Germination
2y ago
izzy89 Hi reader, Started tuesday 6th of June with glass of water method. After 12-15hours, I put the seeds in the moisty peat pellets. First time I did this and the result is magnificent. No helmet heads like in the past, no overwatering since the pellet is already moist,.... Three of them popped to the surface at saturday. Transplanted it into the soil the day they appeared with their stem and cotyledons at the surface. The medium I use is Biobizz Light mix with 15L/4 gal fabric pots. I mixed 75grams of RQS easy grow and treated it with anti-fungal (phytium, verticullum, fusarium). Also mixed mycorrhiza with the soil and before transplanting the peat pellets, put around 5grams underneath the pellet. The lights are the well known FC4800. I have 2 pieces in my tent and this time, I put them closer to eachother so there is some cross light in the middle. This way I was able to put 2 extra pots.

izzy89 12/6; they are doing fine 15/6; day 6 getting around 6400 lux of light. The pot is saturated with water so I watered +- 50ml yesterday 2inch/5cm around the plant. Put the smallest one in a dome so it can absorb more moist and grow faster. 18/6 Day 9; 125ml water with root juice. At night I sprayed some bio heaven and acti vera. 19/6 Day 10; light increased to +- 8000 lux 23/6 day 14 ; they are doing fine. Will increase light intensity step by step upcoming days. Humidity past two weeks between 85% to 70% in second week.

izzy89 24/6 day 15 getting into veg so I increased the intensity to 8500-9000 lux. Before light I sprayed with Alga Mic for stress and Acti Vera for better metabolism 28/6 day 19 Increased intensity to 12000-13000 lux Plant 3 gets around 11500lux (300ppfd) since it is still small. I don't know why it got behind. Could be because of the roots when it was a seedling or the seed was not 90%+ quality anymore. These seeds are from march 2022. That is why I used them first. FiFo principle :-)

Grow Questions

izzy89started grow question 2y ago
This autoflower is in early flower mode. I am wondering if it is the right time to defoliate. I'm waiting for it to stretch out and grow taller. It is still somewhat small... I have given the leaves a name. Should I defoliate or not? thank you for your help and time.

Don't listen to anyone who tells ya to defoliate or top your autoflowers, they're on their own short clock and if you defoliate or top, you'll take vital time away from the plant to produce new growth, if it takes 3 days to recover that's 3 days lost. Take it from me, I grew 1 pound autoflowers more then once in my life and I'm telling ya let the be, you'll thank me late.

izzy89 12/8 plant 1 does have alot of foliage but didn't stretch out that much. I hoped that it would stretch so the buds would have more room and light penetration. Plant 2 & 3 no comments about them. They look fine.

@gottagrowsometime, ok. I'll leave it. I've just seen few pistils deep at the center behind the foliage but that's it. All my other plants are in pre-flower.

I'm blocked now from chat. I'll mes you proper soon. Any leafs that haven't got well defined shoots/nodes should be left. As with autos. They'll take ages to grow the nodes over A-B (if there's hardly nodes there. Id leave) c/d or anything with a shoof / node it can be removed. L/G/H they're all attached to the weak nodes. Can you see above how the next set above the 1st is more developed? They're nearly always weak. The sooner the better they're removed. If you see hairs near your shoots, which i don't. You're not near or in pre flower.
the end.
