This is my second grow. 5 gal DWC, x2-3 132 W (actual) GH LEDs first in a 24'x48'x60 tent then I moved them to a multi room 36'x48'x80' tent towards the end. The strain is Bubble Gum by MSNL.com. I started out pretty rough but I gave them a very long veg to recover and they are doing great now. Also, I found this website a few days ago and wanted to retroactively upload and create this grow at the end of flower week 6 ish. Enjoy!
This week I completed the set up for the manifold for the most part. I stripped the 3rd and 5th nodes I believe, then topped the 6th node spot creating 8 symmetrical tops.
This week marked the end of a very, very long veg period. I had many issues from the start with the lights being to close and then over fertilization. This has been an extremely sensitive strain and anytime I tried to increase my base nutrient dosages over about 1/4 strength the plants practically lit on fire they burned so bad. I wanted to give the plants time to recover from everything and get set before I flipped so it ended up being about a 2 month veg.
This was a really exciting week. The girls are at day 41 of 12/12. Already, a majority of the colas are as big if not bigger than what the colas from my last grow finished at. That's amazing because I am estimating at least another 2 weeks (with overdrive 😀) of nutrients with an additional week of flush before they finish!
There is very little smell in the grow room other than the standard hydro smell and a slight cannabis odor if you put your nose right up to the plant. This is a great stealth strain which my SO appreciates.
I am a little worried because this is the first time I have seen where the leaves are yellowing because I am towards the end of flower. I know that to a certain extent it is normal but could anyone more experienced maybe let me know if the amount of yellow I have is normal for this stage? The reason I am worried is because after my last grow I was suuuper worried about nitrogen toxicity (because it ruined one of my last plants) so I ended up cutting out pretty much all nutrients with a nitrogen value (including cal/mag) around week 2-3 of flower. I now think this was too early because there is a lot of cal mag deficiency looking leaves.
Lastly, I noticed a weird gunk in my reservoir when I was mixing up the new batch of nutrients before I put my plants back in. So I washed the buckets out like normal giving them a good scrub and rinse. I added in all of the nutrients above AND Bud Factor X, and a silver dollar sized ball of what I can only describe as a huge "loogie" appeared and was floating around in both buckets. I have never had this happen before and my only guess is that it was some interaction between the x factor and the overdrive? AN doesn't recommend using them at the same time in their feeding charts but I just got the bottle and wanted to use it for 2 weeks. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of it but it was about the same color as my roots (just off white towards brown). I emptied out the buckets and added everything in slowly except the x factor and no mucous formed. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks to all the helpful people in this community. This is a really neat site that I am so glad I found.
Getting pretty excited for harvest. I am tentatively planning on one more full week of nutrients and then beginning a flush until I see 20-40% amber trichomes. Thanks to everyone who has stopped by!
Getting really excited to cut them down. Seeing plenty of amber trichomes right now so I plan on harvesting this Saturday. On Wednesday I will be changing the buckets out with plain RO water and adding Flawless Finish from AN for a 3-4 day flush.
I will be experimenting a bit with different drying methods this harvest. I live in an extremely dry climate and I let my last crop dry out way too fast. To determine which is the better method for me for future harvests, I will be doing one plant with a wet trim and one plant with a dry trim (minus the large fan leaves). I am not sure when I will post my results as I want to do about a month long cure before I really decide to do a tasting and journal so this might be one of my last updates for a while.
Thanks to everyone who stopped in!
Bubble Gum (from seed) grown in DWC from MSNL. So This had to be the most sensitive strain I have ever grown. I do not think that was necessarily a bad thing either. I could not give it any more than 1/8-1/4 strength nutrients at any point or they would burn immediately. These plants were very sensitive and responsive to any environmental changes.
It makes it so you really do not have to use many nutrients which is actually very cost effective but it is unforgiving. It did really well in a manifold. I probably would not pick this strain again to grow again but they are really great for some free seeds!
Great as a stealth strain and emits very little odor when growing. If you have a carbon filter you will be perfect.
Thanks MSNL!
Month Cure Update:
So I can sort of detect a faint fruity/lemony scent but it is underneath the same smell I smelled from my white widow last grow. I am not positive but I am pretty sure it dried to fast or the Boveda packs are having some sort of impact. I hung them up for about 4 days before putting them into jars but I believe I was too aggressive with the burping and over dried them once I had cut them down.
The high from my perspective is very mellow and the smoke is very smooth about a month in. It is definitely great for watching a movie or doing something creative but it definitely hits my speech pathways because I get really tongue tied (and then quiet) when I smoke it. Great for bed time.

Thank you to everyone who voted for my diary. I had such a great time hanging with you guys and posting my updates. To say thank you I will be sure to grow out the new seeds and post it on here. Grow on everyone!
This was a really long grow. A few set backs but overall I learned a lot and had a really positive experience. I did a few weird unofficial experiments for this grow:
First - I used a wet trimming method for one plant and a dry trim method of the other one. I live in a very dry environment and even using a humidifier can be difficult to control humidity. I am going to compare the results to determine if there is a difference in smell, quality, smoke, smoothness, etc. I have read a lot and it seems to be a bit of preference so I want to find out what I like.
Second - I tried "Docs Bud Washing Technique" on 4 of the colas. Google the quote to find the discussion board where it the method was discovered. There are arguments for and against but it has not really been clinically tested to determine if it is beneficial. Basically there are three buckets. The first has baking soda and lemon juice in room temp water. Second has the hottest water the tap can generate. Third is clean cold RO water. Supposedly it gets rid of dirt and hair and stuff that accumulates on the buds as they grow. THC is not water soluble so they do not fall off into the water. I tried this method with 4 of the 16 colas to determine if it works and contributes to a smoother smoke.
I will be drying them for as long as I can at 40-50% RH in my dark flower tent. After that they go into jars and I will cure them for a month.
Also, I did a 3 day flush at the end with plain tap water and Flawless Finish from AN. Trying out a shorter flush this time around because I used very low ppm over the course of their lives and there is no true science behind the flush impacting bud taste or smoothness, more that it just flushes the root and medium out.
I am happy with the results so far and I will come back in about a month to post final tasting results and pictures. Thanks to everyone who hit me up, was a really fun grow and I love this site honestly. Cannot wait to keep doing it with the next batch. Grow on folks! : 1:0

Yep! They are separated by a removable Velcro "wall" that separates the sections allowing me to run veg and flower simultaneously and conserve space in my garage. I'll upload more pictures when I update my diaries this weekend.
@Grumbol.i am currently growing same strain. First time ever in RDWC. Question for You. Do Yiu do flush or not? If Yiu do how Yiu doing it please? I keep reading some peiole do not flush some are.... And those that not flushing keep saying good taste is from drying and curing bot from flushing cause you stress olant starving beforw harvest when plant need food to develop bigger buds? Regards
@DrGreenTumb,
It really depends on the plant and if it’s nutrient heavy or not. If the leaves are a normal shade of green to you then maybe 7-10 days before harvest chop the feed out.
@GrimbolTheDruid thank You for replying ,can You give me advice how to flush plant without stressing her to much please? For hoew many days before harvest? Regards.
@Grimbol, Hi bro, can you please tell me if she gots that famous strawberry 🍓 bubble gum taste ?
Bubble gum comes from Indiana , when it arrived in Amsterdam in the 90's that strain has made a revolution in the coffeeshops , cuttings from the original Indiana strain has been giving to 2 persons, one from T.H Seeds and one from Serious Seeds , the strain in the 90's really tasted that sweet strawberry bubble gum flavor, the same bubble gum that we were chewing when we were kids.
During all these years the strain has lost his typical flavor, now only one fenotype on a hundred has this strong and powerful flavor that I'm looking for , I hope you got the one on a hundred 👍
@JUNGLE_B4RNS,
Yeah dude I'll be sure to try and take note of that when it fully cures. Right now the smell is just lightly flowery I would say. Thanks!
@BigDaddyK,
Hmm very interesting. I really love the control and accuracy that hydro affords. I don't know if I would ever willingly switch but if I had to be stealthier for some reason I might do coco because there is no air pump.
@Grimbol,sorry , lol , cons of coco are drying out , and fiddly watering , also you got to get rid of it , after each grow . Ph can be hard to control , but flushing is easier than soil , flavour can be more soil than hydro 👍
Firstly the leaf yellowing is expected , bigger fan leaves seem to go first , as regards the nutrients how often do you change the solution completely? I do every two weeks but top up every day , I have seen froth but not loogies 👍
@BiggestLittleGrower,
Thanks man, much appreciated. I vegged for about 8 weeks but that was because I had many problems with light burn and over fertilization. Normally with manifolding I would guess I would spend maybe 5-6 weeks in veg for a 2' (finishing) plant. This was my first time manifolding and honestly I could not be more pleased. For my first grow (not on this site) I didn't manifold and the difference is amazing. Both of my plants grew almost perfectly even and a majority of the bud weight is definitely in those 8 colas so I am hoping I will have much less popcorn buds/waste. After the cuts I didn't even bother LST and they all grew at about the same rate and had nice spacing. One other thing that is kind of funny is that it basically turns your plants into their own drying rack! I think I will be able to just trim the colas while they are still on the plant and then lop it off right below the "Y" and put it on a hanger. If they are too tight then you can just take each pair of cola off before the intersecting node and hang them. Also if you are like me I love symmetry because it is very efficient in light usage and it just makes me feel good inside haha. I took a picture for you today from the bottom of the plant looking close at the"Y". Check it out and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks again!
@ClubRiot,
Thank you very much dude! Stay tuned for my GDPs! They are going to be my master piece!!... well my GDP1 is going to be a titan!! I don't know so much about GDP2 :( she is so mini and not loving life haha. It's just a ball.
@DUBDOLLASIGN100,
Thanks a bunch dude! Learned so much! You just wait for these grand daddy purps to come out. If they are the purple pheno it's going to be legendary. I would estimate I am 1-2 weeks from flowering them.
@JUNGLE_B4RNS,
Thanks man. I absolutely love manifolding. Here is the tutorial I used if you were interested. Good luck!

@BigDaddyK,
Thanks! I'm really happy with how this low altitude manifolding turned out. My new crop (GDP) is going to grow much taller in a manifold now with my new tent!
Nice looking crop, friend. I'm hoping for some hefty colas from my girls. Good job on the multi-space tent too. I'm planning on getting a bigger tent next grow. 👍
@Hahded,
Thanks man! Let me know if you want me to link you the tent. It took forever to find it in the dimensions I wanted and on amazon to get that free shipping. The zipper is pretty weak but i'm happy with it so far.
