Disclaimer: I fill my diaries on the go and update them during the week. So if you like to get all the information and pics of innocent plants getting the herbie101 treatment, always check back on the last week to get the FULL picture (of a grower trying hard not to kill his plants). Thank you, have a wonderful week and happy growing!
plans for the week: This week we got two things to care about: LST and playing the "when should i switch to flower"-game. I want to let them grow for this week and switch afterwards. I try to LST them, so the canopy grows flat. After the switch we let the 8 colas grow upwards and just care about spacing and managing the stretch. The environment is pretty stable with temps being about 25-26Β° during the day and 18-20Β° at night. Humidity hovers around 50-60%, which is fine for me. I really need to adapt my watering habits, as the ladies are thirstier than ever. So i guess i'm gonna aim for upping the amount of water, while staying at a three day feeding rythm.
Day 35: Welcome to the fifth week of this ripper haze grow! I am very happy how the ladies perform, but we are are experiencing some minor hickups that we need to keep an eye on. Daisy is a little bit bright in colour, she doesn't like to wear dark green leaves. I don't know if this is a pheno thing or if she's just a little hungrier for nitrogen than cap. But this week we try to increase her nitrogen dose a little and watch how she takes it.
Captain falcon is pretty fine, she does not pray as much as daisy does. I may have stunted her growth for 1-2 days last week due to the early second topping, but thats fine. John is looking rather sad in her pot and shows some signs of leaf discoloration. Looks more like a magnesium deficiency, but i think she is actually rootbound and is unhappy because of that. I don't have the plan to repott her, so we just take her along and see what will happen.
Update: Aaaand i broke a branch *tadaaaaa* ππ Well that happens when you go too hard on LST. But i taped cap up and we'll see if she can heal that thing. I believe in her fighting spirit. Hopefully she will bounce back even stronger!
But man, i feel like an elephant in a closet when i'm working in that tent. π
Day 36: The branch doesn't seem to make it. The spot was very fiddely to repair, so perhaps i wasnt able to connect them properly or its just ultra survivalmode to conserve energy. I'll just leave it as it is and check in a few hours. Worst case we'll just cut my losses and ride on with a monobranch.
They were also bonedry today, so i gave them another watering of 2l nutewater for each girl and a few sips for little john. Adjusted LST.
Day 37: Daisy is thriving while Cap has visibly slowed down. It seems like she's focusing on the healing process of the broken branch. The outer leafs are almost dead, while the inner core seems to still be alive. I'm very curious if she can save it. I let her chill as much as possible and we check back tomorrow.
Day 39: Yesterday was thursday my dudes! I missed the weekly weigh in! Well i was quite busy the last days, which was good for the ladies so i didn't hover around them so they had some time to relax. So time to adress the elephant in the room:
Yes i think Cap is repairing her broken wing again! A lot of the outer leaves of the little branch died of, but the core seemed to survive. And now i think it is growing again! It costed her a lot of energy, so she did not grow much but i am more than proud of her!
What a lucky bastard I am to be blessed with a plant with such a willpower! Or good genetics, whatever! I am quite confident at the moment to pull the switch in three days. Daisy is just the biggest sweetheart in this tent. While i was worried about cap, Daisy was just shining. Her leaves are darker, shes praying all day long, she grows just fine with little foliage, well proportioned, she's just awesome!
And little Johnny is rebelling because she wants a bigger room. Which is totally fair. She'd deserve it, but i just can't make any more space for her. So sorry little buddy!
But to make up for the lack of attention, the girls got 2l of nutewater today.
Day 40: During this week i took off some big fanleaves on all the ladies and today i adjusted LST and took of some more as a ladt defoliation before the switch to flowering. I took a bit more than I normally wouldy but these girls produce such a nice foliage that i am pretty confident that less is more. Now they got space to breathe and grow and i want to let them chill now until monday and then do the switch. It's getting exciting!
Day 41: Last day of the week, last day of the veg. The girls doing great so far! Cap has done an amazing job healing her branch. She is now groing again on all fronts. Thats a big relief for me, as the branch is saved and she tells me that she is back on track. So i can stick to the plan and pull the trigger.
I'm curious how it will play out heightwise, pretty anxious about not having enough space. But the quitter never wins, so i'm thrilled for the next phase. I love the first month of flower, there is so much happening! The bad thing about flowering with photos is, that i just have access for 12 hours. So i need to adjust my "checking schedule", and with schedule i mean checking on them everytime i pass by π But we will have to work on that π
@Herbie101, hallo schaue mal bei ACE SEEDS vorbei die haben sehr viele und schΓΆne old school Sativas aber auch neue Sorten und sehr gut beschrieben sogar Labor test bei manchen Sorten.
@@OimRausch, Echt? Klasse! Wieder was gelernt, Danke dir! Und ja klar: Original ist immer besserπ Aber ich bin sehr gespannt auf die Interpretation von den Rippersπ
@Herbie101,
Superstrains wΓ€r die Originale.. ich hat n Diary ΓΌber die gemacht.. tolles Zeug..Rippers Amnesia is auch super nice, aber die Originale ist besserπ
@HippyHemulen, I never tried dutch passions amnesia, but the fucke up short memory was real with the amsterdam amnesia i got over there. Such a fine smoke with a nice euphoria. Would be awesome if the ripper haze would scratch that itch. More of the stoney "what the fuck did i wanna do here"- moments. Lovin it π
I'm very curious about the sour ripper as well! I love the classic old school strains brought up to new life. I also wanna try barneys acapulco gold, but my growspace is just too tiny for all the things i want to grow! ππ
@Herbie101, Sour ripper is my watchlist cause im sour lover and ofc their classic Zombie kush need to be tested too. You tried Dutch passions Amnesia? Atleast they claim its original amnesia? Smoked many years ago some amnesia what was imported from Holland and that really fucked short memory like name says what i remember. π
happy growing, Herb!π
Keep spoiling themπ, they will reward you for your love with some beautiful, shiney, frosty, fat budsπ

@D33jW, Thank youuu! I would love to be better at it. But comes time, comes experience! But never forget to have fun with what you doing.π happy growing buddy!π±ππ
Followed, look forward to watching your grow. Amnesia Haze ehh? I may need to give this strain a try some day... I've heard great things and am a fan of super lemon haze.
@Browncoatgrows, Thanks a lot! I'm very happy to have you! If you like SLH you should try Amnesia! My wife was a lemon haze lover 10 years ago and Amnesia is by far her favourite strain now. They don't taste that different as far i can remember, but Amnesia has just that special twist (and a lot of nostalgia) which makes it unique for me.
@@justsomedude420, Thanks a lot buddy! π Yeah that's such a great moment! I still have doubts about the third one in this run, but two plants are enough π
