Hello Growmies, As we bask in the success of our Northern Lights harvest, let's delve into the post-harvest process and look forward to the next steps. After making the decision to harvest, our Northern Lights underwent a rough wet trim. This initial trimming helped remove the larger leaves and prepared the buds for the drying process. While wet trimming can be challenging, it's a crucial step to ensure proper drying and curing. The buds are now in the drying phase, which is as critical as any other stage of cultivation. Proper drying is essential for preserving the aroma, flavor, and potency of the buds. I'm closely monitoring the humidity and temperature to create the ideal drying environment. In about a week, once the drying process is sufficiently advanced, we'll proceed with the dry trim. This finer trimming will help to refine the bud's appearance and remove any remaining small leaves. Dry trimming allows for a more precise and careful process, enhancing the overall quality of the final product. Meanwhile, the Biscotti by Zamnesia is nearing its own harvest time. Hello GD Community, After removing the large fan leaves, the plant weighed in at 991 grams. Post a 6-day drying period, the yield was 160 grams of flower plus 42 grams of sugar leaves, rich in trichomes, totaling 202 grams. The recommended maximum EC for this strain was around 1.4. However, I found that the plant preferred a much lower EC. Initially, higher EC levels led to issues, but reducing it significantly resulted in a healthier plant and a better yield. This experience underscores the importance of adapting nutrient levels to the specific needs of your plant, rather than strictly following general guidelines. The grow was conducted under a 165-watt Sanlight lamp. Achieving a 202-gram yield from a 165-watt light setup is impressive. It speaks volumes about the efficiency of the Sanlight lamp in providing optimal light conditions without excessive power consumption. This efficient energy use, combined with careful EC management, contributed significantly to the quantity and quality of the final yield.
