4th time grower, looooong time smoker.
The seed germinated after 4 days. Which was exactly the same amount of time as with my other grows, with seeds from barneys farm and vision seeds, both from amsterdam.
I my book that consistence screams quality!
The strain appeals to be more petit than my past gelato grow. Although it sits in a considerably bigger pot.
FIMing was a mistake on my side should have topped the plant like past grows, but read more colas and turned off consideration for the conseqences with my preferred triming methods: scrog and lst. Not a big deal though
Petit or not. The strain would for sure have been profited from 2 more weeks in the vegetative Phase. Nonetheles it goes to flowering after 3 weeks just like last years gelato and the amnesia!
Some light defoliation which I did not have done in past grows. This time i wanted to ensure to get rid of some foliage at an early stage. Which I feel like was conservative up to unnecessary.
The plant looks nice and appears to be healthy. Still smaller than other grows I've had with similar conditions though.
The smell is very faint, in fact it is the first time i turned down the extractor fan to a lower speed.
I'll have to say that I like the first recognizable aromas which are oddly enough spearmint, gum and grilled cheese?! If that makes any sense😅
I'll have to say the plant takes HST very well! Unlike with the 2 previous grows I didn't broke any branches! Didn't had that happen before, I snapped bigger branches with a lot less pressure on them! None of them would have taken that amount of "abuse"
This far it is an unrewarding grow although I'll start to value the exotic nature of the strain.
Sure its kind if underwhelming in size and it's time to kiss any hopes of a big crop goodbye.
But the stems have an beautiful cherry hard candy aroma, also of very high quality gum and as weird as it might sound, something really meaty bbg like (i'm a Vegetegarian for over 15 years now so don't take that one for granted ) twice I thought someone was bbq'ing after opening the tent😅
This week was the first time the strain rewarded me with an unexpected thick sugary grape aroma.
This was quite unexpected! Unexpected for an cannabis strain that is!
I was quite suprised to be quite honest. I did not expected that kind of clean and distinct fruit aromas from a cannabis strain.
On this point in the grow I made my peace with the size of the plant, a potentially moderate crop and potentially lower thc levels (low for me, but thats what I have signed for when growing this skittlez variation I quess) because I'm pretty sure this strain is gonna be unlike anything I have smoked before when it comes to its terpene profile, and that is very liberating right now. I mean at the end of the day that was the goal for me and I took my time when selecting it:
A strain that has some medical benefits and an exquisit taste and aroma rather than high thc levels and an cerebral high. Which I usualy both prefer.
This one has exotic vibes and a aroma that sounded good on paper but in reality is nothing less than delightful, so far. Very delicate though.
I highly recommend this strain when for various reasons the smell is of a big concern. I could imagine that this is a great strain for stealth grows and small grow spaces.
Finally the strain kicks up in gears. The colas begin to swell and a steamy moderate sweaty aroma is faintly occuping the lower half of the tent.
I like that! it feels rewarding to me and I do not want to miss that highlights in a grow since the last one was exactly that in Abbundance.
The buds are very sticky and with lots of resin I did not expected that, at this point they are stickier und have more resin on them as the amnesia lemon buds on my last grow which was the most rewarding grow so far plus a sativa strain.
At this point she gets the maximum nutrients for the rest of the grow. I did some minor defoliation before the fact and thats about it. She seems healthy, hopefully the climate will be on my side. 2 weeks from now I may have the first smoke sample. I am clean for the whole grow. Because? I'll tried to Play hero I guess
I'll have to point it out because this strain has to go through ungodly hard judgement and expectations because of that!😆😆😆
Mid 6 flowering week: sweet pineapple aromas and mild sour undertones are occuping the growing space.
Me like a lot!
Magnificent cherry aromas towards the end of the 6 flowering week reminiscent of sweet cherry filled pastry.
The defoliation at this point was very spontanious, I was rather planning to cut 1-2 yellowing leaves for good looks, but decided that a little more could benefit the light distribution towards the smaller buds and went all the way with it. Thrown 1 ml of Alg-A- Mic to the nutrients to keep her vibes high and thats about it. That was on the last day of the 6 flowering week.
Now it's waiting time 😄
At this point I'll have to happily retract any ressentiments I've had towards this strain.
I did have a smoke sample and I'll have to say that the strain has all the potency I would have expected. In my opinion the strain is not going to take 9 weeks time to finish it's flowering, the aroma profile and potency it is all present already. If it was up to me I would harvest tommorrow and enjoy this wonderful strain🔥🔥🔥🔥
'll give her at least 10 days though.14 days from tomorrow on would mean exactly 8 weeks.
This strain now has a really really pleasant pineapple aroma and lots of sour undertones but theres is also a dominant penaut buttery sweet, almost chessy aroma. Among the lines of a Peanut butter strawberry jelly sandwich.
The buds are simply beautiful on this one, lots of Vanilla tones and an almost pinkish hue, nice green hues also. The buds look very much like melting ice cream cones with lots of sparkling trichomes and a almost champagne-vanilla like hue.
Heading towards the 8 week of flowering, I'll had to decide how to move on.
So, today is the first day of flushing, for the next 7-11 days she is gonna get ph6.2 water.
Thus the harvest is gonna be after +/-56 days or Approximately 8 weeks, after 7-11 days, the nutrients in this soil and with the biobizz line last for circa 11 days.
The climate is getting too rough anyway it is getting way too hot and humid. So the decision to give her 9 weeks of flowering was more or less out of my hands.
But who knows maybe it will all fall in place like it should after the 56 days of flowering.
She is getting kind of stinky too, which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Very interessting strain.
A little update on the 3rd day of watering.
She is kicking up in gears again, just when I thought that nothing is gonna happen anymore, the buds have swollen once more and became stickier than they even have been before. I'll kind of regret to have stopped the nutrient flow aiming for 8 intead for 9 weeks, she is a last action hero, at every stage she has been.
At this point I am struggling to catch the beauty of this strain and her buds on photo.
2 days before the 9th flowering week.
The buds became even more sticky and fat in the last 3 days
The already exquisit aroma profile came to his own and is making me blush.
The predominant hazelnut bread spread aroma of the last weeks made way for the sweet grape sirup and cherry hard candy to have a comeback to the top.
Very sticky too.
A classic high suitable for any time of the day.
Smooth clear high. Enough potent bodystone to smooth out the day from break to the dawn. Excellent muscle relaxationabi
@iSprayBrixx, glad that you like it. My preservations towards this strain are mostly based on the fact that is very different from anything I am used to, but in fact there is nothing much to dislike about it. I think in a best case Scenario it's a connoisseur strain in its purest form. In the worst case it's gonna be a weak a** strain with a faboulous terpene profile and moderate yield. I feel like being tossed in the unknown with this strain 🤨
@Hou_Stone, to be quite honest i was expecting a little more of a rewarding grow with this strain, but she is healthy and that is what counts in my book. I would not go the FIMing route again, I was keen to try out the technique but did not count in the consequences, especially with scrog. I will say though that the strain is very resistant and good with hst.
@Sweet_Seeds, you are very welcome. I took my time to choose this strain after I came across smoking skittlez once. I was looking for something exotic, and with some medical benefits rather than high thc levels, this time. And although i'm still somewhat in a "fear of a weak a** strain" I ll have to admit that the aromas, although quite moderate through out the grow so far, are quite amazing and unexpected in their own right. Finally in the 6 flowering week the strain finally seems to kick up in gears with very sticky, chubby buds with tons of Unbelievably sweet grape aroma. Fingerlicking good so far, for sure. Still skeptical though! We'll see 🤨😄
Today is the last day of the 7 flowering week, so tomorrow I'll have to decide if they are gonna be 8 or 9 weeks of flowering for her. In the case of a 8 week flowering period, tomorrow would be the first day of watering without nutrients for 7-11 days.
Otherwise circa 14+ days until harvest, when aiming for a 9 week flowering period.
