A new diary. Let's get started shall we.
First things first, the setup.
AC Infinity Advanced Grow System:
AC Infinity 36" x 36" x 72" Grow Tent
AC Infinity 240 watt LED Ionboard
AC Infinity 4" inline fan with carbon filter
AC Infinity 6" clip fans x2 top one oscillating.
AC Infinity 5.4 gallon Fabric Containers
AC Infinity Bottom Feed Wick System
AC Infinity Germination System:
AC Infinity Tray and 6" Dome with 10" extension
AC Infinity heat mat
Generic LED Full Spectrum 35w light bars x4
DLI: 12.4 mol/m²/d
AC Infinity 4" Cabinet Fan for air circulation.
Root Riot plugs
Sohum Living Soil
Advanced Nutrients Autoflower Feeding Schedule.
So that is the entire setup for the whole grow. As you can see in the full setup picture, there are 2 other plants in there. Those are Zkittlez Autoflowers they should be harvest ready at the same time as these Watermelon Autoflowers.
Today, two seeds were dropped in a small glass of water. They will sit in the dark on a heat mat for the next 24 hours.

Both seeds sank this morning. So in root riot plugs they go. Heat mat is on low with water at the bottom of the tray for humidity. I have the top dome on without the extension for now. The lights are out until I see some green. I'm aiming for a DLI of 12 mol/m²/d for the first few days. The DLI will increase to 16 when they are placed in the tent. The goal is to plant in the final container before the roots start to show too much. I've found it to be the best way to transplant without disturbing anything.

There's a lot of condensation in the Germination System. I turned my little fan on to try and pull some of it out. The seeds still haven't popped surface, but they are making mounds, so I guess they geminated. However, I'd rather not have this much humidity when they pop surface. It should adjust pretty easily.

Both ladies broke surface today. Very happy with the 100% germination. They are in the plugs now. Hopefully they don't outgrow them too quickly. I'd like to keep them in there for at least a week. Lights are on now. DLI is 12 and heat mat is on low. I refilled the bottom tray with a layer of water as well, to keep the humidity up. These ladies are going to come out super awesome. I can feel it.
I've also placed the 5.4 Gallon Fabric Containers in the tent and watered in a half gallon of plain water for each, just to get the moisture spreading a bit. I'll continue to spray the soil for the next week minimally to keep it moist, but not soaked. By then, the pot should be ready for the seedlings and the bottom feed system. I may have to place domes over these ladies in the tent as well. Although, I'm keeping it around 76° and 60% humidity. That should be perfect for these 2 when they go in. Maybe I'll be able to plant them before the roots start to show.

Well, we have some difference between these two. So the reference will be the Big one is Watermelon One and the smaller one on the right is Watermelon Two.
Watermelon One shot right up. I'm going to wait and see what happens with Watermelon Two today before I add the extension.

Wow! They are both already showing a ton of roots. These ladies are going to grow super fast. Both are now in their respective 5 gallon containers. Watered in and Starbucks Domed. They are growing faster than I anticipated. Honestly, I may not be prepared for them to grow so fast. However, I'm excited to see how they come out. As long as I make no mistakes, hopefully we will see a half pound total. 8 oz isn't too much to ask for with 2 plants that can grow 500 g/m². 125 grams per plant based on a 4 plant setup. 2 plants would yield 125 grams each. Landing a yield of 250 grams. Rounding down to 200 would give just over 7 oz.
Lower Grow System Environment:
Temp: 75.7°
RH: 75% (estimated)

Both ladies look wonderful. No issues with the Sohum soil and I expect some wonderful plants. They both got a little bit of water and a spray around the pot to keep the soil moist while it adjusts to the right levels. It will take a week to do som perfect timing for the veg period. They are still under the domes. Although, I'm pretty sure I can take them off in a couple of days. The environment is perfectly fine for them. I've also discovered an issue with using my Germination System. Autoflowers only take about 2 days to outgrow the system and the plugs. So I may just germinate in the plugs and plant the plugs directly in their 5 gallon pots with autos from now on. The Germination System can be used mostly for photos.
Lower Grow System Environment:
Temp: 76°
RH: 75% (estimated)

Looking good. Sprayed the domes, watered the outside of the soil. Not much, just enough to let it soak into the top soil. Should be good for bottom feeding next week.
Lower Grow System Environment:
Temp: 71°
RH: 75% (estimated)

Both ladies are looking good today. I think their domes are going to come off in the next day or 2. They are both growing very nicely.
Watermelon One is the taller of the two, but Watermelon Two is catching up quite nicely.
Lower Grow System Environment:
Temp: 77°
RH: 75% (estimated)

Can we just talk for a minute about the pace of growth with these ladies? 3 days germination, 7 days seedling, and starting veg exactly at day 8 of growth. They are so on point, it's scary. Lol
They both just started showing their first node and growing their first set of true leaves.
Tomorrow I'll prime the containers and start the bottom feed system. It should take about 3 days to totally prime and get the system fully working.
Lower Grow System Environment:
Temp: 79°
RH: 75% (estimated)
Looking for a second, third, forth and so on opinion. One of the plants in this diary is in the tent with a huge Zkittlez Auto. It's really squished in there. Overlapping branches and leaves. How to make it fit? Thanks! Snip outer leaves? Remove tie downs? Let it ride? Thanks!
You can use LST, given that its in flower now and its an auto to much stress can stunt it growth.
Some autos grow massive some don't its a real coin toss. A lot of people prefer photoperiods as you can do almost anything to them in veg and they will recover. HST LST w/e
Good Luck!
There is one auxiliary branch that has weird leaf formations. The rest of the plant is fine. Just the one branch. It's got strange curled leaves. Still green. Tons of trichomes and no pests or anything. Any insight?
3 options, one should be out, because its auto, but i saw many strange autos, so :
1. light leak, some stupid reveg mode at certain point
2. too intense light and heat
3. heavy excess of nitrogen during flower caused it.
This is looking beautiful! Love the red trim on those sugar leaves. I'm wondering why the RH is 57.5%? Haven't seen this so late in flower before and would love some insight. From a noobie growmie, great work!!
@Prilyfe13, Ah I understand! I'm also fighting high humidity with season change occurring. I've got a portable heater in my environment and that has been a bud-saver. Not sure if that's something you can incorporate - keeping temp under ~79C?
Thanks so much for your response, and again - congratulations on the grow thus far, it's incredible!
@MMSC16, Thanks! These ladies are definitely pretty. The RH is not on purpose. I'm fighting super high humidity at home. I'd much rather it be around 50% if not 45%. I just record what my averages are for the week. So far, I haven't seen any issues. Flowering is slow, so it might be the RH? Not too sure to be honest. Thanks again!
Evoluciona con un colores preciosos!
No te preocupes en dejar un par de semanas más a la planta numero 2
Seguramente te recompensará con unos cogollos bien duros!
