This strain was fantastic to grow. Buds were nice and chunky. Super dense and the smell is fantastic. It was an easy grow. Even with an accidental topping, they still came out nice. I recommend this strain. Great for beginners.
I've been using AC Infinity for a few grows now and I still love it. This company puts out a quality product. They also have just about everything you need.
September 6, 2023 Day 99 Harvest
This harvest was surprisingly heavy considering the smaller size of these ladies.
Wet Weight: Wet Trimmed...Mostly.
Watermelon One: 19 oz.
Watermelon Two 13 oz.
Both are hanging in the main tent for now until the last plant in the dry tent finishes up.
Probably 2 weeks of drying as the buds are so very dense. I'll be moving them over to the dry tent ASAP due to new plants getting ready to sprout. Will check in tomorrow.
September 7, 2023 Drying Stage
Day 1: Like my last harvest, the humidity is ridiculously high. And absolutely refuses to relent. Even with all the space in the main tent, nits still over 70% RH. Temp is fine but wow. I have never experienced this much humidity in effing Buffalo NY for such a long time. It's been nearly a month of this and it's going to keep up for however long. Anyway, I turned the dehumidifier on to hopefully blow some dry air to get a hint of a drop in RH. Everything else looks fine. Just drying.
UPDATE: The house AC kicked on and brought the RH and Temp within range.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 66.5°
RH: 69.8%
VPD: 0.66 kPa
UPDATE: I had to move the plant drying in the dry tent over to share the main tent with these ladies. I needed room somewhere to accommodate new seedlings in the next day or 2. As soon as this other plant finishes drying these 2 are going in the dry tent for the rest of their time. A little bit of a swapparoo. But necessary and all part of the plan.
September 8, 2023
Day 2: Looking good so far. Humidity is a bit high, but there's a decent amount of air flow, so I'm not all that worried. This will be a 14 day dry. And it should be a great quality product afterwards. Then a 3 week cure.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 67.7°
RH: 64.6%
VPD: 0.79 kPa
September 9, 2023
Day 3: Not much to update. The humidity in the dry tent is too high. I may have the same issue as my last grow. The RH is ridiculously high and it's been drying for 17 days and still no sign of finishing up. I'll be checking these ladies out in about 2 weeks. Just pictures for now. I'll update daily with whatever happens. Mostly environmental stuff.
Update: I have to replace my portable AC. It's defective and is decidedly the cause of the super high humidity. The condenser builds too much condensation and when it shuts off that condensation evaporates back through the fans in right back into the room. Producing more humidity and this killing the humidity in the room. That in turn spikes the humidity in the tent and with it off, the house ac is doing the job just fine. Replacement in the works. (House AC only runs for about 5 hours a day)
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 66.5°
RH: 64.2%
VPD: 0.78 kPa
September 10, 2023
Day 4: I moved the plants to the small tent. The other plant that was drying with these ladies is now trimmed and jarred. (241 grams) So now there's plenty of space. I ended up cutting them up as well. Now there is lots of space for air movement. We shall see how it goes. I don't want mold again.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 67.8°
RH: 68.9%
VPD: 0.73 kPa
September 11, 2023
Day 5: Humidity is really high today. 98% RH outside and nearly 76% in the dry tent. I may have to move them back to the big tent until the seedlings I have going move in. Let's hope this all pans out properly. The original goal was to harvest and trim at the same time as the 2 other plants that shared the tent. Hopefully this won't take 17 days to dry.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 67.8°
RH: 68.9%
VPD: 0.73 kPa
September 12, 2023
Day 6: The humidity in the tent is kinda bouncy, but I think I found a solution. I put my larger dehumidifier in the dry tent and have my ac blowing directly on the tent. So far it seems to be working, kinda.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 67.4°
RH: 63.9 %
VPD: 0.85 kPa
September 13, 2023
Day 7: Nothing to report today. Humidity is still a bit too high, but it's not in the 70s. More like between 60% and 65%. Temps are fine still.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 69.6°
RH: 63.9%
VPD: 0.89 kPa
September 14, 2023
Day 8: I'd say we are about 3/4 way there. Another 5 days or so and these ladies should be all ready to go. I've managed to get a bit of a handle on the RH. I'm using a mix of dehumidifier in the tent and the AC blowing directly at the tent. Keeps the temp down and humidity at a near constant rate.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 65.8°
RH: 63.1%
VPD: 0.80 kPa
September 15, 2023
Day 9: I woke up to a much too warm dry tent today. It was 74° in there, and the RH was too low at around 51%
So I turned on the AC for a bit to drop the temp. Happily, the temp dropped to 68° and RH is up to 56%
As long as everything stays where it's at, I'll have some perfectly smokable bud in the next few days. Maybe 5? Either way, I'm very excited for this crop to dry.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 68.1°
RH: 55.2%
VPD: 1.07 kPa
September 16, 2023
Day 10: It's the start of the snap test. Nothing today, but certainly almost ready. Just a few more days. However, I have a small issue. I don't have anymore curing jars. I ran out with my last grow. It's a small problem to have, but a bit of a time crunch. Anyway, these plants have the best buds I've grown so far. I may have had a white widow over a year ago that had some really good bud, but not as good as this, I think.
Also, I think I finally have the environment under control. Let's hope it stays like this for the next few days.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 67°
RH: 60.1%
VPD: 0.91 kPa
September 17, 2023
Day 11: Another couple of days in the dry tent for these ladies. The snap test is getting closer and closer. The stems are hardening off and the bend is almost restrictive and almost there.
It's still going to take a bit more time. Like 2 to 3 days. But when these ladies are done, I'm going to have some fantastic bud.
I think I can actually clear out some jars for these ladies to cure. 1 grave bag and 1 jar so far. I'll need 4 total. 2 jars and 2 grove bags should do it. It'll take a bit of maneuvering and maybe some smaller jars, but they aren't for curing. So I'll have to see what I can pull off.
So that's it for the day.
Update: I think I'm going to try and drop the RH. It was hovering around 62%, but I think maybe 55% to 58% would be good. I feel like it would be good for the rest of the dry. If it works that is.
Major Update: I found a branch from Watermelon Two that seemed to be done. Maybe it wasn't, but it definitely wasn't too far off. The total trimmed weight is 2.8 grams.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 66.4°
RH: 62.3%
VPD: 0.84 kPa
September 18, 2023
Day 12: I've noticed that when the humidity is way up, as it has been, the moisture in the stems comes back. I feel like these ladies are dry, but none of the stems are snapping anymore. It doesn't feel like they are anywhere close to done, but just the other day, they were almost snapping. It's humid again today, so that's certainly the reason for the high humidity in the tent. However, I do have the dehumidifier in there with the AC blowing on it again. It seems to be keeping everything in check. Let's hope it stays like that.
Dry System Environment:
Temp: 65.9°
RH: 62.8%
VPD: 0.82 kPa
September 19, 2023 Curing Stage
Day 1: So just a recap of this grow and bud structure. It started out kinda rough with lighting issues. But then, although short, these ladies produced some pretty dense bud. And a total of 5oz! Wow! Still happily surprised.
Between the 2 diaries I was running at once, I have a total of 13.5 oz out of a total of 4 plants. Wow.
Looking for a second, third, forth and so on opinion. One of the plants in this diary is in the tent with a huge Zkittlez Auto. It's really squished in there. Overlapping branches and leaves. How to make it fit? Thanks! Snip outer leaves? Remove tie downs? Let it ride? Thanks!
You can use LST, given that its in flower now and its an auto to much stress can stunt it growth.
Some autos grow massive some don't its a real coin toss. A lot of people prefer photoperiods as you can do almost anything to them in veg and they will recover. HST LST w/e
Good Luck!
There is one auxiliary branch that has weird leaf formations. The rest of the plant is fine. Just the one branch. It's got strange curled leaves. Still green. Tons of trichomes and no pests or anything. Any insight?
3 options, one should be out, because its auto, but i saw many strange autos, so :
1. light leak, some stupid reveg mode at certain point
2. too intense light and heat
3. heavy excess of nitrogen during flower caused it.
This is looking beautiful! Love the red trim on those sugar leaves. I'm wondering why the RH is 57.5%? Haven't seen this so late in flower before and would love some insight. From a noobie growmie, great work!!
@Prilyfe13, Ah I understand! I'm also fighting high humidity with season change occurring. I've got a portable heater in my environment and that has been a bud-saver. Not sure if that's something you can incorporate - keeping temp under ~79C?
Thanks so much for your response, and again - congratulations on the grow thus far, it's incredible!
@MMSC16, Thanks! These ladies are definitely pretty. The RH is not on purpose. I'm fighting super high humidity at home. I'd much rather it be around 50% if not 45%. I just record what my averages are for the week. So far, I haven't seen any issues. Flowering is slow, so it might be the RH? Not too sure to be honest. Thanks again!
Evoluciona con un colores preciosos!
No te preocupes en dejar un par de semanas más a la planta numero 2
Seguramente te recompensará con unos cogollos bien duros!
