Leaves are big and in better health than her pal next to her and I think it’s because the run off came out at 6.9 where as the royal gorilla came out at 7 so is struggling to take up as much of what it needs.. both went in at 6.3. What a bounce back! She hasn’t stretched much yet either. Keeping temps low for early flower. Trying to keep the difference in daytime temp and night temps less than 5C. Apparently that reduces stretch. We’ll see. DrJones Royal Skywalker week 8: I love this plant. She was a bit slower to start flowering than the plant next to her but she has started at least. The leaves are growing back relentlessly. Massive indica fan leaves. They’ll be coming off after another week ready for the rest of flower. She seems to have really liked the increased dose of bio-grow. Still keeping difference in day and night temps less than 5degrees C for early flower. DrJones Royal Skywalker week 10: I defoliated her and gave a bit of a tidy up. Took away a lot of big leaves and a few small lower branches that were either useless or in the way. I’m really happy with how she’s turning out. She’s started producing trichomes and the flowers are coming along nice. I think I might have left too many fan leaves up top but I’m still happy with her and I don’t want to shock her again now after taking so many leaves off at the beginning of the week. DrJones Royal Skywalker week 11: Week 5 of flower has passed for this lady and she’s doing good. She’s got a bit of a satin shine to her. She looks a lil droopy in the pics cos I just watered heavily. But she’ll be perked back up within a few hours. I cut nitrogen in half this week, and since her flowers are beginning to fatten, I’m gonna up the bloom next week. Light intensity was raised by a little this week and will be going up again next week. DrJones Royal Skywalker week 12: I think I over fed calmag or nitrogen so I reduced both this week. Gonna reduce a bit more next week as well. The buds aren’t huge but hopefully they’ll chunk up over the next last few weeks. The smell isn’t very strong either tbh, quite subtle, not sweet or funky, more like minty and herbal. The leaves are so big, they’re creating a lot of shade, so I’m gonna just go for it and get rid of the fan leaves next week. She should have 2-3 weeks left, but I’m probably gonna take her to 10 weeks tbh. We’ll see. DrJones Royal Skywalker week 13: I went ahead and defoliated most of the remaining fan leaves apart from a few that aren’t really covering much. She’s finally starting to put some size into her flowers. Nothing major but something so I’ll take it. She’s still shooting tons of white pistils so I guess she’s just a bit behind and will fatten up with a bit of extra time. Probably down to my clumsy removal of lower branches a few days after heavy defoliation in week 4 of flower. 🤷‍♂️ She managed to tolerate some pretty high temps the past 2 days. Tent was above 30c, VPD like 1.9 💪 I’m dimming the light next week to combat this a little bit. She’s got a little bit of leaf damage on some of the higher leaves so I thing it’s either been heat or light intensity. Next week I’m backing off the light a bit and the weather is changing to cooler temps too so that will help. Still loads of white pistils and not a whole lot of swelling. The smell is nice, like a sour fruity skunky smell, and she’s got a lot of buds, so I think the extra waiting will be worth it. The smell is EXACTLY how I remember Skywalker OG to smell like. She’s got a nice amount of frost, and she’s slowly getting more swollen. The anticipation of seeing her ready is killing me! DrJones I cut her down and hung individual branches to dry at 60% humidity and 20ish degrees C. After about 9 days I tidied the buds up and put them in jars to cure with 62% boveda packs. The buds are dense, sticky, smelly af, and they smoke nicely. Heavy on the chest and heavy on the brain. Packed with tongue slapping flavour!
