Harvest Week. I hope all my North American friends had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. I harvested on Tuesday, so due to Thanksgiving prep. I'm late posting the harvest report. Apollo is a wonderful plant to grow. She stayed short. I tried to lst by tying down. Apollo limbs pushed up the pins many times. She is strong and resilient. After watering only 2 liters with Vit B, Recharge and Signal yesterday, I put her in the 3#x3tent in the dark. The leaves were showing the fade using up the nutrients. 11/21 is day Apollo's 71 day and 43 in flower. The harvest window per RQS is 70-75 days from seed. Apollo's buds are thick, dense, stinky citrus floral and sticky. As she hangs to dry, she is pungent and stinky. I am so proud of this grow. I didn't overfeed so I have experienced the color fade to yellow as foods are used up and the delicate colors emerge in the sugar leaves. I am very impressed with Royal Queen Seeds F1 genetics. So much so I bought Milky Way F1 and Medusa F1. I will definitely have another Apollo grow in January. Thank you @James at RQS. After hanging to dry 13 days and a little bit more trim, Smokable bud 128 g or 4,5 oz. Wow this is my best harvest and grow ever. I put her in the jars to cure. Apollo F1 had a huge base stem and was multi branching-even the side stems had side stems. The stems were sturdy. No support is needed for her branches She stayed short at 26 inches tall. I definitely pushed her on the watering. When I saw no runoff after 2.5 liters of water, I upped to 3 ltr. Then 3.5, then 1 gallon. I watered 2 liters, let the water absorb, then slowly add another 2 liters. There was a small amount of run off at the time of watering but was all gone by the next day. It could have been evaporation, but I really think it was consumption. Consumption is an indicator of yield. As densely bushy as she is, I'm estimating at least 90 grams. So for future grows, especially for very bushy plants, I will defoliate at least 2x during early and midflower to open up the canopy and let the plants bulk up more. She did show some nutrient (cal-mag) deficiency and for the next Apollo grow, I will push the feed a bit. I'm excited and a bit sad to see this grow come to an end at the same time. 12/17/23 Today has finally come. What is the significance of today you ask? My long-awaited smoke report... Apollo F1 from Royal Queen Seeds is a nice balanced hybrid. I vaped a few tokes this over the course of yesterday and again this morning. The head rush was immediate and easy, meaning it didn't make me jittery and it lasted a few hours. My body was relaxed After a few hits, I was ready to start the day. I refreshed with new material for lunchtime. and hit the vape a few more times. In the evening, we vaped Apollo exclusively last night and it allowed us to have a relaxed wind down and cozy evening without couch lock. Taste of Apollo is a bit different for my husband vs me. He tastes more pungent profile than pine or cream. The smoke is piney up front for me but after the exhale I taste creamy vanilla. This grow was amazing. My best ever with 4.5 ounces of dry smokeable buds from one plant. Wow 😀. Apollo is strong and resilient. She lifted the LST clips I tried using. There were no bug infestations, mold or bud or root rot. Started Sept 9- first month of veg Apollo drank 3 liters in 24 hours by week 5 water consumption increased to 3 liters. When I saw all the water was gone in less than 24 hours, I increased to 1gallon. I didn't think possible., but this girl drank it all. The dry weight of 128g or 4.5 Oz supports the notion of water consumption being an indicator of final yield. I started 3 seeds, but I only had success with this one. 1 seed did not germinate: the other had helmet head. The seed coat did not come off all the way. What I later learned happened is that there is an inner membrane in the seed coat that has to come off. If it does not come off freely, the leaf does not get CO2 and will die then the plant struggles and also dies. In Apollo#2 helmet head case, the membrane stayed attached to most of one leaf, then when I misted it with water to soften it up, it fell of taking a chunk of the leaf with it.
