I started off with a soak for 24 hrs in a mix of humic acid and water. After 12 hrs her shell cracked and showed a tap root so she went into a wet paper towel for another 12 hrs.
She is now sitting in a pot of Coco in the dark waiting to breach. I expect another day and she will show and then under some photons.
The Coco I used was from last run re used. It was washed through before the seeds went in with a mix of calmag and humic acid to get it nice and damp.

I've been away for a month abroad working so plants were left in various people's care. They have suffered a fair bit but I have got them back on track and the are going to sit for another 10days or so to recover from the cut back I had to give them. All are topped now and feeds are up to 1.3ec with grow.
Sitting under X bars running at about 15% with a 20w uva strip also. They get a 30 min far red bathe at the end of the 18hr light on period for Emerson effect.
I hope to be home for the rest of the year so the diary should be complete from now.

A very decent week now I'm back. She's exploded and is well on her way . Her shape has trained out nicely for for the stretch. I think she will need a few days to recover from the branch snapping I gave her but it will be worth it in flower. I lowered feeds during training as I am giving feeds as a foliar also with fastplant spray from greenbuzz nutrients. Were at more like a 1 to 1.2 from grow atm.
Lights are the xbars at 20% and the uva strip to ready them for the UVB during flower.
At lights off they also get a 30 min sleep inducer with some far reds only.

So a lot has happened this week. I have put a scrog net over the run and pinned out all the stretch so I can get a nice flat open canopy. Downsides is access is poor at the best of times so now it's even worse. But I hope the end results will be worth it
Also installed my DRB80 side and under canopy lighting system. These 4 bars are Samsung deep reds and royal blues to help with flower. As a test I have left the lower canopy real thick compared to my normal growing style. Hopefully it will fatten up the lowers from large to buds🤞🏼.
Feeds are up to 1.4/1.5 EC made of bloom and grow.
They get 2 x 1l feeds a day. Second feed is just npk and no beneficials. I've spent the year getting my feed ratios down to a sensible level. As I feed twice a day I can maintain the perfect substrate conditions.
This week I will topdtess some more living organics to top up the microbiology. I do this every 24 to 30 days.
Lots of new things again. So no idea how yeild will be but it's all good fun.
Black orchid grows with a great shape. It's very kush like in her node spacing and has taken the hst like a champ. She's the first plant in the grouping.. I will get bud shots as they grow.

Another good week. Not very eventful really. Added side lights and have been playing with positions. Finally happy and plants lowers are all getting good photons.
Feeds have moved along to more pk and bloom mixed to an EC of about 1.4. I feed 2l an hour after lights on and then another litter an hour before lights off. I started to do this as they were drying out too much doing once every 24hrs.
X bars are running at 40% and giving just under 1000umols across the canopy.
Black orchid is a pretty plant that has had some very impressive growth through her stretch. She smells sweet and is already quite sticky to the touch on her branches. As with the strawberry cough I'm not sure if I'm happy or not yet as the net is making my head scratch a bit as it all looks so different. I guess if all these flower sites bulk up then it will be a great finish.

A bit patchy with the updates but Al is going well with black orchid. She has very very tight dense nugs that are super frosty . I kinda messed up last week. Well not kinda. I totally fucked up and over exposed the whole grow to way to much UVB and I killed most of the top leaf. Flowers are okay and infact maybe are better for it..
Also had some pH issues. I am normally a check run off every feed kinda grower but the new puppy has taken my attention.
pH was running off at 7.4 and it locked up meaning my ec spiked also due to build up blah blah blah...
A week of pH 5 8 water and we're back on track with run off at 6.4 and EC a little high stil at 2000 uS.

Flowers on the black orchid are super dense. Like little rocks of frosty goodness. I'm super happy with this lady and I think she is gonna come down in the next 5 days.
The frost is insane and apart from the UVB damaged leaf she is super sexy..😍
New reds installed so now running a lower cct for flower . 4600k.
