Strain Dependent....but mine did not like these at full strength. Happy with the outcome but may switch to Nutrients that do not require a flush (organic) Using Autopots made flushing properly difficult. Will not use them again.

Well, I made a judgement call and Harvested on day 10 of my Auto-pot Reservoir Flush due to the trichomes being perfectly where I wanted them. If I waited 10 more days as recommended (they say to do a 20 day flush through the reservoir when using Auto-Pots) then my it would have been over-ripe and I could potentially not get the effects I am looking for. So, cut em down and I feel good about the call made. I did not take the wet weight but will post the dry weight in 7 days. Not sure how you can properly choose the flavor and aroma without properly curing first so I am just leaving blank for now. WHAT I LEARNED FROM THIS: When using Autopots, it is beneficial to be familiar with the strain your are growing and the flowering time. I did not time my 20 day flush correctly. The other solution to this would be to just use Organic Nutrients. AUTOPOT Likes and Dislikes: Likes: 1-Airdomes were great for drying out the bottom of the pots between feedings and aerating the roots. 2-Auto watering system. Changed and cleaned reservoir every 5 days for 6 plants. DISLIKES: 1-Not being able to flush from the top. 20 days flush through reservoir. 2-Airdomes are a mess after the grow and cannot be re-used. (airdromes are optional to be fair) 3-The Aqua Valve does not fit snugly into the trays and if these disconnect, your reservoir will flood into your tent (they will, disconnect as they are loosely attached to the bottom and want to float. Very Poor Design). I checked mine every day and still had this happen 3 times.000

Seedlings are leggy and in a tray under the dome. Dome is cracked open. Using a T5 Reflector. Light is as close to dome as it can go. I have a Viparspectra 900W (R900) LED with a Veg and Flower mode. Env con good. Should I get these leggy bastards under my stronger grow light?

Your Setup is quite nice. 900 W ist alot for Blasting on the Babies. Normally 200-300 will do the whished effect, dont quite understand why they are stretching like this. Its normally a sign for lack of light.Your datas looking very nice from Humidity, temp and Ph... is a mystic thing.I would recommend digging them deeper into another pot... but you want to do dwc with them?....... I would add a soft airflow to them so the stems are moving and getting fatter. maybe that is the missing piece in the Puzzle, watch your video now maybe i see more. then i write in the comments

Hi All, Question about airdomes. I am transplanted into my 7L Autopots this morning and will be top watering until they are rooted.....when is it ok to turn on my airdomes? I will be running them during the light on hours of course. Any experience with this?

hey man you want to have them turned on asap, just wait until they are rooted first and then it's off to the races ! Now would actually be a good time to turn them on - go for it ! good luck , great set up, will follow along ! dassit 🚀

I have been aggressively LST training throughout VEG and have done it twice since triggering flowering 7 days ago. SCROG. My question is how long into flowering do you typically continue to LST train before just allowing everything to just shoot up. Up to date Recent pics above.

You can train them how ever long you want that's truly up to you , the question is what are you trying to achieve . If your doing it to get an even canopy then I would continue to do so until your satisfied that the canopy is even then just let them grow . With the Scrog in place you will be able to notice almost immediately whats going to stretch and what isn't going to as bad . Like I've said you can LST all the way through but most people do it to get an even canopy or open up bud sites to the light. If they continue to stretch a lot you can place a second scrog above the first to further help control the stretch . I hope this information has helped you a bit ! -Happy Growing!

Hi @DKBJJ! Just fill your reservoir with plain pH'd water, for 1 to 2 weeks depending on trichome's evolution. 👊

@stevieb21,I smoke about an ounce a week (for 20 years) and this is supposed to be my day time smoke. Point being, I know when I am smoking good stuff because I feel the heat behind my eyes and they feel like they are sweating for a few minutes... And when I smoke it in a joint my lips go numb....this is the only way for me to tell if it is any good or not...and Cali does this for me. My wife said she likes working out on it.. I also just found out I suck at reviews.

The science behind the fact you can have problems with the res... this comes from experience and hours of research! It all has to do with the nature of the bacteria. Certain strains of bacteria and fungi are present everyday, you could go into the supermarket touch something bring it home to you’re lovely clean and healthy garden, and if you’re environment gives the fungi or bacteria chance to multiply and infect your grow space well to be frank you’re fucked. I had root rot caused by an infection in the res. I added boosters and flavor inhancer called terpinator. Then my res temp exceeded 20c in the summer. Due to the Cyanobacteria being an aerobic, by giving it air I actually caused it to grow... however I wouldn’t stop using an air stone or sufficient air pump as anaerobic bacteria infection is far worse thing to have. I could write for hours giving you advice about how I use my system but ultimately you’re going have to see what happens for you. Of course you may have no problems at all. But if you’re adding any form of H202 I’d advise to stop especially if you’re using a form of benneficial bacteria... I’m sorry but I won’t be reading the label for all those nutrients you’re using so your knowledge will help you decide what to do. If you are using h2o2 scrap that and add benneficial bacteria (microbes) instead. I’ll just let you know how I use them. And how others do too with success. Me personally I hand feed till week 4-5 making sure there is a nice size on the plants. Then I start using the res to bottom feed. In the res goes the base nutrients and Calmag only NOTHING ELSE I keep the res clean and clean the filter weekly, get some filter foam for fish tanks cut it up and replace monthly. Essentially everything else goes into the tray. So I make a batch of additives plus a benneficial bacteria tea and add that to the tray. How I do that is... come home from work turn off the valve to the trays so no more water is coming in wait till they all dry to the point where the floats are closing the aqua valve then add 400ml to the tray itself. If all your nutrients and liquid form this is perfectly fine and you shouldn’t have any clogging issues as the mixture never enters the piping. Hope this helps you or anyone else using them if you do come to some difficulties👍🏼

Thanks for asking :-) Once I transplanted them into the 2L pots I made the mistake of upping the PPM on my nutes and adding a few nutes that were meant for vegetative stage. They were also placed under the LED for their 1st 18 hour cycle under the lights. The next morning I experienced very, very slight nute burn on 2 of my 6 seedlings Little ones were not ready for a higher PPM yet. It was too early. I flushed them all right away yesterday morning with straight water (distilled) and put them back in the tent....since then they have been through 1 night and 1 day cycle....NO MORE NUTE BURN OCCURRING!😀 These were also on the first set of true leaves, nothing showing on the second set that are growing. ***Update.I just checked on them again now and they are booming. I posted a picture of the nute burn....

@Mrs_Larimar, lol, it works great and much better than the jewelers magnifier I was using. There is no guessing as to when is the right time to harvest now! I checked under the microscope this morning and we are looking at 50% amber....I will harvest in 7 days.....giving a 10 day flush on the autos...

PharmaZ
PharmaZcommented6 years ago
@DKBJJ, is it the first time with autopots? Honestly without trying to scare you off or be negative you may run into problems if your putting so many nutrients in the res. I did @Hawkbo did and another friend I have had had many problems with the res itself.
DKBJJ
DKBJJcommented6 years ago
@PharmaZ, If you mean reservoir, then yes...I have filled and emptied it at least 3 times....about once a week (40L/wk) I have also been running them on airdomes since day 1 of transplanting to the larger pots.
DudeGrowsWeed
DudeGrowsWeedcommentedweek 16 years ago
Yes, I’d recommend you either get them under stronger light or get them closer to your existing lights. If you can’t bring the lights any lower you may be able to raise the tray instead. You can also bury the plants lower in the soil when you transplant into larger pots. Good luck 👍

Ok, seen it. First at all wowo great setup......!!!!!! Very well prepared. lovely. Buuuut your "seedlingsstation " lacks" some light. Do you have one more of those small Lamps i think its between 25-50 watts. that not enough for the lil ones. Option one is one more small Lamp Option 2 is difficult^^........can you slow down the output of you big lamp to maybe 100 Watt=? or 200 If yes do that and put the girls on a tray and rise them up to 15-20 cm but pls very carefully

DKBJJcommented6 years ago
@Mrs_Larimar, Well, I transplanted them before I saw your post so now I definitely need the extra coverage as they are spaced out in the pots. Getting a second light is not an option at the moment......sooooooo, I am going to keep them under the LED on VEG but keep the light at 36" above the seedlings. Research has led me to believe that this would be a safe height. So fingers crossed. Next time I will have the second light (small lamp) and keep them under for longer before transplanting. Live and learn :-). Thanks for your Help!

Hi @DKBJJ! Well, my guess is that those babies suffered from heat and too much humidity in the air. Do you measure the temperature inside or outside the dome? For your information, domes are made for clones, not for germinating seeds. Seedlings don't need high relative humidity, they might even stop growing in a constantly wet environment. Now about your light, yes you can use the 900W LED, just make sure the plant<--->light distance is safe and double-check that your apical summits are not getting too much heat (hand test). Finally, if you don't want them to stretch anymore, you may consider using a tiny fan. A slight continuous breeze helps in building strong (and non-stretchy) stems. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊
DKBJJ
DKBJJcommented6 years ago
@Stick, The heat within the dome was at a steady 75-80F the whole time. Humidity was hovering between 75-80%. The dome was contained within a 5x5 grow tent that was maintained at proper day and night temps. (72F night @ 60%H, 80F Day) on an 18/6 light cycle once my seedling sprouted. For germination I used the soak in water and place in paper towel method, then planted in Coco Coir under the dome. The past few days I had been slowly cracking the dome to introduce the seedlings to the their new environment and decided to transplant today because roots were coming out of the bottom the the tray under the dome and my seedling were stretching looking for light. I felt based on the process of elimination that transplanting and putting under my LED 900W on Veg was the best option...in my newbie, very limited experience of course, lol. My plants were transplanted and went right into darkness at 1pm today. They have now been under the LED 900w at 36" away for the past 3 and 1/2 hours and are doing very well...I have seen no change in the plants so far...interested to see what the morning brings. I also put a small fan on the seedling for a little movement like you mentioned. They are also getting some air flow from my intake which is situated at plant level in my tent. I will hand test the for too much heat as you mentioned as putting these under the LED at this stage was my biggest concern. Thanks for you help! Everyone has been great on here.

Update: Day 18 - Pictures above. ***One of my 3 Blue Cookies plants is smaller than than the two other Blue Cookies. Cali OG Amnesia Haze X all look good. TROUBLE SHOOTING: Temps Good, Humidity at constant 60%. LED 900 Watt Lights @ 36" from plants. Watering Daily at first lights on. PPM Runoff under 300. PH at a solid 6.2. All other plants seem fine so I am hestitant to change anything. Hoping perhaps I just have a dud......

I just read that long post back and realised that I missed you don’t actually need to add anything to the trays at all as long as what your putting in the res is not organic. Or any form of sugary carbs or h2o2. H2o2 kills everything good and bad, so by adding it with any form of bennies (beneficial bacteria and fungi) your wasting money as they are being killed by it hope thats clear. Bennies to the res will fight off anything in the res. The reason I don’t add something like voodoo juice, hydroguard or any other Bennie is because I’m tight. If you want it easy and expensive by all means I would advise you to get something like that to pour in with your other nutrients. I personally like making a tea it’s a hell of a lot cheaper but that’s just me.
