Having pH issues atm but I think it’s down to the silica dose being too high for this stage of life. Watered at 6.3, Run off is coming out higher @ 7.0 so I’ll cut out the silica next week and see if that helps improve health. Run off is still coming out at pH 7 no matter what ph I put in lol. It’s gotta be the worm castings maybe? Not the silica like I thought last week? 🤷‍♂️ new growth actually seems ok anyway almost like the problem sorted itself? 🤷‍♂️ She’s growing low and wide since topping, without training so far which has been nice and easy going for me. Week 5 Royal gorilla: She’s doing great. Looking healthy and bushy now. She needs a bit of a hair cut next week. I’m gonna give her one more week of veg before flipping. She’s got a really nice naturally wide structure which I’m loving. I may or may not train her at this point. Royal gorilla week 7: The first week of 12/12 schedule has come to an end. She’s continuing to grow nice and healthy, without any stretching just yet. I’m trying to keep the temps lower for the early flower phase (25c ish) while not letting the temp go under 22C while lights are off. I read that this apparently reduces stretching during early flower. I guess I’ll find out how true that is soon enough. I’m gonna give her another week then defoliate her hard in preparation for the rest of flower. Royal gorilla week 10: The 4th week of flower for this royal gorilla has come to an end. I removed all large fan leaves apart from a few up top. Took a lot of undergrowth away too. I had to raise her up a bit since the Skywalker next to her stretched a bit more. I have to say, it’s been a pleasure so far. This light is performing excellently. Been maintaining 35cm distance and hitting about 34.5 DLI all week. Royal gorilla week 11: Ending week 5 of flower and no issues so far. Developing nice and looking healthy. I am yet to stick my nose in any buds but i brushed my finger on a sugar leaf and it smells banging. Whooo! I reduced bio-grow to 1ml/L this week, and next week I’m increasing bio-bloom to 3ml/L. Royal gorilla week 12: We’ve reached the end of week 6 of flower for this lady and I’m quite happy with how she’s turning out. She’s healthy, and the frost is coming in. Just needs to chunk up a bit now. I’m gonna increase light intensity one last time next week, and she’ll get some extra Top Max (humid acids) for the final few weeks too. Also, I’ll be reducing nitrogen from next week. Royal gorilla week 12: Wow guys, she’s filling out nice and solid and caking up in frost. It’s week 7 of flower, so approx 2 more weeks. I’ll probably start checking trichomes like next week. I didn’t think I’d need to but actually I was wrong, I had to use 100% power to get the best combo of ppfd and coverage for all the gals in the tent. So the light’s been at 100% this week. I painted her nails a bit. Upped the top max (humid acids) to 3ml/L and reduced the calmag and nitrogen slightly this week. She handled it well, only showing slight tip burn. Royal gorilla week 14: Week 8 of flower is done and she’s starting to swell. I’m gonna start checking trichomes on this girl next week. Temps have been uncontrollably high so I’ve allowed humidity to rise in order to hit more acceptable VPD numbers. Not ideal but something I’ve had to deal with. It was a struggle at the beginning of the week when I didn’t have a humidity controller but I’ve got one setup now and things have been easier since. I’ve got a separate little drying tent for this grow so I can leave the others finish up in their own time while this one hangs to dry. I’m loving the density and smell of the buds, and the generous coating of frost she’s covered in is just amazing. Can’t wait to sample some. Royal gorilla harvest: Hello and welcome to the harvest update for this royal gorilla! I chopped the branches one by one and hung them from a trellis in a separate 2x2 tent. Humidity kept at 60% with normal airflow and gentle air circulation from a usb fan. After 9 days I took it all out and gave the buds a trim and tidy up before putting into jars with 62% humidity packs. It’s been curing for a month now and the smell and taste is amazing!
