Veg part of the diary I’m not very good at recording and because my veg periods overlap and move around, clones etc… I don’t really keep track as well as I should.
I use C02 foliar spray, low stress training, and high stress snapping and making knuckles. I usually top plants, usually just the once, keep under about 300-450 ppfd, let them grow into the lights and keep the canopy as flat as possible, if one cultivar is taller or shorter than others I build up/down accordingly. Works a charm.
Yeah! Going fine. Love the look of these buds not the most triched out in the world (perhaps with the exception of the plat jelly) but dense and healthy looking, each with nice structure.
Starting to get a feel for the terps on these, Plat J smells very grape sweet/sour and loud! Love it!
The Ztrawberry has a very meaty, almost bready/yeasty dank smell which I really am not a huge fan of, but the fruity candy smell of Runtz is definitely there too, and I’ve a feeling it’s gonna be my favourite smoke of this run, even if the smell is not my taste. Oh and I didn’t get Strawberry at first but a small under developed popcorn bud I removed from under the canopy smelled EXACTLY like strawberries for the first time. I’m into flavour and fragrance chemistry and my nose is pretty well trained for such things, hopefully you know I’m not one to bullshit if I don’t smell a particular thing that’s MEANT to be there.
The Apple fudge is a little less loud than the others smell wise, but her buds are very golf ball round and satisfying right the way down.
Baklava is sweet, fruity, creamy and gelato like to my nose, very much my favourite smell wise so far.
Bringing them into land now. Backing off on lighting incrementally to 10/14 at harvest. Giving just pH’d water for the next week or two, not so much as a ‘flush’ but more to encourage them to ripen and finish off.

They look ripe enough. One of the obvious disadvantages of running several cultivars at once (and needing the space to get your next lot of vegging plants flipped to flower) is that you have to take an average ripeness of all the plants when you decide it’s time to harvest. I’d say they were all ready except the Apple Fudge, probably could’ve done with a week longer but it was close to ready, so I decided to chop after this week.
I don’t smoke until after a half decent cure time, but these buds have me tempted. I’ve only grown two cultivars from In-house genetics and the Slurricane #7 was a mixed bag. Nice plant, grew well, possibly the Frostiest I’ve grown but the yield was poor for the size of the plant and had excessive sugar leaves, which looked pretty but better for making hash. The bud itself was nice smoke but after a proper cure (several months) it was truly AMAZING! So in fairness, overall good choice and I only popped one seed so these qualities, with good bud structure and it would be truly formidable. That’s kinda what we have here in the platinum jelly. Buds are better in structure, very frosty and with a really loud smell of sharp grape, jelly sweets and a hint of funk. I LOVE the smell of this weed and hope it translates into the flavour in the smoke because it’s truly amazing!!!! Happier with the yield.
So throughout the grow the Baklava was probably my favourite smell of the lot, very sweet and gelato creamy. This was the only one which didn’t go mad purple either (even though it did somewhat) and had pale fan leaves pretty early, looking the most ready, but actually came in perfectly really.
The plant looked slightly smaller and more compact than others on this grow but actually I think yielded a fraction more than expected.
When dried though, during trim & cure I got something of a blueberry terp from her, still sweet and fruity but not quite what I expected either.
Lovely girl, highly recommended. Bet she’s a great smoke. I actually got some Baklava from The Plug in Amsterdam a few weeks back and thought, mine will never be as good as this, but it might just be you know? We’ll see.
JUST TO NOTE THIS IS FROM GROUNDED GENETICS NOT CONSCIOUS GENETICS. Apple fudge is a lovely looking plant, the buds are really fat and round, really healthy looking, has been throughout the grow. Smell is decent but considering it’s apple fritter and a gelato cross I don’t really get that. Hey though, I’ve not smoked it, and I’m only comparing this to other cultivars in this grow which I consider more to my taste. This is still a very good result, the buds are dense and such, don’t get me wrong.
Oh Lordy! I wasn’t enamoured with the smell of this from veg, the yeasty, bready terps, very meaty and unique (I’ve smelled similar but not quite the same) also with this runtz, fruity earthy smell and yes notes of strawberry!!! Yes that’s right!!! A strain which actually smells like its namesake. The density of these buds is the most impressive thing, they are rock hard bullets! They are very dark with purple hues and have this ‘modern’ cannabis feel about them which I haven’t achieved yet in a grow. I think this will be a great smoke and all the reservations I had about the smell will be flipped on their head and this will be my favourite. Definitely has the bag appeal. This was a free seed I popped to see what it was about and I’ve cloned and will run again, for sure.
I recommend this cultivar, haven’t smoked yet but call it intuition, it’s gonna be fantastic. It yielded the most, every nugg from top to bottom was SOLID, I may have lucked out with the phenotype here but I think this new(ish) one from Greenhouse is impressive.
Well done! Was checking out ur platinum jelly, Have two going myself now was curious how it went , thx for sharing ur grow here!!
Best of luck to u n ur future grows!!
