poly_esther Plants were moved to their first DWC tank 5 days after germination. The plants, including the peat pellets they were planted in, were placed in a 3" net pot filled with hydroton clay. Initial nutrient mix (6.75 gal) contained 2/3 tbsp each of GH's Floramicro/gro/bloom The plants were placed under a 150w blurple light The DWC tank was made from a 12gal tote. It contains a submersible pump that runs 1 minute an hour to keep the clay moistened. A manifold to spray the net pots inside of the tote was made from a four-way irrigation splitter, a short irrigation pipe, irrigation tubing, and some t-splitters. Additionally, the lid has an access hole covered with a heavy rubber flap to easily test ph and add more water.

poly_esther After 10 days in the first DWC tank, the water is emptied and replaced with 6.75 gal of fresh nutrient mix: 2.3 tbsp each of ArmorSI, Floramicro, Floragro, and Florabloom 1.5 tsbp of CaliMagic (no pictures for this week)

poly_esther After 21 days in the starter DWC tank, the 3 in net pots are moved to the tank they will complete their grow in. Plants are now under 290W full spectrum lights at 25% power, increasing to 100% over the next week. The DWC tank is made of 14 gallon tote (Home Depot has two 14 gallon totes, this is the shallower of the two). The tank sits on a small wire rack, so that a spigot installed in at the base of the tote can drain into a 5 gallon oil container for easy flushing. On the back of the tank, is a float valve that allows fluid from a mixing tank to top off the DWC tank as needed. An overflow valve is also installed in the back to allow extra water to drain out if the float valve malfunctions. The mixing tank is made from a 17 gallon tote. It contains a valve to feed the DWC tank's top off valve via black tubing, and a spigot for manual use. A submersible pump moves water from the tote's bottom rear corner to the opposing top front corner for easy mixing, and runs 15 minutes every 4 hours to keep the top off solution mixed. A float valve is installed to autofill the mixing tank via a garden hose. 9 gallons of nutrient solution was added: 3 tbsp Armor Si 6 tbsp Floramicro 8.4 tbsp Floragro 3 tbsp Florabloom 2 tbsp CaliMagic 1 tsp Garden Friendly Fungicide
