So far everything is going great.
Have to figure out better light for seedlings since I'm getting a lot stretch even though I try to give the around 200-300 ppfd.
Girls are going fenomenaly. Nearly all of them are equally vigorous. Great quality seeds I must admit again.
Especially one Tropicana Poison no 10 is a true beast. Nearly two nodes more then the rest. Healthy roots too.
Today I repotted the plants to final containers. 12 of them to 8.5 l autopots and 9 to 7 l ordinary pots that will stand in ebb and flood system but will be supplied via drippers. I'm still considering feeding them from the bottom via the ebb ND flood system. But then I would have to make sure that the feed water is always clean. I think I will go drain to waste this time. It's been a while since I did anything else than autopots. I managed to dial them in pretty well. But I always wanted to try multiple feed-a-day coco drip setup. So we will see the difference.
All plants moved to final pots.
For the first time in my life I had to damage the rootball in some plants during transplant because a couple of plants are completely stunted and the growth is poor.
I have also changed the light at the same time from 3000k to 3500k + 660nm. But kept the intensity very low. Around 250 ppfd.
I have no idea what's going because most of the plants have poor growth in my opinion although the conditions where perfect.
I'm spraying them couple of times per day with mild nutrient solution, epsom salt and rhizotonic. Also around 25ml/10l of rhizotonic in feed to mitigate the stress.
So far it doesn't look good. Dont know if I will put them through flowering.
I think they are finally recovered from transplant stress and started to grow pretty fast. Also one of them is such a beast, it makes other ones seem weak and small. It has double the stem thickness. If she will end up having purple flowers it's a true keeper. I plan to take at least couple clones form her to make sure I retain these genes. Never seen such growth in 5 years at least.
Girls grew a lot these two weeks. I was away on vacation and they did fine. Except I wasn't there to control the stretch perfectly. But you don't have to be perfect every time.
I managed to take some clones from one monster plant. Fingers crossed she will end up with purple flowers.
I started noticing some leaves getting a bit paler/cloudy litghter green. Starting from middle to the tip. Not the the ones on the very top, mostly second from the top. The bottom leaves seem fine. Not all plants are affected. Not the areas with most light too.
I noticed you're VPD is off for flower...you should drop your temps to mid 70's and humidity to around 55 at least.
Also I would try adding calcium to your magnesium sulfate (epsom). Sometimes providing the magnesium without the calcium can throw it out of balance and create a deficiency of one or the other(tacoing leaves). The humidity makes your leaves taco as well.
I feel like once you get your VPD in line and start supplementing both calcium and magnesium she should get back on track.
Hope this helps 🙏
Yea what Mrs larimar say
In the second picture, see how the leaf edges are pointing upward, and the plant looks like it's praying, just like in your 8-week photo. This means it's getting a bit too much light 🍻
Had some trouble this week with light bleaching. This strain in autopots have some trouble handling higher intensity at least at this stage. (compared to high frequency drip).
I raised the light to around 60-70cm. Observing for changes.
Also I'm kind of getting tired with autopots. Having some blockages, ph drift in trays. I think I will give them a chance in an organic grow. I have done my fair share of grows with them and they did fine. But I think it's time to evolve to drip. Will see what future brings.
Cheers growmies!
P. S
Speaking of bad luck. I have 14 different Tropicanna Poisons and none of them showing purple/red flowers so far. I know that the true dark ones show a little at this stage.
Plants did not grow a lot this week. This is a very fussy and fragile strain. I have the lowest ec ever and they seem to suffer a mix of nutrient and light burn. I think them sitting in autopots also doesn't help. The ones I have in coco on drip trays seem perfect and tolerate much higher ppfd.
