then I have at least 3 weeks left to fatten up every single bud, no matter where it is... for now, I'm watering with various mixes of Bio Fertilizers with high EC concentrations, above 2, I water deeply every 3 days, and the gypsy keeps smiling... The gypsy keeps fattening the buds without losing her elegant figure! She eats and drinks without restraint... Matthew 25:35-36 This week I made a change to the lights illuminating the stage of this Andalusian gypsy; I replaced the side LED COB lamp of 3000K and diffuse light with another COB with a 90° lens and 2800K. This lamp has more penetration than the previous one, and so the plant won't miss the beautiful red sunsets of this time, I added, on the same side, a 33w spotlight with 660nm diodes and lenses... What a tremendous week of heat, I've taken advantage almost every day to bring the plant out into the sun during the last three hours of the 12/12 cycle, UV rays, IR... and all the fantastic solar spectrum at the service of my great gypsy friend. In addition to these outdoor excursions, I've kept the plant very hydrated, the water consumption is brutal, proportionally this plant and her sister have been the thirstiest plants of all my seasonal grows, and you can tell! I think the plant has the energy to keep maturing for two more weeks, for sure, the cozy spot she occupies in the tent and the great variety and intensity of lights I have over her keep her happy and growing.
