Hi all! Back at it!! Nice to see ya again!
This time I changed a few things in the box.
I'll be running one plants of two different strains instead of three plant of the same, so I raised the pot size to 15 liters / 4 gal airpots.
And I'll give a try to a new nutrient solution! I'l be running the Bio Tabs line that I won a few month ago in the diary of the month contest (Thanks GD and Bio Tabs ;-) ). I have very high expectations so let's hope everything goes fine!
I prepared the soil according to the Bio Tabs instructions.
The rest is identical and I'll list the hardware here under.
Also I'll try to be more regular and to update my diaries more often. My last indoor diaries were missing some weeks and some quality pics too to be honest.
So see you soon and thanks for watching!
Ho and as usual fel free to ask anything!
Hardware:
60x120 (2x4) blackbox
PrimaKlima 220/360 m3/h extractor (always on switch 1) pushes air in
Green filter CH10 (entrance, passive exit) So yes I filter air coming in but not going out. I don't have any need for odor control :-D
1 secret jardin 20w fan
2x 180W COB led lights
2x 15L airpots
Winflex temp and humidity tester
And the top of soil, Bio Canna Bio Terra Plus
Yay! It's been a long time since I had a frankenstrain!! The second pair of branches has a little modification, can't wait to see what they will become later on!
For the rest I would say she is growing fast! Even faster than the gelato, she already has a centimeter more in height.
Switched to Ro water plus 1ml of CaMg+ and 2ml of orgatrex per week.
Cya next week!
Hi all! Same ascertainment here than for the Gelato... overfeeding in progress! I'll try to remove some of the tabs to correct that.
The two first branches were removed and lst will start soon.
Cya in a week to see how much she has burnt...
Hi all! Feel free to leave your condolences in the comment section... 😅
So Hulkberry is not in very good shape right now! it's amazing to see that the two plants received exactly the same treatment for totally different results!
I know you are asking yourself why the hell did I prepare the same soil for two strains with different genes... and I wonder why myself!!! I can be really stupid sometimes!! When I prepared the soil I was convinced that HB was more indica too but actually not at all! Fucking shitty memory of mine sometimes!!
So definitely the dose of silicum flash I mixed with the soil was too big for her, and three tabs are too much. I already corrected the amount of tabs but there is nothing I really can do to correct the amount of silicum. I don't want to make a huge flush because I feel I will do more arm to the soil by washing all the life in it. So I will lower what I can lower to help her and water a bit more and we'll see how she does. That's not the first recovery I do but this one seem particularly tricky to achieve.
Thoughts regarding biotabs and their feed chart: I think the doses that are written in the biotabs documentation (talking about silicum flash and tabs here) fit well for a full indica strain but one should consider lowering them when growing sativas. I would consider going from half the amounts for a full sativa to full doses for a full indica. The hybrids would need something in-between.
Anyway I started the training, flattening branches and twisting main stem. I'll maybe wait a bit more before topping her.
Cya in a week to see how she heals!
Hi all! Some very sad news this week! I had to take a difficult but wise decision! Both Hulkberry and Gelato will be terminated!
I took this decision not because I didn't want to save them but because there was too much differences in they life chronology. The fact that they are photoperiodic plants doesn't allow me to take more time to recover one of the two as they should be switched at the same time. Hulk is way too far back and needs weeks before even thinking of flowering. As you can see looking at the young leaves and despite the several flushes I did the plant is still overfed as the roots continue to dig down in the more rich layers of the soil.
So I'll be restarting very soon but with two indicas in one box and two sativas in another as I have also an Hashplant and a Bruce Banner from PEV Bank to grow. So Hulkberry and Bruce Banner will fill one tent and Green Gelato and Hashplant will fill the other one. That's what I wanted to do initially but I received the PEV seeds way after the RQS ones.
First time ever I have to abort a grow but it definitely was the good decision.
And to all: DO NOT FOLLOW BIOTABS RECOMMENDATIONS REGARDING SILICON FLASH!!!! Or you will badly lock out your plants!!
See you very soon for the next runs!
This week you’re giving everybody some precious informations about Biotabs and their different way to work with sativas and indicas. I don’t see this as a big problem, since you’re still in veg and already fixed it. I’ve got big expectations for this baby. Keep going bro! 😃
Crap I’m way too late to this one. Sorry to hear it dude but probably the wise choice if ur cycles gonna be all messed up. I planned on doing a hulk berry at some point next year so at least there’s something to learn from this. Thanks very much for the share and good luck on the next run!👊
Sorry for your lady.. That's a fact hulkberry doesn't like heavy feeding at all.. Had one of them blocked by nutrients.. After two weeks with only water she started to bulk again.. And same for high temps, over 27 c, shestop growing...
@Michka, Thanks for the infos mate! I think I won't have problems with the temps this time except maybe too much cold but I'll have to fine tune the tabs! New HB diary coming soon!
its not...............................but not to doing research and growing is just pointless.......................i noticed that u know that u overfeed,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,thats a step forward..............well good luck next time
